An award-winning renowned composer known for his work on Iron Man, Pacific Rim, and Game of Thrones, Ramin Djawadi, has scored the soundtrack for Gears of War 4 and the result is enchanting. Check out a preview of it!
The soundtrack that we are privy to in this short example is very reminiscent of moments we've seen/heard in HBO's Game of Thrones. This results in an actually quite beautiful score for a Gears of War game. The Coalition and Microsoft definitely have high hopes for the 4th installment to get a Grammy & Emmy Award winning talent like Ramin Djawadi to pen the score.
None of the previous 3 games had music nearly as deep as what Djawadi is providing. It was mostly just pounding drums and deep tones that resonated with how dark the environment was. Now, a new score wouldn't usually be the selling point for a game. Contrary to that belief,...

Hillary Clinton's celebrity squad is expanding. Like Katy Perry and Lena Dunham before her, Demi Lovato has joined Clinton on the campaign trail, taking the stage for four songs at a rally in Iowa City Thursday night. The 23-year-old singer kicked off the night with her hit single "Confident," a song title which she thinks perfectly suits the Democratic presidential hopeful. "I don't think there is a woman more confident than Hillary Clinton," Lovato told the crowd of 1,700 people gathered inside an auditorium at the University of Iowa. Disney juggernaut set to play in a host of UK independent cinemas but some venues are resisting.
As UK independent cinemas increasingly bite on blockbusters and studio-level films, the majority of London’s independent cinemas will be screening Star Wars: The Force Awakens from Thursday, December 17.
A fleet of London independents, including most of the capital’s Picturehouse and Curzon venues, are due to show the film, helping to boost the site count beyond an expected 600+ venues.
For some, however, it wasn’t an easy decision.
Kate McCarthy, head of business operations at single screen indie stalwart The Phoenix, told Screen:
“The decision was taken to show Star Wars after quite a bit of discussion with our trustees, because obviously it’s not the regular choice for us.”
“We felt we wouldn’t do Star Wars and Spectre because it makes the ‘independent cinema’ tag slightly less true…but we hope it will enable us to show...

Oh my god… Just when you thought Techland’s Dead Island couldn’t get any worse, along comes the sequel!
I think it’s safe to say gamers were severely burned by the original Dead Island – after all the original filmic trailer bore Zero resemblance to the finished product, which itself was full of bugs, glitches and issues that rendered the game almost unplayable. Those that did persevere with the game weren’t rewarded for their patience either. So now comes the sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, which developers Techland promises is a much more polished affair.
They lied.
Dead Island: Riptide continues on with the same abominable problems as the first game, including terrible collision detection that seems to have a mind of its own, ropey graphics complete with tons of screen tear (even in the cut scenes for christ’s sake!), and what look to be unfinished graphics in...

It's time for more sun, surf and zombie decapitation, in Dead island: Riptide...
Although Dead Island hay have failed to fully live up to the hype generated by that awesome trailer, the mixture of Borderlands and Left 4 Dead still made for an enjoyable open-world zombie-masher. Sure, it was repetitive, often glitchy and had one of the worst endgame battles I've seen in recent times, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Now Riptide is here to deliver more of the same, but can it refine the formula?
Dead Island: Riptide returns to the tropical setting of the original, and events take place immediately after the first title's finale. The four immune survivors of the first game land on a military ship, only to be taken into custody by an army-controlling private corporation. Joined by newcomer, Aussie soldier, John Morgan.

There's a certain momentum gathering behind the re-appraisal of old movie scores. John Wilson has gained credit for his diligent reconstructions of classic Hollywood soundtracks, and now the National Youth Orchestra has chosen to lead its spring programme with Erich Korngold's accompaniment to the 1935 pirate adventure Captain Blood.
The buccaneering score established Korngold as the Errol Flynn of studio composers, though, as was standard practice at the time, once the footage was in the can, the full score went in the bin. The Nyo performed a 20-minute suite by John Morgan woven together from surviving parts. The stirring Captain Blood theme felt strong enough to sustain an entire symphony; though whether the teenage generation of 2091 will be playing Klaus Badelt's music for the Pirates of the Caribbean remains to be seen.
Had Stravinsky had his way, we might also be celebrating his movie soundtracks; but, arriving in...

