New Delhi, Oct 16 (Ians) The Indian Premier League (Ipl) has asked the ten franchises to submit their list of retained players by November 15 with the upcoming mini-auction likely to be held in the third week of December.

During the upcoming mini-auction, the teams will get extra Rs 5 crore, in addition to the money left over from the previous auction, to spend which will make the overall auction purse Rs 95 crore, an ESPNcricinfo report said.
Notably, Punjab Kings had the largest purse left – Rs 3.45 crore – after last year’s auction, while Lucknow Super Giants had exhausted their entire purse. Chennai Super Kings had Rs 2.95 crore remaining, followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 1.55 crore), Rajasthan Royals (Rs 0.95 crore...

Hazlewood says no other Australian ground is as well suited to the day-night concept as the Adelaide Oval.
"The curator has got the most opportunities to work on those wickets, having had so many pink-ball games at Adelaide. I think it could be Melbourne or Brisbane with the red ball early in the summer, for the first Test, and then we can head back to Adelaide later in the summer," the right-arm fast bowler told Channel Nine.

Sydney, Nov 19 (Ians) Australia's national cricket team coach Justin Langer has praised fast bowler Kane Richardsons decision to withdraw from the upcoming limited-overs series against India and spend time with his family and newborn son.
"When we talk about family and looking after each other and in this case with Kane, he has made a very courageous decision to not play this series and be with his family," Langer was quoted as saying by Channel Nine.
Cricket Australia replaced him with pace bowler Andrew Tye for the series which includes three ODIs and three T20 Internationals starting November 27.
"It was a difficult decision for Kane to make but one which has the complete support of the selectors and the entire playing squad," CA national selector Trevor Hohns said on Wednesday.

Sydney, Nov 18 (Ians) Strict quarantine measures may force players to pull out of overseas trips, senior Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has said.
Hazlewood's comments came after Australian pace bowler Kane Richardson on Wednesday pulled out of the limited-overs series against India forcing Cricket Australia (CA) to replace him with Andrew Tye.
"These two weeks are the hardest coming back from an overseas tour. That will weigh on a few guys' decisions if we are touring overseas and this is still what has to happen when you have to return," Hazlewood was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
"I think bubble life is a lot easier than quarantine. There is a few things you can get out to do and playing cricket as well -- that is a huge bonus. It is different for everyone. If you had to keep doing these two-week stints every time we come...

Richardson has withdrawn from the squad to be with his wife and their newborn son, Cricket Australia said in a statement.

Dubai, Oct 31 (Ians/GloFans) Consecutive wins in their last two matches have given Rajasthan Royals (Rr) hope for qualifying for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (Ipl) and the Steve Smith-led team will aim to capitalise from the situation when they face a deflated Kolkata Knight Riders (Kkr) here on Sunday.
Both Rr (bet run rate -0.377) and Kkr (-0.467) have equal 12 points each from 13 games. However, it is Rr's superior net run-rate that gives them an edge. Rr will be looking for a big win to stay ahead in middle of the jam-packed table with every team, except Chennai Super Kings (Csk), still afloat.
Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson rediscovering their form has been the catalyst for Rr in their recent matches while skipper Smith, Robin Uthappa, and Jos Buttler were also handy with the bat in their game against Kings XI Punjab.

Abu Dhabi, Oct 31 (Ians) Jofra Archer has been the lone ranger in Rajasthan Royals' (Rr) pace attack, with statistics revealing not just his brilliance but also a lack of depth in support for him.
The English pace bowler is Rr's leading wicket-taker this season with 19 scalps. The rest of the fast bowlers in Rr's squad have taken those many wickets combined.
The collective haul of Ben Stokes, Kartik Tyagi, Jaydev Unadkat, Tom Curran, Ankit Rajpoot and Andrew Tye is 19 wickets. Varun Aaron hasn't taken a wicket in the two games he has played.
While Archer has used 51.4 overs to get his wickets, the rest of the Rr pace bowlers have used up 114.2 overs to get those many wickets.
Archer's economy rate has been just 6.69 runs per over whereas the combined economy rate of the rest of the pacers has been 10.5.

Abu Dhabi, Oct 29 (Ians/GloFans) With five wins on the trot, a rejuvenated Kings XI Punjab (Kxip) will look to further boost their playoff hopes when they face Rajasthan Royals (Rr) in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (Ipl) on Friday.
While Kxip (12 points) have turned it around after going on a dismal run in the first half of the season, Rr (10 points) have been wildly inconsistent in the latter half of the season and desperately need a win to be alive in the race for the playoffs season at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Kxip captain Kl Rahul (595 runs from 12 matches) has been leading the batting from the front and has received good support from his opening partner Mayank Agarwal, who missed last two games due to bruised knee.

Abu Dhabi, Oct 24 (Ians/GloFans) The 2008 Indian Premier league (Ipl) champions, Rajasthan Royals (Rr), may be placed at the seventh spot at the moment. However, the Steve Smith-led side is still afloat in the competition and would hope to strengthen their chances to qualify for the playoffs when they take on a confident Mumbai Indians (Mi) here on Sunday.
While Mi hold the top spot in the eight-team standings, Royals have managed just eight points from 11 matches so far. Mi still have four more matches to play, and another win will seal a playoff berth, and a defeat could further worsen Rr's already slim chances.
Rr suffered an eight-wicket hammering against Sunrisers Hyderabad (Srh) as all their batsmen failed to convert starts. They boast some modern-day greats like Ben Stokes, Smith and Jos Buttler but the trio has failed in making a bang.

