J.K. Simmons has joined the cast of Jason Reitman’s SNL 1975, and not only will the Oscar winner be playing Hollywood legend Milton Berle, but he’ll have the notable distinction of becoming the first actual SNL host to join the cast of the Sony movie.
Simmons hosted the Jan. 31, 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured D’Angelo as the musical guest. At the time, Simmons was riding high off an Oscar nomination for Whiplash, and he would go on to win the Academy Award following his SNL hosting stint.
Meanwhile, Berle hosted SNL on April 14, 1979, and Ornette Coleman was his musical guest. It’s unclear where Berle fits into Reitman’s movie at this moment in time.

Jennifer Lawrence provided the 2024 Golden Globes with one of its funniest and most unforgettable gags. As the award for best actress in a motion picture comedy or musical was being announced, the Oscar winner mouthed “If I don’t win, I’m leaving!” direct to the camera when her nomination was said. Lawrence was nominated in the category for her performance in the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.”
Emma Stone ended up winning the Golden Globe for her performance in “Poor Things.” Stone and Lawrence are close friends, and Lawrence stood up and cheered when Stone’s name was announced as the winner. Additional nominees in the category were Fantasia Barrino for “The Color Purple,” Natalie Portman for “May December,” Alma Pöysti for “Fallen Leaves” and Margot Robbie for “Barbie.”

Merry Christmas, you filthy animals! Here's a little Christmas bonus for you all: the Empire Podcast's Review Of The Year. 2023 (for that is the year in question) was a year that gave us so much, cinematically speaking, from Barbenheimer to Empire's official number one film, :a[Past Lives]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/past-lives/' }, and everything in-between, including the first signs of weakness in the previously invulnerable Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And, in this near three-hour special, Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara, James Dyer, and Ben Travis discuss all of that, and much, much more. Much, much, much more, in fact. However, Chris is very aware that, even though he set it up, he got distracted and forgot to talk about the brilliant scene in :a[No Hard Feelings]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/no-hard-feelings/' } where Andrew Barth Feldman sings Maneater, and would like to rectify...

Actress Rachel Zegler, who is currently gearing up for the release of her live-action version of ‘Snow White’, has said that she had bonded with actress Jennifer Lawrence on the set of ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’.
Speaking to ‘People’ magazine at the London premiere of the franchise’s latest outing, Zegler, 22, opened up about how appearing in the movie spin-off has brought her close to the Academy Award-winning ‘X-Men: First Class’ alum, 33.
She said, “I had already filmed it when I had met her and we really just were able to bond over the fact that we know so many of the same people.”
Funny enough, she also went on to say that Lawrence hadn’t realised that they had so many mutual friends in the ‘Hunger Games’ world, including director Francis Lawrence, who filmed three of the movie’s franchise sequels and returns to helm the latest installment.

This article contains No Hard Feelings spoilers.
According to Jennifer Lawrence, she had zero intention of making No Hard Feelings or any other film when the script landed on her desk. Having gone through filming Don’t Look Up during the pandemic and recently giving birth to her son, the Oscar-winner was ready to take a rest. But that was before she read a screenplay by Gene Stupnitsky and John Phillips so deliriously funny she couldn’t say no.
A little over a year and a half later, that appeal is still shocking audiences as the exceedingly R-rated and raunchy comedy finds its second life on streaming via Netflix. And at least per the anecdotal reaction my social media feed showed over the weekend, the film’s already most infamous scene is still having the desired effect of getting tongues wagging—and hopefully laughing.

Jennifer Lawrence stars in the raunchy comedy "No Hard Feelings," which was released this summer in theaters. In the film, which is streaming now on Netflix, Lawrence plays an Uber driver named Maddie whose car gets repossessed, leaving her out of a job. To make matters worse, she's also on the verge of losing her childhood home. Let’s get this out of the way. Yes, Jennifer Lawrence is fully, frontally, nude for a few minutes of this rom-com. It’s in character and far from salacious, merely adding to the humor and delineating her character.
That said, the R-rated rom-com No Hard Feelings out now from Sony Home Entertainment, is disappointingly predictable, using the nudity to break the typical pattern, adding little to the genre, which needs some fresh life.
Lawrence’s Maddie Barker is in dire need of a new car after the one she used for her Uber gig got repossessed to pay tax debts. She’s 32, barely hanging on, and in need of a lifeline.
Said lifeline comes in the form of the Beckers (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick) who want their son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) to gain some confidence and maybe some sexual experience before heading off to Princeton in the fall.

