Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is suing his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son, Daphne Joy Narvaez, for defamation following her public accusation in March that he raped her while the two were in a relationship more than a decade ago.

Just one month after Revolt celebrated its 10-year anniversary, the company embarked on a rocky path and still faces questions about its future after founder Sean “Diddy” Combs stepped down as its chairman amid allegations of sexual assault in November.
Combs removed himself from the company after he was beset with multiple lawsuits, the first from ex-girlfriend Cassie, who accused him of sexual assault and other forms of abuse in an explosive lawsuit Combs quickly settled while denying the claims. Additional lawsuits were filed by others; the case against Combs grew even more serious March 25, when his houses were raided by federal agents as part of what was described as an ongoing investigation.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has denied allegations that he raped and physically abused his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy.
A rep for the rapper shared in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday afternoon, “The disturbing allegations in the sworn pleadings recently filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy the mother of my twelve year old child, has required me to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son Sire. The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphne Joy are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. My son Sire is my main priority and keeping him in a safe environment is my only focus at this time.”
Earlier Thursday, Joy took to Instagram, claiming 50 Cent had previously sexually assaulted and abused her. The pair dated in 2011 before welcoming their son, Sire, in 2012, but broke up shortly after.

Max has opted not to proceed with a third season of Issa Rae’s comedy series Rap Sh!t. The decision comes a month after the show’s Season 2 finale dropped on the streamer.
The second season of Rap Sh!t, originally scheduled for an August 10 debut, was pushed to November because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes with the hope of giving it a better shot by having the creative team and cast promote it.
Max, along with other streamers, has been trimming its lineup of originals. Rap Sh!t‘s cancellation leaves five returning comedy series on the platform: Hacks, And Just Like That…, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Peacemaker and the recently renewed Bookie.

Heading into the 2023 Video Music Awards, all eyes were on Taylor Swift, and she delivered. Swift swept the live awards show, winning all four of her categories that were announced during the live MTV broadcast.
Out of the 11 nominations Swift received, she won in all categories but two. Song of the Summer went to Jung Kook ft. Latto for “Seven,” and Olivia Rodrigo won Best Editing for “vampire.” Neither of these categories were presented during the live broadcast of the awards show.
But the rest — which included best pop, song of the year, best direction, artist of the year, show of the summer, album of the year, best visual effects, best cinematography and the highly coveted video of the year — all went to Swift. In fact, Swift’s Video of the Year award marks the fourth time the singer and songwriter has received this award, the most of any artist in VMAs history.

Taylor Swift is heading into the 2023 Video Music Awards poised to break her own record. With the nomination of “Anti-Hero” for Video of the Year, Swift may be the first artist to ever win the honor four times, beating the record she set just last year.
To date, Swift is the only artist to win MTV’s Video of the Year on three separate occasions. In 2022, she took home the honor for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).” In 2015, she won for “Bad Blood (featuring Kendrick Lamar),” and in 2019 she won for “You Need to Calm Down.”
Video of the Year is far from the only nomination Swift received. The singer and songwriter was nominated in eight categories altogether, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Editing.

One week before the originally scheduled Aug. 10 return of “Rap Sh!t,” Max has delayed the comedy series’ second season to Nov. 9. Season 2 will debut with two episodes followed by weekly drops until the Dec. 21 finale.
The move comes as a result of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. As the labor unions representing writers and actors continue to protest for a new deal with the major studios, actors are completely barred from promoting projects from struck companies, while writers carry out limited press opportunities. The new November premiere date of “Rap Sh!t” signals a hope on the studio’s part, in this case Warner Bros. Max is pushing back the second season of its comedy Rap Sh!t by three months in the latest strike-related scheduling move.
The series, which stars Aida Osman and KaMillion as estranged high school friends who form a rap duo, had been slated to premiere on Aug. 10. Max has moved the date back to Nov. 9.
The change serves two purposes for the Warner Bros. Discovery streamer: It will give Max new programming in the fall, which could become increasingly sparse if strikes by Hollywood writers and actors continue into the autumn. And should the unions and the media companies they’re striking against work out deals before then, the show’s stars and producers would be able to promote the new season.