Murphy's (Living Dead) Law: If it can go wrong, it will go wrong--with zombies. That's the moral of developer Techland's new trailer from "Dead Island: Riptide" which introduces us to new character John Morgan and the unfortunate (and predictable) way that the zombie plague will catch up to the first game's survivors.
The new game sees the survivors of 2011's "Dead Island" rescued only to get cast away on another island populated by the flesh-eating dead. The trailer hints at some kind of conspiracy that's likely responsible for the zombie outbreak with ex-soldier John Morgan joining the survival effort as forces unknown try to sanitize the cause of the plague.
The trailer also offers a clip of some gameplay from the unnumbered sequel. Zombie decapitations: confirmed.
"Dead Island: Riptide" will be available on April 23 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Reluctantly believing she is dead, the family of Michelle Parker, the Florida mom who vanished after appearing on The People's Court in 2011, filed a wrongful death lawsuit Thursday against her ex-fiancé, Dale Smith, whom they believe was responsible. Parker's family claims Smith knows what happened on Nov. 17, 2011, the day Parker was last seen alive. "The family doesn't want to believe that Michelle is dead, but they believe that she is," their attorney, John Morgan, tells People. "This is a case that has gone cold, so a civil case is the only way that Michelle's family will finally get answers. Given the passing of time,...

“The Coat Hanger”
Written By: Jennifer Salt
Directed By: Jeremy Podeswa
Original Airdate: 12 December 2012
In This Episode...
This will come as a surprise to no one, but Lana is pregnant with Thredson’s demon spawn. Sister Mary Eunice “assures” Lana that they are well-equipped to deal with her “little miracle.” Lana, naturally, wants it aborted - not likely to happen in a Catholic mental asylum. So Lana does the next logical thing: she steals a wire coat hanger from a rack of dry cleaning and aborts it herself. Lana still has a bloodlust for Thredson, and she goes to Kit (who has been draining his sedative IV drip into the bedpan when no one is looking) to help her. He refuses to kill Thredson until they get him on tape confessing to the murders.
Lana has an idea. She goes to Thredson and shows him...

In episode nine, "The Coat Hanger", viewers finally get to meet the character played by Dylan McDermott. For a a few brief moments we are met by John Morgan, a man trying to overcome compulsions. There is one, small problem: Morgan's compulsions involve skinning women.
In the opening scene viewers learn that Dylan McDermott's character is actually the son of Dr. Thredson. He isn't a doctor like his father, just a mentally-deranged killer. He is the son of Bloody Face.

Destructoid posted an image and character details for the new addition to Dead Island: Riptide, John Morgan.
According to the details of the piece, Morgan is a Navy man-turned-chef with awesome killing power. if you ask me, he's taking a queue from one Mr. Steven Segal's most beloved roles, Casey Ryback in the 1992 gem, Under Siege. Why we didn't just get Segal in the game with Gary Busey joining as a crazed zombie, we'll never know, but you can check out an embiggened image of Mr. Morgan after the jump.

After recently teasing a new playable character for Dead Island: Riptide, Deep Silver has officially revealed new images and details on John Morgan:
“John Morgan is the new, fifth playable character in Dead Island Riptide, that can join the team in addition to the protagonists from the original game. For years he has trained himself – and become a master – in hand-to-hand combat. His career in the Us Navy has not taken off as he originally had envisioned, so he spends his time as a cook on a military ship. Little does he know that soon he will have to bring his skills into practice when the ship nears the island of Palanai…”
Just like the other characters, John is playable throughout the entire game. In Dead Island: Riptide, you’ll be exploring the island of Palanai and here is some information on one of the new locations:

It used to be, Tom Hanks was the everyman who took us into one film after another, giving us a chance to experience the mundane to the fantastic. That role in many ways has been ceded to George Clooney, who displays in one film after another, a charismatic vulnerability that makes you root for him regardless of the circumstances. He brings that empathy to Matt King, the lead figure in The Descendants, out this week from 20th Century Home Entertainment.

Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf is an attempt at an jack of all trades film that starts off revolving around the story of a rookie cop named John Morgan (Andrew Cymek – also wrote and directed) hunting a serial killer nicknamed “The Wolf” whom was responsible for the brutal murder of his little sister. “The Wolf” is best described as a cross between Gwar’s Balzac, Wolverine, and Super Shredder. After capturing “The Wolf” very early on into the film it then transforms into what I though was going to be a psychological thriller in the vein of Silence of the Lambs but instead it becomes a poorly scripted survival horror tale that comes off as a rejected video game script with a overly long intro tacked on in front of it for good measure.

