Alexa Curtis is an American lifestyle blogger and the founder/CEO of Life Unfiltered with Alexa, formerly A Life in the Fashion Lane, a lifestyle website for young adults and parents. Curtis was born and raised in Mansfield, Connecticut.[3] She attended Stagedoor Manor and Atlantic Acting Theater during her summers when she was younger. Her first television appearance was on Fox News in Connecticut when she was in 7th grade. Curtis founded Life Unfiltered with Alexa, formerly A Life in the Fashion Lane in 2011 when she was 12 years old, after suffering with her own body image and confidence issues.[5] She began attending New York Fashion Week when she was 14.[6]
In 2016, Curtis founded her nonprofit Media Impact and Navigation for Teens, that is modeled on the curriculum of D.A.R.E.[6] In 2017, She began getting sponsored by British Airways when she was 16.[7] When the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why was released, Curtis wrote a piece for Rolling Stone which gave her access to shows on NBC Nightly News,[8] CNN,[1] and CTV.[9][10]
In 2017, Curtis's nonprofit Media Impact and Navigation for Teens was profiled on CNN,[1] Refinery29,[11] Rolling Stone,[12] and Galore Magazine.[13] Curtis was also in the print edition of The Chronicle, a local Connecticut paper, that featured her in their profiles section.[14]
