“Moon Knight” has taken off with critics and superhero fans around the globe, raking in enormous numbers for Disney+ and Marvel Studios. As a result, the two studios are gearing up for a hardy Emmys campaign with the show in the limited series categories, especially following the success of “WandaVision,” which co-led the tally for all series with 23 nominations (winning three) last year. However, a tweet shared from Marvel Studios’ official Twitter account could throw a potential wrench in their campaign.
Created by Jeremy Slater, the entire promotional tour for “Moon Knight” had the two major studios referring to the show as a “limited series,” with the presumption this would be a standalone television outing for the Marvel Comics character. However, on Monday, Marvel’s official Twitter page shared the trailer for today’s final episode, referring to it as “the epic series finale,” but the tweet was taken down...

FX released the first trailer for its limited drama series “Under the Banner of Heaven,” on Wednesday. The series from “When We Rise” creator Dustin Lance Black stars Andrew Garfield as a detective who’s also a Latter-Day Saints Elder trying to get to the bottom of a brutal murder that he suspects is tied to the Mormon church. NBC will give the pilot of Peacock original drama series Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol a linear sampling.
The broadcast network will air the first episode of the mystery thriller, which is based on The Da Vinci Code author’s 2009 novel, at 10 p.m. Monday, November 8. It will replace a repeat of Ordinary Joe that previously was planned.
It marks the first time that NBC has aired an episode of a Peacock original on its linear schedule. The series originally was developed for NBC as Langdon and moved to the streamer late in the development process so it won’t be too much of a tonal departure for the broadcast network.
The move is made to give the 10 -part series, which debuted on the NBCU streamer on September 16, more exposure ahead of its season finale.

Peacock has given a series order to Dan Brown’s Langdon (fka Langdon), based on Brown’s best-selling thriller novel The Lost Symbol.
The Ashley Zukerman-starring Dan Brown’s Langdon, produced by CBS Studios, Imagine Television Studios and Universal Television, was originally developed by NBC and was ordered to pilot by the network last year. It was one of two 2020 drama pilots which NBC committed to filming last summer; the other Original Joe, remains in strong contention, I hear.
Langdon’s pickup by Peacock illustrates the integration of NBCU’s entertainment portfolio under Susan Rovner, Chairman, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. This is the first major cross-division pickup since Rovner joined NBCU though I hear she and her team also considered NBC’s three 2020 comedy pilots for both the broadcast network and Peacock.

The third installment of National Geographic’s “Genius” anthology series, subtitled “Aretha” for its subject Aretha Franklin, has been delayed due to the novel coronavirus halting production.

The novel takes place after The Da Vinci code, but thanks to the power of the reboot, the series will take place long before the original novel.
The series is said to center on a young Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor “who finds himself pulled into a series of deadly puzzles when his mentor is kidnapped,” per the official description.
Just over six months after the project landed at NBC, the network has officially ordered a pilot, with the prospective series revolving around a young Robert Landon.
While the show is being billed as a prequel, it will actually be based on the novel The Lost Symbol, the third in Dan Brown's Robert Langdon books.
The popular Tom Hanks fronted movie series skipped the third book entirely, opting to end the movie franchise with Inferno.

NBC has given a formal pilot order to Langdon, a drama based on Dan Brown’s best-selling thriller novel The Lost Symbol, as the network is wrapping up its pilot pickups.
The project, from Imagine Television, CBS TV Studios and Universal Television, had been on track for a pilot order, having scored a big production commitment from NBC last summer.
The pilot green light was given to a script by The Crossing creators Dan Dworkin & Jay Beattie. Originally Daniel Cerone had been attached to write the adaptation and penned a draft before departing the project during the development process last year, I hear. Brown, the producers and the network then brought in Dworkin and Beattie, who did their take on the material.
Langdon follows the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy.

NBC has given a formal pilot pickup to a drama centered on Robert Langdon, the character made famous through the books of Dan Brown.
The broadcaster had previously given the project a production commitment back in June. Titled “Langdon,” it is based on Brown’s book “The Lost Symbol” and follows the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy.
Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie will write and executive produce the pilot. Brown will also executive produce along with Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Anna Culp, and Samie Falvey of Imagine Television also executive producing. CBS Television Studios and Universal Television will produce.
Should the project get picked up to series, it would mark the first time Langdon has been played onscreen by someone other than Tom Hanks. Hanks played Langdon in...

Get to dreamcasting a younger Tom Hanks, because NBC has given a pilot order to Langdon, which is about the earlier adventures of the code-cracking hero from The Da Vinci Code and Dan Brown’s other bestselling Robert Langdon novels.
Based on Brown’s The Lost Symbol — which technically was the third Robert Langdon book — the prequel series will nonetheless follow the early adventures of the famed Harvard symbologist, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy.

Cynthia Erivo is transformed into the late, great Queen of Soul in a first-look photo from Genius: Aretha, the upcoming biographical series from National Geographic and Fox 21 Television Studios.
See the photo below.

“Over the last few months,” said Erivo, “I’ve been preparing myself to embody the Queen of Soul, from relistening to her music to discovering her rare interviews and reading some amazing books on her — all to really capture Aretha’s attitude and spirit. David Cross has joined the cast of the upcoming third season of “Genius” at Nat Geo, which will focus on music legend Aretha Franklin.
Cross will star as music producer Jerry Wexler. Cynthia Erivo is set to play Franklin, with Courtney B. Vance, Malcolm Barrett, Patrice Covington, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Sanai Victoria also set to star in the eight-episode season.
Cross’ Wexler is described as a scrappy, Bronx-born legendary producer who is one of the first to spot Franklin’s incredible talent and potential. He’s a street savvy music man with great ears who isn’t afraid to go into segregated clubs to find talented performers like Ray Charles and Wilson Pickett. He even coined the term “rhythm and blues.” He poached Franklin from Columbia to Atlantic Records and works with her from 1966-79 during which time she records some of her most iconic hits.