Directed by Gene Stupnitsky, No Hard Feelings is a raunchy comedy that tickles your funny bone and, at the same time, makes you think about youth and the possibilities it holds. There are many hilarious moments in the film. All thanks to the performances that go in with all they’ve got to make the writing work.
No Hard Feelings‘s story revolves around Maddie Barker, who lives a lighthearted and casual existence, not fretting too much about her future. But when her car is towed away by her ex-lover, she realizes how much trouble she is finally in. Luckily, she finds a wealthy couple who are looking for a one-of-a-kind arrangement; they propose that she ‘date’ their son as a job, and she would be paid handsomely, even taking home a car. There is a freshness to this film, and I think Jennifer Lawrence’s performance is the key.

No Hard Feelings is finally coming into your homes. The R-rated raunchy comedy movie starring Jennifer Lawrence in the lead is releasing on digital, Blu-ray, and DVD this month. No Hard Feelings is set to be released digitally on August 15 and on Blu-ray and DVD on August 29.

No Hard Feelings: Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD details announced for Jennifer Lawrence’s raunchy comedy
Gene Stupnitsky’s raunchy R-rated comedy, No Hard Feelings, is coming to the home market later this month. According to Sony Pictures, the hilarious and decidedly horny comedy releases on Blu-ray and DVD on August 29, with the Digital release coming next week on August 15. Maddie’s mission is to cure Percy Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman) of his insecurity and turn him into a medalist in the Bedroom Olympics if you catch my drift.
The comedy comes from Gene Stupnitsky, who co-wrote 2011’s Bad Teacher and 2009’s Year One.

Original R-rated comedies are a dying breed in theaters, which is why all eyes were on Jennifer Lawrence's "No Hard Feelings" heading into its release this summer. The film casts the Oscar-winner as Maddie, a woman who tries to solve her financial woes by responding to a Craigslist ad to "date" an unworldly, college-inbound 19-year-old named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) at the behest of his wealthy, meddling parents (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick). What could possibly go wrong?
Directed by Gene Stupnitksky from a script he's credited for writing with John Phillips, "No Hard Feelings" wasn't exactly a hit (it grossed $83.5 million against a $45 million budget). It did, however, fare much better than other recent adult sex comedies at the box office, which is our cue to pour one out for "Bros" and "Joy Ride." Reviews were pretty decent too; /Film's Josh Spiegel gave it a 7 out of 10 in his review,...

and Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) and Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) in Columbia Pictures. No Hard Feelings. In the new movie No Hard Feelings, Andrew Barth Feldman is put in the enviable position of being courted by Jennifer Lawrence … even if it’s his character’s parents who (financially) arranged for it to happen. Of course, that put Feldman himself in the enviable position of shooting some intimate scenes with Lawrence. He certainly wasn’t complaining — in fact, he told us that she was perfect for the film, and vice versa. Jennifer Lawrence’s press tour for “No Hard Feelings” has included her frank thoughts on fighting naked and getting nervous around Method actors, but perhaps her rock-bottom moment in promoting the R-rated comedy came when she “violently” threw up after appearing on “Hot Ones.” The YouTube series has celebrities being interviewed while eating increasingly spicy chicken wings. Lawrence had a breakdown midway through her interview as the spice became too much and caused her to cry, drool and panic on camera. The “Hot Ones” interview has earned 6.6 million views on YouTube in just five days.
“I passionately threw up after. Violently,” Lawrence told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live,” while also revealing that her “Hot Ones” interview was filmed on location at the film’s press junket.
“I made it upstairs to my suite. My holding suite,” Lawrence said. “We shot at the Four Seasons downstairs [during the ‘No Hard Feelings’ press junket]. My stomach gave me,...

Last week’s new release “No Hard Feelings” has already stirred up some tough emotions for its audience — and not about the so-called “raunchy” and “offensive” comedy at the center of the Jennifer Lawrence-led feature. Instead — and predictably enough — the media narrative has centered on what is missing from the movie…namely, all of Lawrence’s clothes in a scene that sees skinny-dipping turned into a brawl.
Why, in 2023, do audiences still care so much? Both Lawrence’s agency as an actress and producer, as well as her choice to be naked, are undermined by questioning the merits of going full frontal, and sadly, that’s what much of the criticism surrounding “No Hard Feelings” is focused on.
In the film, Lawrence portrays down-on-her-luck Uber driver/bartender Maddie, who struggles to live in the wealthy beach town of Montauk after rapid gentrification. Maddie answers a Craigslist ad from a...

Jennifer Lawrence auditioned to play Bella Swan. On “The Rewatchables” podcast, the 32-year-old actress revealed that she auditioned, and was quickly rejected, to play the leading role in “Twilight”.
“I auditioned for ‘Twilight’. They turned me down immediately,” she revealed. “I didn’t even get a callback.”
If she had landed the role that ultimately went to Kristen Stewart, Lawrence said her “life would’ve been totally different.” Her life did change about a year later when she landed the role of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” franchise, a part she wasn’t sure she should accept.
“I almost didn’t do ‘Hunger Games’ because ‘Twilight’ had come out and that fandom had happened,” she said of the vampire franchise’s massive success. “When I was trying to talk to people about making this decision after they offered it to me, I was just like, ‘I don’t know.

