There are three things that make CoComelon – Nursery Rhymes distinct from the other channels in this month’s U.S. top five. For starters, the California-based hub is the only children’s channel in that group. It’s also the only company-led channel amidst a mix of creators.

The month of April brought some surprises to our Tubefilter charts.

The channel that dominated the U.S. Top 50 is still on top of the heap in March, though the distance between it and the rest of the pack is thinning.
A hilarious Shorts hub is gaining group on the chart’s leader. Meanwhile, further down the ranking, a few channels are finding that it takes two to tango.

Three of the top five channels in this week’s chart occupy different positions than they did seven days ago. Those winds of change didn’t blow through the #1 spot, which is still held by T-Series. Three of the top five channels in the ranking (and six of the top ten) increased their viewership by at least 10 week-over-week. The #1 channel in the chart isn’t part of that group, though it also got more traffic than what it earned a week ago.

"It is a restless moment. She has kept her head lowered ... to give him a chance to come closer. But he could not, for lack of courage. She turns and walks away."
So reads the opening chyron at the beginning of Wong Kar-Wai's smoldering 2000 pseudo-romance "In the Mood for Love," a film about two attractive, well-dressed people who spend a lot of time in restaurant booths staring at one another with longing in their eyes, only to turn away from each other and go their separate ways.
The two people in question are Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung, two of the biggest movie stars in the world. Leung looks irresistibly dashing with his impeccably combed hair and clean suits, and Cheung's hair and dresses are so dazzling they can only be the result of a supernatural effort. These two characters ache to have an affair and spend the entirety...

No matter how action films evolve over the years, John Woo remains one of the most influential directors of his generation. The genre wouldn't be what it is today without Woo's elegiac, balletic action sequences, his inventive (not to mention bombastic) use of gunplay, and of course his penchant for slow motion. But Woo's signature style wasn't born in a vacuum. The director has always worn his influences enthusiastically on his sleeve — and endearingly, Woo takes influence from anything he can. When recording commentary for his 1992 hit "Hard-Boiled," Woo admitted that he tries "to get something from everything" he sees. It could be a classical movement from a composer like Richard Wagner, a painting by Van Gogh, or a Bugs Bunny cartoon — in some way, they'll end up informing his work.
Woo also draws steady inspiration from two classic genres: the musicals of Hollywood's Golden Age, and the pulpy Westerns that dominated the '60s.

It may have seemed unthinkable a few years ago for top actors to be on social media, sharing the minutiae of their day or interacting with fans in the comments. But today, most major stars have turned to social platforms like Instagram, YouTube and, more recently, TikTok to boost their fan followings and make some — or a lot of — extra cash along the way.
These stars are taking a page from digital creators, who have forged lucrative careers and found fame through sharing content online. Digital creators, in turn, have looked to Hollywood as a place to expand their careers beyond the small screen.

Obi-Wan Kenobi may have been released as a limited series but director Deborah Chow isn't closing the door on more Star Wars. Following the season one finale June 22, Chow explained why Disney+ hasn't announced a season two yet. "For this one, we really did conceive it to be a limited series," she told Entertainment Tonight June 22. "It really is one big story with a beginning, middle and end. So, we weren't thinking past that." However, Chow acknowledged that many people, including lead Ewan McGregor, are hoping to see more of this Star Wars story. And she's open to fulfilling this request "if it was to go forward," she said, "it would only be...

No one needed “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
The Star Wars limited series on Disney+ was always going to tread familiar territory, picking up with the aging Jedi (Ewan McGregor) between events of “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope.” Most characters’ fates were known between existing Star Wars shows and movies, which arguably lowered the show’s narrative stakes — but ultimately increased its emotional impact.
The final episode is as strong a case as any for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” to remain a one-season wonder. The show is six episodes of galactic therapy for fans and characters who spent years reconciling what happened between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope,” but it neatly threads that needle and doesn’t need to continue. McGregor may not reprise this character or utter the words “Hello there” ever again, but it is a satisfying sendoff that leaves the character with something resembling catharsis.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” finale on Disney+.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi” has completed its six-episode run on Disney+, which begs the question: will the “Star Wars” series return for Season 2? “Obi-Wan” was developed and billed as a limited series, but so was “Big Little Lies” and “The White Lotus.” The series came to a conclusive end with young Leia being safely returned home, Reva overcoming the Dark Side and Obi-Wan back on Tatooine looking after Luke. There were no major cliffhangers, although Darth Vader still looms large. One person definitely eager for “Obi-Wan” Season 2 is the Jedi himself, Ewan McGregor.
“I really hope we do another,” McGregor told British GQ before the finale aired. “If I could do one of these every now and again — I’d just be happy about it.”

This Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi article contains spoilers.
Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6 closes another chapter in the wise Jedi Master’s life, but is this really the last we’ll see of Ewan McGregor in the Star Wars universe? The final scenes of the show certainly suggest that this is the end of the road. Obi-Wan has saved Leia, made peace with Anakin’s fate, and ended his watch over Luke until the time is right. He even reunites with his old master Qui-Gon Jinn, setting up Sir Alec Guinness’ own story arc in the Original Trilogy — Obi-Wan will learn how to become one with the Force. Soon, he will be more powerful than Darth Vader can possibly imagine.
But let’s face it: Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s ratings have been massive on Disney+, with the most watched debut in the streaming service’s history. If there’s an appetite for more Obi-Wan,...
