Actor Idris Elba and Empire star Taraji P. Henson collaborated for the first time in the feature No Good Deed. But it was a film that Henson joked she had to guilt Elba into doing.

No Good Deed saw Elba playing a villain in the 2014 thriller. Henson’s character attempts to help Elba in a bind, but her generosity backfires, and Elba ends up threatening her life.
Henson was on a mission to cast Elba in the film from the very beginning, especially since she hadn’t worked with him before.
“It was always Idris, because I had never worked with him. I had just finished working with Michael Ealy on Think Like a Man, I’ve worked with Morris Chestnut, all of the names we started...

Some forgotten characters in the Fast & Furious franchise are among the series' best, despite brief appearances. Characters like Leon, Neela, and Slap Jack have left lasting impacts despite not appearing in multiple movies. While the franchise introduces unique characters in each movie, some fan-favorite characters have been forgotten.
The Fast & Furious franchise is known for its high-octane action and number of entries, but there are some characters whom the franchise has completely forgotten about. With Fast and Furious 11 in development, the beloved franchise has seen many characters come and go since its 2001 debut, The Fast and the Furious. Furthermore, Fast and Furious 11 is set to be the last in the series, due to the diminishing returns of the franchise's more recent installments. Nevertheless, despite the action series' reputation for introducing unique characters in each movie, some have fared better than others.

Just one day after Deadline reported that Starz boss Jeff Hirsch's plan with the network is to end costly series after about four seasons while still keeping franchises alive, news hit that Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 will be its last.
But with the bad news comes the good. Ghost will not be gone forever, as Origins will be a prequel about Tommy and Ghost before they were the men we've come to know.
In the meantime, we've also got a trailer for Ghost and thoughts about it winding down.
For someone who’s fought every comparison to his father, Tariq is certainly looking a lot like his not-so-dearly departed father.
Coming hot off the heels of the Starz announcement that the Power universe is expanding yet again in the form of a Ghost and Tommy-centric spinoff, we got the sad news that the Og spinoff will be saying goodbye.

Fans of the Power franchise are losing Ghost again — but this time, it’s the series.
Starz has canceled Power Book II: Ghost, with the show’s fourth season to serve as its last. It will be broken into two parts, premiering June 7 and September 6. Watch the teaser above.
The move was prefaced by Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch this week when he revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive.
Using the Power franchise as an example, he said: “You look at the [Power] map and say, ‘Ok, if I take one of those characters out and spin one of those out, I can bring that on to replace the Power show at half the cost.’ Now I’m putting a lot of money right to the bottom line. And I’m really not losing anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership,...

Following a potential MCU reboot, T'Challa's Black Panther could be recast, opening up new storylines for the character. Potential actors who could successfully portray T'Challa include Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, David Oyelowo and Laz Alonso. The First Purge star Y'lan Noel has expressed interest in assuming the role of T'Challa in the McU's future.
Marvel Studios' T'Challa, a.k.a. the Black Panther, may be recast if the MCU is rebooted following 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. Television can be a hard enterprise, and it's not getting easier. With production costs increasing, and more competition from networks and streaming services, distributors look for shows that can begin with high quality and get high ratings, and continue in that vein.
This cutthroat approach to creation results in many shows, even beloved ones, being canceled after a single season. Science fiction shows seem prone to this. By the same token, some science fiction shows are liked by very few people, or widely perceived to have declined heavily in quality, and yet somehow they continue to be renewed season after season.

Power Book II: Ghost, a spinoff of the crime drama series Power, made its debut back in 2020. The series had been extremely successful and a hit among viewers. Having run for three seasons, the series follows the character of Tariq St. Patrick, the son of James 'Ghost' Patrick from Power. The spinoff sees Tariq navigate his life, attempting to leave the criminal underworld for good while balancing both his father's legacy and family. However, Tariq's mission to go legitimate is not as easy as he thinks. His family's legacy and the number of enemies they had acquired over the years become binds that Tariq struggles to get out of.

This is Day 82 of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
There’s solidarity in the air in LA with a slew of writers continuing to join the actors’ picket lines after securing their own deal with the AMPTP.
As talks between SAG-AFTRA and the studio alliance restart, the picket lines, now focused on the actors requests, are still busy and, as seen this morning, full of “cautious optimism.”
Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer, whose upcoming NBC comedy Extended Family has shot the first six episodes, told Deadline, “The writers got real progress. I have constantly voiced my frustration with the AMPTP for not starting the negotiations a lot sooner. But it’s better than nothing.”
He added that he’s preparing himself for a deal “however long it takes.”
His biggest worry about the future of the entertainment industry, as it pertains to actors, is the “hollowing out of the industry.

For all of the murder and crime that occurs in Erotic Thrillers, more often than not, the police are barely present in the subgenre. If the protagonist isn’t a cop, there might be a detective on the margins or a beat cop taking a statement at a crime scene, but more often than not, law enforcement is typically absent.
Fatale upends this convention in part by fusing a stalker/infidelity storyline with a crooked cop plot wherein the jilted woman is also the film’s detective.
The film’s other novel twist, courtesy of screenwriter David Loughery, is that the central pairing is interracial. Loughery, who is white, is no stranger to exploring race in his screenplays: he co-wrote 2008’s Lakeview Terrace, in which Samuel L Jackson is a crooked cop who terrorizes neighbor Patrick Wilson, as well as 2009’s Obsessed, in which Beyonce must defend her marriage from obsessed white woman Ali Larter.

“I’m doing a new exercise today, so don’t take no offense,” Tiffany Haddish announces at the start of our interview (conducted over Zoom before the SAG-AFTRA strike). “But I want to see how I communicate with my eyeballs looking at the back of my eyelids.”
And true to her word, for most of the interview, she kept her eyes closed. It was a first for me. But for some reason it worked. Maybe it was because Haddish is so effortlessly charming and talented or because it is something that her character Danner on Apple TV’s brilliant “The Afterparty,” would do. Especially if she had a case to solve.
This week’s episode of “The Afterparty” is entirely devoted to Haddish’s Danner. As is the case with the rest of the show, each episode takes on the look and feel of a different film genre. And – perhaps...

Where to Watch Powered by The 2020 movie Fatale has become Netflix's top trending movie after struggling at the box office. The movie follows a familiar storyline of adultery, stalking, and poor decision-making that mirrors the plot of Fatal Attraction. Fatale's popularity on Netflix can be attributed to a combination of Covid-19-related delays, genre interest, and the streaming service's lack of hit new movies in summer 2023.
Fatale might be Netflix's top trending movie, but the film's sudden surge in popularity doesn't change the fact that it's a rip-off of a classic 1987 thriller. Directed by Deon Taylor and written by David Loughery, who also collaborated on the 2019 thriller The Intruder, Lionsgate's Fatale has a less-than-stellar track record. After bombing at the box office upon its 2020 theatrical release, the Netflix-streaming psychological thriller seems like fare that would fade into obscurity — or at least off of the platform's homepage. If a college student/budding drug kingpin walks like James St. Patrick, talks like James St. Patrick and dresses like James St. Patrick… anyone in his way better watch out. And because Tariq is becoming more reminiscent of his late father every day — right down to those designer suits, as we see in Power Book II: Ghost‘s full Season 3 trailer — um, Monet? Be careful.
