- Was nominated for Broadway's 2001 Tony Award as Best Original Musical Score, both words and music, for "The Full Monty."
- "The Full Monty" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California was awarded the 2002 Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Touring Production.
- Attended Brown University where he wrote an original musical with the production group Brownbrokers before graduating in 1982. He also directed a production of Hair with the student theatre group Production Workshop, for which he composed an original song to complement the classic score.

- Since 2007 has been developing the music and lyrics for Bruce Lee: Journey to the West, a stage musical based on the life of martial artist Bruce Lee.
