In 1989, with the release of their debut album Pickin’ on Nashville and its standout track “Dumas Walker,” the Kentucky Headhunters shared their favorite meal with country music fans all over America: a slawburger, fries and a bottle of Ski. The only problem was that few knew what the hell the band was singing about.
More concerning at the time, neither did influential record man Harold Shedd, who signed the long-haired, scruffy-looking Headhunters to their deal with Mercury Records and was poised to introduce them to Nashville and beyond. To Shedd’s ears,...

Bohemian Rhapsody has become the highest-grossing biopic of all-time, thanks in large part to Queen’s East Asian fans. According to sales figures from IMDb’s Box Office Mojo, the biopic has made more money in South Korea ($70 million) and in Japan ($64 million) than in the band’s home of Great Britain ($63 million). The Asian sales numbers were only bested by the U.S., where the film grossed $195 million as of January 9th.
The biopic’s popularity for Korean and Japanese fans may be attributed to “sing-along” screenings of the film in South Korea,...

“Bohemian Rhapsody” may have a lot of people in America groaning about its Golden Globe win for Best Motion Picture Drama, but moviegoers in South Korea and Japan simply can’t get enough of the Freddie Mercury biopic. As reported by The Washington Post, “Bohemian Rhapsody” has sold 9.4 million tickets and counting in South Korea, where the population is 51 million people. The South Korea total of $72 million makes the country a higher grosser for the film than Queen’s own home of Britain.
The success of “Bohemian Rhapsody” has a caused a chain reaction in South Korea, where The Post reports Queen-related events are dominating pop culture. Richard Young, the official photographer for Queen, currently has an exhibition on display in South Korea, while Queen tribute band Bohemians have launched a tour to bring fans of the movie and the group together.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” box office is also booming in Japan with $56 million and counting.

This film was the very first one that I wrote any kind review for on an online platform. That was the first brave step in my cause for championing this film. Albeit, it was a small step, because maybe two people probably stumbled across it. Either way, I did it and I’m not ashamed. Matter of fact, I’m taking it to the big show by including it here. All of my feelings for this bastard child of the series just happened to resurface...

Chicago – The reboot of “Friday the 13th” was another financially successful notch in the belt of Platinum Dunes, the film company behind the remakes of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “The Hitcher,” and “The Amityville Horror”. Making $90 million worldwide and more domestically than any previous Jason Voorhees movie (that didn’t include Freddy Krueger), “Friday the 13th” has a following that will be ecstatic with the excellent Blu-Ray release for the slasher title.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 The Blu-Ray of “Friday the 13th” delivers everything fans could ask for. Not only do they present a longer and better cut of the film in the 9-minutes-longer “Extended Cut,” but the special features enhance the “Friday the 13th” experience and the technical transfer is nearly flawless.
Friday the 13th was released on Blu-Ray on June 16th, 2009.

As for the film itself, my response to “Friday the 13th” is mixed at best. I love...