“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition. And it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call The Twilight Zone.”
Or so ran the opening monologue of Rod Serling’s science fiction anthology series…
In each half-hour episode an intelligent, mysterious and often horrific and disturbing scenario was showcased, highlighting the prevalent social & political concerns of the time. Playing up to the Cold War fears of post WWII America and exploiting the paranoia generated by this, Serling and his team produced a series that was truly groundbreaking and with this exceptional debut season now available on an equally spectacular Blu-ray release,...

Although vampire partisans might debate it, zombies are likely the world's most popular monster right now. Zombie movies, television shows and books are big industries that immerse the public in a dysfunctional environment filled with the living dead. Now Yahoo is betting that zombies can be used to teach adults basic economic theory.
Yahoo Sandbox, the internet giant's research division, just released the zombie-themed Shambling Hordes for Halloween. The Flash-based game puts players into the roles of warlords who control picturesque “shambling hordes” of zombies to capture the castle of other users. The zombie hordes then, of course, divide and multiply. In the process, basic elements of game theory, classical economics and budget allocation are slipped in.
Programmers David Reiley and John Morgan tied into a huge groundswell of zombie fascination for their eduware. Fast Company recently reported on AMC's new The Walking Dead television series. Cult-favorite book World War Z...

Chicago – Enter the middle ground between light and shadow with the amazing Blu-ray release of the first season of one of the best television programs of all time — “The Twilight Zone”.
Packed with remarkable special features that are all perfectly shaped around a show that has lost absolutely none of its power despite the decades since its original airing and the myriad of programs that it inspired, “The Twilight Zone: Season 1” is the best TV-on-bd release of the year to date.
Blu-ray Rating: 5.0/5.0
My personal adoration for Rod Serling’s landmark creation is hard to overstate. There was a time when I always had an episode in my DVR from one of its cable airings just in case the mood struck me right or I stumbled upon an episode I actually hadn’t seen. The program helped shape the way I look at science fiction and I believe I...

Every week, Rod Serling’s masterwork of “fear noir” took viewers from the safety of their living rooms on amazing journeys of fantasy and imagination. On September 14th, Image Entertainment will release the complete first season of The Twilight Zone, fully remastered for Blu-ray.

An Information Hound: Mullen grabs a few minutes to read the newspaper in his Pentagon office. | Photo: Olaf Blecker
Admiral Mike Mullen says the sea was his business. Now, as America's top military officer, he's reshaping strategy for a world in which economics and security are intertwined.
On the evening of January 6, Admiral Mike Mullen got into his armored SUV and girded himself for the last meeting of his day. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had been up since well before dawn -- he'd gone to the gym at 4:30 that morning. A bad cold was making him feel as if his head were stuffed with gauze. And his aides? Slave drivers! He'd wanted to cancel his appearance on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, but he had done that once before, and they thought it would be bad form to back out again.

An investigative journalist claims a "tidal wave of evidence" undermines the official conclusion into Britain's Princess Diana's death. John Morgan claims in his book 'Diana Inquest: The Untold Story' that Parisian investigators bungled the inquiry and believes there was a subsequent cover-up by the authorities in France over the death of Diana and her lover Dodi Fayed. An official inquiry into the death of the couple - who died when their car crashed in a Parisian tunnel while being chased by paparazzi in 1997 - found no evidence of foul play, although their driver Henri Paul was found grossly negligent as he was more than three times the drink-drive limit. Morgan claims in his book, however, that Henri Paul was...

Chicago – Fifty-seven years after the original cautionary tale became a sci-fi classic, director Scott Derrickson and stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly are returning to the big screen with a remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.
Never a studio to let a cross-marketing possibility pass it by, Fox has released the original classic on Blu-Ray in a special edition packed with informative and interesting special features. The jury may still be out on the critical and commercial success of the remake, but this special edition proves that the original still has dramatic power and an important place in film history.
To fully appreciate the significance of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, one must place it in the context of when it was released. The tension of the nuclear world of the late ’40s and early ’50s led to a society of fear and paranoia. As made clear in the excellent special feature,...
