Barbara Sarpong is a makeup artist and model from Toronto, ON.
She has been a brand ambassador for various companies including Jagermeister, Appleton Estate Rum, Toms Shoes, Boathouse, Ford Canada, Acura/ Honda, Lindt Chocolate, Mac Cosmetics and the list continues to grow.
Starting as a freelance makeup artist in 2015, her love of cosmetics goes back many years. Initially self-taught, Barbara pursued technique training with skilled makeup artists and estheticians, who provided her with her first full-time gig at a spa.
Wanting to expand more specifically with makeup, Barbara then took residence as the makeup artist for The Royal Ontario Museum during their Friday Night Live events between 2015 - 2016, 2017 seasons while representing Ford Canada. During this time she was still pursuing freelance work and continuously creating opportunities for professional growth.
She trained at Ryerson University, where she earned a Professional Development Award in Advanced Make-up Artistry and Special Effects; focusing on make-up artistry in film, TV, theatre, and photography.
Barbara began her career with M.A.C Cosmetics in Fall of 2017. She has always held an appreciation for the brand because they have set standards in advocacy for "all ages, all races, all genders", and have a very socially conscious Viva Glam campaign and Back-2-M.A.C recycling program. Working at M.A.C has allowed her to earn unmatched training from top tier artists in the makeup industry. In June 2018, Barbara Sarpong modeled for the "Aaliyah for M.A.C" campaign which paid tribute to the late chanteuse. The ad was internationally published.
