Rudi Dutschke was born on March 7, 1940 in Schönefeld, Jüterbog-Luckenwalde, Germany. He was married to Gretchen Dutschke. He died on December 24, 1979 in Århus, Denmark.
Icon of the 1960s left-wing student movement and founding member of the
Green Party in Germany.
In 1968, he survived an assassination attempt, when he was shot in his
head by a young unskilled worker. After emigrating with his family to
England, he was expelled as an "undesirable" alien in 1971.
Died in the bathtub after an epileptic seizure, caused by a brain
damage following the assassination attempt (1979).
