After almost thirty years of denials about his involvement in the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, whom he married in 1985, O.J. Simpson passed away on April 10. He died at the age of 76, following a diagnosis of prostate cancer.
In addition to having two kids with Brown, the former NFL player had three children with Marguerite Whitley, his first wife. But while his family is grieving, did you know that a few weeks prior to his death, Simpson had made an awkward joke about ‘confessing’?
During a podcast appearance earlier this year, the father of five made an astounding joke about not confessing while talking about whether or not men should open up to women.

J. Cole is back with a “surprise” new album, Might Delete Later, arriving via Dreamville and Interscope Records.
Spanning 12 tracks, Might Delete Later’s release comes after a few weeks of Cole teasing the project via vlogs online. Alongside Cole, a number of artists appear on the album, including Ari Lennox, Gucci Mane, Daylyt, Cam’ron, Young Dro, and more. Check out the full tracklist below.
Of note is the closing track, “7 Minute Drill,” which includes Cole’s response to Kendrick Lamar’s diss on Future and Metro Boomin’s March 2024 song “Like That.” On the track, Cole raps, “I got a phone call that said somebody was dissing… He fell off like The Simpsons.”
Cole then alludes to Lamar’s discography, rapping, “Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic/ Your second shit put n***as to sleep but they gassed it/ Your third shit was a massive hit,...

J. Cole has offered a reply to Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which saw the rapper taking shots at Drake and J. Cole. Drake sort of responded to the diss on his current tour, but Cole took a more direct approach with “7 Minute Drill.”
The track, which closes out his surprise drop Might Delete Later, sees Cole addressing Lamar’s verse. “I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing / You want some attention, it come with extensions,” he raps. “He...

The sidelines at the University of Colorado football games have resembled Grammy and Oscar week in L.A. since Deion Sanders, aka “Coach Prime,” took over as head football coach this season. A-listers from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kawhi Leonard have shown up to see the Buffaloes run the field, and the star power is poised to continue as the team takes on UCLA at the already sold-out Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday.
“I can assure you as a sports commentator and reporter for years, I’ve never had any reason to talk about the University of Colorado football,” says Stephen A. There was a cipher going on outside the Hip-Hop 50 Live show at Yankee Stadium. One woman took the mic, intently closing her eyes while focusing on her next bar. As I walked away, she rhymed an improvisational derivative of recuperate, before spitting “that’s not even a word, I just be sayin’ shit.” The line set an apropos tone for the day. Hip-hop was bore out of rule-shirking and boundless imagination — and it made its way to “the house that Ruth built” to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Returning to hip-hop’s birthplace, classic rappers who pioneered the sound — as well as those who have proudly carried the rap torch — joined forces to honor the genre’s 50th birthday and celebrate its historic and global impact on pop culture.
It was only fitting that a venue as iconic as Bronx’s Yankee Stadium became the home for the eight-hour celebration, which included three dozen performers and nearly 50,000 audience members.
The universal love for rap was at the center of the night, and rappers like Nas and Snoop Dogg owned the night while also honoring those who came before them.
During his set, Nas brought out hip-hop founding father DJ Kool Herc and told the crowd: “This is our love. This is our bloodline.” Herc, 68, earned a standing ovation and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Kool G Rap also appeared onstage alongside Nas,...

All week long, a culture war has been raging around country star Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town,” a turgid power ballad wrapped around an unsubtle warning to protesters and other outsiders: “Try that in a small town, see how far you make it down the road.” To many observers, that sounds uncomfortably close to the kind of threat that the Klan used to issue to civil rights activists, and that modern-day racists continue to spout today. The music video, which juxtaposes stock footage of Canadian protesters...

Jennifer Lopez rose to prominence in the late 1990s following her breakout role in Selena and her transition into a hit-making music career. J. Lo’s success continued into the 2000s, which saw the rise of another massive artist, Kanye West. At one point, Kanye was set to be a featured guest on one of J. Lo’s biggest songs. But at the last minute, the “Power” rapper decided to use his verse for his own music.

Moody blue lights drench the audience at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem. We’re in Drake’s bedroom. Or some version of it, at least. The musician born Aubrey Graham is seated on the edge of a neatly made bed, and a dim tulip-shaped lamp stands in the corner of the stage, designed as a replica of the teenage bedroom where he wrote his first songs. His outfit of baggy jeans and a yellow-and-blue basketball jersey complete the tableau. Number eleven, Degrassi High.

Ever since ABC's Queens debuted, the big question on everyone's minds was: who is Jojo's (Precious Way) father? During the show's premiere episode, we're led to believe that Naomi (Brandy) doesn't know who her daughter's dad is, but we later learn that's actually not the case. Naomi does, in fact, know who Jojo's father is, she just never informed him that she was pregnant with Jojo. However, the truth has finally come to light.
In episode two, all signs initially pointed to Naomi's ex-boyfriend Cam (Cam'ron) being Jojo's dad. When Cam unexpectedly crashes Naomi and Jojo's lunch date, Naomi is taken aback. "I didn't know you had a daughter," Cam tells Naomi. At first, the whole thing just seems like two old friends catching up, but when Jojo puts in her complicated burger order and Cam ends up ordering the same thing, Naomi immediately becomes uneasy. It’s easily one of the most defining New York rap songs of the past 10 years, next to Pop Smoke’s “Dior” and Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Nigga.” It also broke barriers. There’s not a great deal of representation for queer people in hip-hop. Women rappers, especially queer ones, are not given as much attention as their male counterparts.

At the time, “I was working on a reggae album, a pop album, and it was like, ‘hey if you have some beats for Max, send ’em.’ I just sent what I had without thinking about it.” The rapper’s reaction: “You know, Paul, that just ain’t it.”
Couture asked for a second chance.

This is a list dedicated to entertainers who tried to give us the best of both worlds, meaning acting And singing – and failed. Sometimes, devastatingly so.
It is not meant to indicate any pessimism for Miley Cyrus or her new film The Last Song, as she is just beginning to start her venture into “real” acting (and The Hannah Montana Movie had worse acting, and not from her, anyway.)
Read Jeff Bayer’s Tsr of ‘The Last Song’
Of course, the legacy of the singer turned actor has had some great moments, like Ice Cube in Boyz N the Hood and Mandy Moore in Saved! Mariah Carey even saved herself from this list with her performance in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.