Perth, Oct 23 (Ians) The Perth Scorchers have strengthened their top-order for the upcoming Big Bash League season, with the signing of explosive England opening batsman Jason Roy. Roy will play alongside countryman Liam Livingstone in orange this year.
"The Scorchers squad looks very strong, I'm excited to be joining the club," Roy said in a statement.
"I've heard the environment of the club is awesome and that it's a place where everyone wants to help get the best out of each other. I can't wait to get amongst the boys and help contribute to as many wins as possible," he added.
With over 200 T20 matches to his name, Roy comes with a wealth of experience and the enviable reputation of a power hitter capable of match-winning brilliance. The explosive opener has devastated new-ball attacks on the international stage with a strike rate of 147.51 across his T20I career.

Abu Dhabi, Oct 18 (Ians/GloFans) Chennai Super Kings (Csk) and Rajasthan Royals (Rr) have a chance to jump out of the bottom three of the Ipl table when they face each other at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Monday. Both sides are on six points and Csk are one place above Rr on sixth because of their superior net run rate.
Csk's top order of Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu showed they have regained their touch in recent matches, while Ravindra Jadeja was also quite handy with the bat in their last game against the Delhi Capitals (DC).
However, the form of captain Ms Dhoni could be a cause of concern. The veteran wicketkeeper batsman has not been able match up to the lofty standards he has set over the years with the bat this season. With 3,994 runs from 169 games, Dhoni is also the leading run-scorer for his side.

Dubai, Oct 16 (Ians/GloFans) After a dismal outing against Kings XI Punjab (Kxip), the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rcb) will be eager to get back on track when they take on an inconsistent Rajasthan Royals (Rr) in their return fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League (Ipl) season at the Dubai International Cricket stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Though Rcb remain static at third spot in the standings despite enduring an eight-wicket loss against Kxip on Thursday, Kohli & Co need to tighten their seat belts as the league is now heading towards its business end.
Rcb tinkered with the batting line-up against Punjab and it backfired completely. An in-form Ab de Villiers was demoted to number six while Shivam Dube was promoted up the order. However, the ploy didn't work.

Dubai, Oct 13 (Ians/GloFans) Rajasthan Royals (Rr) will try and avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC) on October 9 when they meet here on Wednesday.
The Steve Smith-led Rr are placed at the sixth place in the standings, and would hope for a spirited show in order to keep their play-offs hopes alive.
On Wednesday, Rr have a bright chance of settling scores against the Shreyas Iyer-led DC as they have their most lethal weapon, Ben Stokes, back in the side.
The England all-rounder, who opened the innings against SunRisers Hyderabad (Srh), would be hungry to deliver after a below-par show on Sunday, which was also his first game of the season.
It will be interesting to see if the Rr think-tank once again asks Stokes to open the innings or send him to bat in the middle-order as his side lacks a genuine finisher or power-hitter there.

Dubai, Oct 10 (Ians/GloFans) The David Warner-led SunRisers Hyderabad (Srh) will aim to keep their good show going when they take on an out-of-form Rajasthan Royals (Rr), who have suffered a string of defeats, in the 26th match of the Ipl here on Sunday.
The 'Orange Army' will aim to replicate their performance of the previous match in which they hammered Kings XI Punjab by 69 runs at the same venue, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Rr had started the proceedings well but their campaign looks to be getting off the track as the Steve Smith-led side has failed to be consistent. Even their star players are out of form and are unable to fire as they did during the early days of the 2020 season.

Sharjah, Oct 9 (Ians/GloFans) A struggling Steve Smith-led Rajasthan Royals (Rr) will aim to get back to winning ways when they face a confident Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (Ipl) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
DC are happily sitting at the second spot on the table with eight points from five matches while Rr are seventh in the eight-team competition with four points from five matches.
So far, DC have clicked all the boxes, with both their batsmen and bowlers living up to the expectations. The main reason behind DC's success is that they have been making collective efforts.
Opener Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, captain Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Marcus Stoinis have been contributing with the bat.
In their last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Stoinis came down the order and made a 26-ball unbeaten 53 to propel his side to a decent total.

Dubai, Sep 29 (Ians/GloFans) In-form Rajasthan Royals (Rr) will aim for a hat-trick of wins when they square-off against two-time Ipl winners Kolkata Knight Riders (Kkr) at the Dubai International Cricket stadium here on Wednesday evening.
After defeating Chennai Super Kings (Csk) in their campaign opener, the Steve Smith-led Rr overhauled the highest tournament total of 224 against Kings XI Punjab (Kxip) in their previous match. They are high on confidence as they take another step towards qualifying for the playoffs, though that is a bit far at the moment.
Rr opener Sanju Samson and skipper Smith smashed half-centuries in the game against Kxip. However, with the match slipping away from their hands, Haryana all-rounder Rahul Tewatia's blitzkrieg bought them back in the contest. Once again, all eyes will be on Samson, who has two half-centuries from as many games, and Tewatia, who smashed 53 off 31 balls against Kings XI Punjab.

Sharjah, Sep 26 (Ians/GloFans) The K.L. Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab (Kxip) began their Ipl campaign on a losing note but they bounced back in grand style by outshining Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rcb) in their second outing. On Sunday, they will be up against a confident Rajasthan Royals (Rr), who are now evenly poised with the return of Jos Buttler along with mentor Shane Warne.
In their last game, Rahul single-handedly blew the Virat Kohli-led Rcb away with his unbeaten 132. Later, the Punjab bowlers also rose to the occasion and bundled out Rcb for a paltry 109, setting up a massive 97-run win.
The Kxip team management will hope its players to replicate the show against Rr. However, the only headache for Kxip will be the silence of Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran in the middle-order and the team management would likely try to make some minor changes here.
