Why does Santa get to have all the killer fun? On the 5th day of Creepmas, we’re saluting Santa’s greatest helper, but with a horror twist. These four movies, and one TV series, highlight how the not-so-human holiday fixture sometimes prefers to spread holiday fear to a lethal degree. There’s something magical about pint-sized supernatural creatures, even more so when they get the spotlight over Old St. Nick. Appearances are deceiving; these elves mean murder.
The 12 Days of Creepmas continues on Bloody Disgusting, this time with 5 killer elves!

It’s October, so it’s time for two things: pumpkin spice on everything and the start of Christmas marketing. And just in time, the Norwegian holiday horror-comedy There’s Something in the Barn makes its world premiere at Fantastic Fest.
Bill inherits his uncle’s house in Norway after the man dies in a freak accident. We, of course, know it was no accident, and soon enough so will Bill, his wife and Bill’s kids Nora and Lucas (Townes Bunner) will too.
They relocate from California to Norway with plans to open a bed and breakfast, but complications ensue. Both in the obvious cultural differences and, more ominously, what Lucas discovers living in the barn.

Christmas horror movies are something special. The best ones take a time that -- for many -- is peaceful and full of joy, then juxtapose the lights, the carols, the gatherings, and the parties with absolute carnage in a way that results in a fun time.
Within Christmas horror there's an even more specific subgenre of Christmas horror creature features, which play with specific Christmas beliefs and traditions and twist them into gory, violent monsters. Movies like Mike Dougherty's "Krampus" and Jalmari Helander's "Rare Exports" do this, and now, the pseudo spiritual trilogy is complete with Magnus Martens's "There's Something in the Barn." This family Christmas horror movie takes clear inspiration from "Gremlins" and '80s genre movies, and wraps it in a hilarious fish-out-of-water story of an American family moving to Norway. It's laced with smart jabs at both cultures, and features Martin Starr doing a great obliviously silly performance.

The Dark Knight and Thank You for Smoking actor Aaron Eckhart is preparing to take to the skies for Midair, an action thriller from Concourse and Bee Holder. Magnus Martens directs from a script by George Mahaffey, with production scheduled for liftoff in July.

Keshet International (Ki) has closed its first international pre-sale for Zdf and Viaplay’s upcoming nationalist domestic terrorism thriller “Furia” to Australian broadcaster Sbs, announcing the sale on the occasion of the show’s world premiere at Lille’s Series Mania.
“Furia (“The Furies”)” was inspired by, but not based on, real events of domestic terrorism in Norway and across Europe, most notably the 2011 attacks carried out by right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik.
The series follows Ragna, played by Ine Marie Willmann (“Exit”), who crosses paths with Asgeir, played by Pål Sverre Hagen (“Beforeigners”), a former special ops officer who has started a new, tranquil life in Norway after escaping the Russian criminal underworld. After a tense meeting in which both are lucky to survive, the two must combine forces to prevent the right-wing group from committing their unthinkable act in Berlin, the heart of European government.

"Get down there and kill her." Vertical has released a new trailer for Sas: Red Notice, an international action-thriller from Norwegian filmmaker Magnus Martens. A small army of well trained criminals have hijacked the Eurostar deep beneath the English Channel. Now with 400 hostages, the plan is to blow up the English Channel and in the process expose the British governments darkest secrets. But little do they know, they have one too many hostages, as Sas operator Tom Buckingham is on the train. With the woman he loves and an unborn baby also on board, Tom has one chance to stop Laszlo and his band of criminals. I admit this a cool setup, but it does look like direct-to-dvd action junk, for the most part. This stars Sam Heughan, Ruby Rose, Andy Serkis, Tom Hopper, Owain Yeoman, and Tom Wilkinson. Described as a "provocative and authentic portrayal of an emergency response...

This The Walking Dead: World Beyond review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond Episodes 9 and 10
Huck (Annet Mahendru) is a woman with a mission, and it’s not to make sure everyone gets to the Civic Republic Militia research facility safely. From the very opening of The Walking Dead: World Beyond‘s ninth episode, “The Deepest Cut,” as Huck stares into the darkness while everyone sleeps, it’s clear she’s facing a choice between the people that she has come to know and love as friends in Felix and the kids, and her loyalty to the Crm, her mother, and the Crm’s idea of the greater good. Throughout the series, when prompted, Huck has cautioned Hope in particular to make the choice that benefits everyone, not the choice that simply benefits her, and that encouragement to push hope towards that concept of the greater good makes much...

Last night THR broke the news that 20th Century Fox and Ryan Reynolds had finally settled on David Leitch to helm their Deadpool sequel in original director Tim Miller's stead, but they also mentioned some of the other filmmakers that were in contention for the job: Rupert Sanders (Ghost in the Shell), Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) and Magnus Martens (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Now while we did include this in our original report, it definitely warrants some closer scrutiny, as the trade also mentions that Leitch won't return to helm a third installment, and that Fox is actively searching for a new director to take over. Obviously this is purely speculation, but it's not unreasonable to assume that they might take another look at one or all of the individuals mentioned above, considering they came close to landing the Deadpool 2 gig. Assuming that's the case, out of Martens,...

Last night, Deadpool 2 finally found a director in the form of David Leitch. It put an end to a search that first began when Tim Miller departed several weeks ago, and while Leitch was apparently an early candidate to replace him, he wasn’t the only one Fox had their eye on.
Buried in The Hollywood Reporter’s story about Leitch signing on was an interesting tidbit of information which revealed that aside from the John Wick co-director, the studio had also scheduled meetings with Rupert Sanders (Ghost in the Shell), Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) and Magnus Martens (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Of course, none of those individuals got the job, but could one of them end up behind the camera for Deadpool 3?

Last month it was rumored that John Wick co-director David Leitch was in the running to replace Tim Miller as the director of Deadpool 2. Well, Deadline just confirmed that he has signed on helm the film, which I know fans will be very happy about.
There were a few other directors up for the gig such as Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) and Magnus Martens (Luke Cage), but Leitch, who had 20 years of stunt coordinator and stuntman experience before he made John Wick, beat them out.
I'm excited to see what Leitch does with Deadpool 2! We can definitely expect the action in the sequel to be a lot better and crazier than the first one. I think Leitch is going to be a great fit for the franchise, and I'm really happy that he's going to be taking it on.
We don't have any plot details for the sequel yet,...

Our Chimichanga loving Merc with a Mouth has found himself a new director! And I don't know about you, but I am super hyped!
No more then a month ago it was reported that Tim Miller, the director of the long awaited, financially and critically successful Deadpool film had exited the much anticipated sequel. Rumors swirled about why the director and the project split ways, with the official word being creative differences. Whether it was the casting of Cable, or story, we had to move forward without Miller. We didn't fear too much knowing that this project is Ryan Reynolds' baby and it would still be in good hands. And it seems those hands have surfaced.
According to THR, the man taking over the directors duties of the sequel will be the rumored John Wick Co-Director David Leitch. Word is that Leitch beat out such prospects as Rupert Sanders...
