It's looking like Wipeout is all washed up on ABC. The competition series hit some lows in the ratings last summer, was left off the schedule this summer, and now, it's been removed from the network's website.
On Wipeout, contestants try to make it through the "world's largest obstacle course." The person that makes it in the shortest time wins a cash prize. The program is hosted by John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner.
The show's ratings have been coming down over the years and the seventh season was no exception. The 12 episodes, which finished airing in September 2014, registered just a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million viewers. That was down about 10% season-to-season.Read More…...

The ratings for Wipeout have come way down over the last few seasons but ABC keeps bring it back. Will the numbers continue to fall or will they rise? Will this game show be renewed for an eighth season or will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned to find out.
On Wipeout, contestants try to make it through the "world's largest obstacle course." The person that make sit in the shortest time wins a cash prize. The program is hosted by John Anderson, John Henson, and Jill Wagner.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

Much to my surprise, Wipeout: Create & Crash is a game that a fair amount of Wii U owners should consider picking up. Is it a shining example of the Wii U’s prowess as a competent next-gen contender? No. Is it up there on the level with Nintendo’s polished, first party family games like Nintendo Land? Well, no, not really. Wipeout: Create & Crash is none of those things, and it doesn’t always control perfectly or behave the way you’d like it to either, but all said and done it somehow manages to feel and play like a barrel of monkeys, with maybe one or two of them lagging behind or keeling over.

ABC's obstacle course competition show "Wipeout" often airs in the spring and summer, so viewers might think that it's as warm for the folks on the television as it may be outside. That is often emphatically not the case.
"Wipeout" returns to the schedule on Thursday, May 9, but production started months earlier. On this particular February day, it's bright and sunny at the show's location north of Los Angeles, but a ferocious cold wind is blowing, whipping up dust and chilling cast, crew and visitors.
It's also a little hard on the competitors -- in this episode, it's brains versus brawn, with smart geeks taking on bodybuilders -- who must wipe out into frigid water and then step out into a gale.
"You guys came on a colder day," says host Jill Wagner, drawing her denim jacket tighter around her. "It's been pretty nice for us the whole season, but today,...

ABC has renewed reality series Wipeout for a sixth season when the show will mark its 100th episode. The network didn’t specify whether the obstacle course show will air again in the summer. Jill Wagner will return as co-host after Vanessa Minnillo replaced her in Season 5. Hosting are John Anderson (Espn’s SportsCenter) and John Henson (E!’s Talk Soup), with Wagner co-hosting. The ever popular Big Balls will be back, along with new obstacles and completely redesigned Wipeout Zones. While not as strong in the ratings as it was early in its run, Wipeout is still one of the few broadcast shows that put on some numbers during the summer. ABC boasts that it is the 2011-12 season’s No. 1 show overall for Family Co-Viewing on the major networks (Adults 18-49 watching with Teens and Kids). Wipeout executive producers are creator Matt Kunitz and Scott Larsen. Endemol USA is producing.

ABC is transporting its summer series "Wipeout" into the dead of winter.
The network has ordered eight episodes of obstacle-course competition/people-falling-down show to air starting in January. The course will be given a "Winter Wonderland" makeover full of snow and ice, along with new stunts with names like Polar Bear Run, Wipeout Ski Lift and Spanker Sleds.
John Anderson, John Henson and Jill Wagner will return as hosts.
There's no word on where the show will fit into the schedule, although it would be a logical fill-in for the "Dancing With the Stars" results show on Tuesdays. It joins a fairly extensive lineup of midseason series on ABC, including the recently moved "Body of Proof," returning show "V," medical dramedy "Off the Map" and comedies "Happy Endings" and "Mr. Sunshine," as well as the next edition of "The Bachelor."

"Wipeout" is back on ABC this summer -- with almost a completely new set of obstacles for the contestants. Zap2it caught up with host Jill Wagner to dish about the bigger, badder "Wipeout" courses.
"They completely revamped the whole thing and I have to say, my favorites haven't come up yet," Wagner teases. "I can't give it away, but I love how we just added trickery into the course now. As if it wasn't hard enough now we're tricking people."
When asked what her favorite part about the contestants is, she says, "I love the fact that everybody likes to bring stuff for me. One of the executive producers actually told me that one of the episodes is called 'Feed Jill.' People bring me food, I don't know why! But keep it up! Keep it coming."

Jill Wagner is tough. Not only does she take barbs from 'Wipeout' co-hosts John Henson and John Anderson like a champ, she does it all on the ground where mud flies, water splashes and contestants are dropping like flies.
'Wipeout' is returning for a third season (premieres Thurs., June 22, 8Pm Et on ABC) and they've got a twist on the "motivator" and some new themed episodes to spice things up. Of course, when you combine a theme like moms and sons with those Big Balls, it's TV gold. "Moms and sons definitely need to experience Big Balls together," Wagner says with a straight face. Love her.
Watch and see what else the delightful Ms. Wagner had to say about meeting fans, taking bribes to get people on the show and why "watching people fall is just funny." Agreed!

Whatever you do, do not compare the sadistic ABC game show "Wipeout" to any one of those sadistic Japanese game shows that it resembles so closely, especially those that have been airing for years on American cable.Simply put, the producers of "Wipeout" and ABC don't want to hear that the series, a hit drawing a weekly average of about 10 million viewers since its debut last month, looks just like the popular Spike TV show "Mxc."
