Prime Video has greenlit Season 2 of the hit Spanish series, “Dias Mejores” (“Better Days”), after the success of its first season. Created by Cristóbal Garrido and Adolfo Valor, the new season will continue to follow the stories of its lead characters Sara (Marta Hazas), Pardo (Erick Elías), Graci (Alba Planas), Luis (Francesc Orella) and Dr. Laforet (Blanca Portillo).
News was announced at the Iberseries & Platino Industria television event that was held in Madrid over Sept. 27-30.
The co-production between ViacomCBS International Studios (Vis) and Madrid-based Zeta Studios, producers of Netflix hit, “Elite,” will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Spain.
Season 1 was showcased at March’s Malaga Festival. The new season just started shooting and includes an additional robust cast led by Marta Aledo as Emi, Sara’s sister; Carol Rovira (“#Luimelia”) as Claudia, the teacher of Pardo’s children, and Sonia Almarcha (“The Good Boss”) as Maite, the mother of Graci’s late boyfriend.

Today’s film is the 2009 short La Concejala Antropofaga, also known as The Cannibalistic Councillor. The short stars Penelope Cruz, Marta Aledo, and Carmen Machi, with the latter two reprising their roles from the 2009 feature Broken Embraces, and is written and directed by Pedro Almodovar, under the pseudonyms Harry Caine and Mateo Blanco. Almodovar has been a respected filmmaker on the international stage for numerous decades, with features such as Volver and All About My Mother. His newest feature, I’m So Excited, opens in wide release in American theatres this weekend.

Sony Pictures Classic has released domestic trailer for Pedro Almodovar’s latest film “Broken Embraces” (”Los abrazos rotos“).
“Broken Embraces” synopsis: A man writes, lives and loves in darkness. Fourteen years before, he was in a brutal car crash on the island of Lanzarote. In the accident, he not only lost his sight, he also lost Lena, the love of his life.
This man uses two names: Harry Caine, a playful pseudonym with which he signs his literary works, stories and scripts, and Mateo Blanco, his real name, with which he lives and signs the film he directs. After the accident, Mateo Blanco reduces himself to his pseudonym, Harry Caine. If he can’t direct films he can only survive with the idea that Mateo Blanco died on Lanzarote with his beloved Lena.
