Here is what Lizard sang on The Masked Singer, his clue package, and who we think is under the mask.
Lizard Performs On The Masked Singer
Lizard came out on The Masked Singer this week and performed a Billy Joel song on the night honoring the legendary singer/songwriter. For Lizard, the song was “Uptown Girl.” Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg said he was clearly a “showman” while Rita Ora said he was “tiny.” Lizard was in the bottom two and in the Smackdown round, he and Spaghetti & Meatballs sang “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song).”

After 23 seasons in a red swivel chair, The Voice’s Blake Shelton took a load off Monday night to watch his last bunch of finale performances as a coach. He was sitting pretty, too, considering that the members his team, whittled down to just showman Noivas and country singer Grace West, were the likeliest to win the title. Did anyone from Team Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper or Niall Horan deliver such a knockout that they might pull off an upset? Did Noivas and/or Grace stumble? Read on, and we’ll discuss.

For most of his early career, Luke James was most widely known for his work as a singer. He released his debut mixtape, #Luke, in 2011, and many believed that he was going to be one of the next big artists in R&b. His self-titled debut album was released in 2014 and met with moderate success. In more recent years, however, Luke has shifted his focus to acting. He got a big break in 2017 when he was cast as Johnny Gill in the TV movie The New Edition Story. Since then, he has been on a roll, and he

We’ve been a fan of The Crab, one of the WildCard entries on season five of “The Masked Singer,” since he made his debut at the end of episode 4 on March 31 with a moving version of Bill Withers classic “Ain’t No Sunshine.” The Crab returned the following week and changed it up with a cover of the Rick James hit “Give It to Me Baby.” That got him a spot in the Super 8 competing in a special two-hour edition of the show on April 21.
We’ve gone back and watched both performances by the Crab and reviewed all the clues from his video packages. We are convinced that the judges are wrong with their guesses that the Crab is Johnny Gill or Lenny Kravitz. Keep reading for “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the true identity of the Crab.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer.”)
Following last week’s introduction of Orca, “The Masked Singer” welcomed its second “Wildcard” contestant on Wednesday’s episode. And just as the Orca managed to use his killer pipes to oust a current competitor, tonight’s newbie, Crab, clawed his way into the game, too.

The second of “The Masked Singer” wildcards, Crab, made his first appearance at the end of episode 4 on March 31. This season 5 twist shakes up the game with new contenders for the Golden Mask competing against the original slate of celebrity contestants. Crab certainly sounded like a winner with his toe-tapping cover of the Bill Withers classic “Ain’t No Sunshine.” The Crab said he chose this song as “a tribute to the family members that have gone before me. After all the darkness, it’s time to finally let the light back in.”
The four judges lavished him with praise for his performance, which had them on their feet. We loved their enthusiasm but think that they are wrong with their guesses that the Crab is Johnny Gill or Lenny Kravitz.

The Masked Singer fans, it’s early, but I’m going to call it: Black Swan should take the whole thing this season.

When Anthony Hamilton, one of the last mainstream singers working in the southern soul tradition, releases his eighth studio album in 2021, it will mark the first time that the 49-year-old R&b veteran owns the rights to his music. “We’ve thought about this day since 2005,” says Eli Davis, Hamilton’s longtime manager. “You’re no longer a ‘slave’ to a system.”
Hamilton, whose tender, tortured “Back Together (Quiet Storm Mix)” is currently climbing at radio, is part of a growing number of R&b acts cutting ties with major labels.

Ralph Tresvant is nearly overwhelmed by the strength of his affections on new single “All Mine.” For added firepower, the singer recruits his old group-mate Johnny Gill, who attacks the backing vocalist role with his characteristic intensity.
“All Mine” is co-written and produced by Gregg Pagani, who also has credits on overlooked gems like New Edition’s “This One’s For Me and You” and Charlie Wilson’s “There Goes My Baby.” While those were cheerfully mid-tempo, Tresvant’s latest single is a low-and-slow ballad, full of plush keys and light snaps.

Sports are shut down, but there is still room for underdog stories: “She,” a single from the 52-year-old Stokley Williams, quietly leapfrogged two long-running hits, Chris Brown and Drake’s “No Guidance” and Wale and Jeremih’s “On Chill,” to reach Number One at R&b radio on Monday. “No Guidance” and “On Chill” are both platinum-certified juggernauts, major successes from last summer that refuse to go away. Stokley barely eked out a victory after a 29-week climb.

In January, Spotify’s Viral 50 chart, which logs the fastest-growing songs on the streaming platform, was overrun by imposters.
It started with “Blueberry Fweigo” by 73bands, which debuted at Number Eight on the U.S. Viral 50 a few days after Christmas. That song only lasted a day before it was taken down. It was almost immediately replaced on the chart by Mikey.Otx’s “Blueberry Faygo” — an identical recording decked out with a new title and attributed to a different artist. When that song was removed, Yung Anime’s “Blueberry...

As the lead singer of L.T.D. in the second half of the Seventies and then a solo act with more than a dozen R&B hits, Jeffrey Osborne has enjoyed his fair share of commercial glory.
But pop music tends to reward youth, so like many older singers — Osborne is now 70 — the former L.T.D. frontman has trouble keeping his new music in the public consciousness. “People come up to us and say, ‘You know, you haven’t had a record in years,'” Osborne explains. “I’m like,...

During the 50-odd years that R&B was a central force in pop culture, no other genre celebrated as many fine gradations of the human voice. Few acts could match Otis Redding’s volcanic ache; Smokey Robinson’s exquisite falsetto communicated unrivaled fragility; Aretha Franklin offered an inimitable combination of steely and combustible. These tones (and many, many others) thrived side by side, permitting R&B to embrace a breathtaking range of expression.

Like many road trips, Girls Trip starts off with great promise, only to devolve into a series of questionable decisions. To be fair though, Girls Trip isn’t aimed at me. While I’d like to think I have a pretty good bead on what’s funny and what isn’t, this grumpy old white dude may not be the best judge of a comedy aimed at black women. However, if I were to base my decision on how funny a film is on the reaction of the screening audience, then it’s safe to say the target audience is going to eat this up. Girls Trip is uneven and goes on too long, but it has a better-than-average laugh-per-minute ratio with some of its best jokes true belly-busters.

One of the best jokes of the second season of “Master of None” centers on a fake movie with the ridiculous title “Death Castle.”
Series co-creator Alan Yang has said that the title for this fake blockbuster, a gag in the episode “New York, I Love You,” was a tossed-off comment that snowballed before eventually found its way into the show. But there was one element of the pretend movie that didn’t quite make its way to the pretend screen: Its pretend star, Nicolas Cage.
The show’s writers built a contingency plan in their original script for Andy Samberg to voice Cage, if need be. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t still try to get the real thing.
“I think we did go out to Cage and quickly received a ‘…no,'” Aziz Ansari said, following a “Master of None” Season 2 screening Monday night at...

When it came time to host his own TV show, Prentice Penny couldn’t help but feel a little insecure.
Penny hosts the comedic lifestyle series “Upscale with Prentice Penny,” which premieres Tuesday night on TruTV. It’s a bit of an unusual career move for Penny, a writer whose credits include “Happy Endings,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Insecure.”
“I never really thought of myself as a host until we sold it,” Penny said. “And then I was like, ‘woah, shit, now I gotta do this!’ I’m still finding my way, and trying to objectively learn to see myself in a different way.”
“Upscale” follows Penny on an Anthony Bourdain-inspired journey into the world of affordable style. Penny and pals like Adam Pally explore butchers, candle shop owners, tailors and more to demonstrate how anyone can obtain the good things in life.
