This article contains spoilers for season 1 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
The relationship between Sally Jackson (Virginia Kull) and Poseidon (Toby Stephens) has always been a little complicated – as one would expect a romance between a mortal and a Greek god might be. Thanks to a pact formed by Poseidon and his brothers Zeus and Hades, he was never supposed to fall in love with Sally and he definitely was never supposed to have a son with her. Because of this pact, and Poseidon’s nature as a god, this meant a future without the traditional happily ever after that a romance of this magnitude might elicit in other tales. However, just because Sally and Poseidon don’t get a fairytale ending doesn’t mean that their relationship isn’t an important part of the story.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 7, “We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of.”] Toby Stephens‘ Poseidon made his long-awaited debut in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Episode 7, streaming now on Disney+. The scene was a departure from the source material but a welcome one as it teed up next week’s finale with an incredibly exciting cliffhanger. Poseidon made his first appearance in a flashback with Sally Jackson (Virginia Kull). In it, Sally has summoned Poseidon to a restaurant where she and young Percy (Azriel Dalman) have just gotten into a fight over Percy’s new school. Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for “We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium,” Episode 3 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”
This story also contains a discussion of sexual assault.
For fans of Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” books, Medusa represents one of Percy’s first big victories: After being tricked into spending time with “Aunty Em,” he beheads the snake-haired woman, and her cursed, dead eyeballs are later used to turn another enemy into stone.
But for those with a deeper knowledge of Greek mythology, and for many women, Medusa is a symbol of something darker.

Hallmark holiday films have evolved over the years. They used to be romantic and almost cheesy, whereas now, these films go deeper and explore not only romantic relationships but genuine friendships and family ties.
A Season for Family is part of the Hmm Miracles of Christmas programming event, and it's so fitting because Hallmark is known for granting Christmas miracles.
This cast is stuffed with Hallmark familiar faces, most notably Brendan Penny and Jessica Sipos from Chesapeake Shores.
It was interesting to see Penny and Sipos play siblings after they had been love interests for so many years on Chesapeake Shores.
Stacey Farber and Edward Ruttle also mixed things up. They've played exes and potential love interests on The Spencer Sisters, so it was fun to see them interact differently.
Farber plays Maddy, a single mom who runs a hotel in San Diego, even though her father owns a resort business in Park City,...