Los Angeles, June 27 (Ians) Actress Laura Benanti, who has shared screen space with Jennifer Lawrence in ‘No Hard Feelings’, has gushed over the Oscar-winning actress and said that she is not a “princess”.
“You immediately forget she’s a movie star when you meet her,” said Laura Benanti.
“She’s so down to earth.”
Lawrence stars in ‘No Hard Feelings’ as an Uber driver who agrees to date a wealthy couple’s (Benanti and Matthew Broderick) socially awkward 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman) in exchange for a car, reports ‘Variety’.
“Sure, at first I was nervous because it’s like, ‘How are you so beautiful?’” Benanti said of Lawrence. “But then I was immediately laughing with her. She’s so funny, silly and a hard worker. She’s not a princess. She is comfortable being uncomfortable.”
In one much-buzzed-about scene, Lawrence is completely naked during an epic fight on the beach.

The makers and stars of ‘No Hard Feelings’ have defended the film against criticism its plot is creepy. It shows Jennifer Lawrence’s 32-year-old character hired by a couple of helicopter parents to “date” their 19-year-old son, played by Andrew Barth Feldman – which has sparked backlash on social media and among critics due to the concept of hiring a woman and the pair’s age difference. Matthew Broderick, 61, who plays Andrew’s dad in the film, told The Hollywood Reporter: “I guess what happens is when a kid goes off to school, it’s so frightening that they’ll be happy and they’ll make friends and they’ll take care of themselves that some parents go to any length to make that transition work. “And it’s a hard time. I’ve been through it. But you really have to let them make it on their own. But...

Box Office: Spidey Edges Out ‘Elemental’ to Win Weekend, ‘The Flash’ Barely Beats ‘No Hard Feelings’
In a box office upset, Sony holdover Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse edged out Pixar’s Elemental to win the weekend all the way in its fourth outing. Rarely does a film reclaim the top spot like that amid fierce summer competition.
Spidey took in an estimated $19.3 million as it raced past the $300 million mark domestically to finish Sunday with a North American total of $317.1 million and an impressive $560.3 million worldwide.
Elemental took in an estimated $18.5 million upon falling only 39 percent in its second weekend, a strong hold after suffering the worst start in the modern history of Pixar. The film’s hold means it’s being helped by strong word of mouth. The pic’s domestic 10-day total is $65.5 million. Overseas, it earned $31.3 million as it expanded into a total of 40 markets for a foreign tally of $55.6 million and $121.1 million. The Disney/Pixar release has numerous major markets left in which to open,...

Somewhere across the multiverse, “The Flash,” once touted by its own studio as “one of the greatest superhero movies of all time,” should be towering over the box office with ease in its second weekend of release.
But in this universe, audiences are flat-out rejecting the Warner Bros. movie, starring Ezra Miller as the eponymous, timeline-spanning speedster. Rather than taking a victory lap, the DC comic book adventure is cratering in third place behind holdovers “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and Pixar’s “Elemental” and ever-so-slightly ahead of Jennifer Lawrence’s new R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.”
Over the weekend, “The Flash” suffered a brutal 73% decline in its second weekend with $15.3 million from 4,265 North American theaters. That’s a far bigger drop than recent DC adaptations like “Black Adam” (59%) and “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” (69%), which ended up as notable money losers for the studio.

Los Angeles, June 25 (Ians) Actor Andrew Barth Feldman believes his generation is constantly fighting “fear and comparison”.

In Sony’s new comedy No Hard Feelings, Jennifer Lawrence’s 32-year-old character is hired by a couple of helicopter parents to “date” their 19-year-old son, played by Andrew Barth Feldman.
Yes, in both the ad the parents post on Craigslist and in the awkward in-person meeting of Lawrence’s Maddie with the mother and father played by Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick, date, in quotes, appears to be a euphemism.
“Do you mean date him or date him?” Maddie pointedly asks when she meets the parents.
“Date him hard,” Broderick’s Laird blurts out.
“I’ll date his brains out,” Maddie chimes in.
It’s this initial premise, included in the film’s trailer and based on a real ad from a decade ago unearthed by the film’s producers and shared with writer-director Gene Stupnitsky, that has sparked a social media backlash to what seems like a creepy concept,...

Chicago – Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t hold back and gives it her all in the “Hard R” rated sex comedy “No Hard Feelings.” But despite her herculean efforts, the film only manages the occasional tee-hee when it should be scoring guffaws. You’ve got to hand it to Lawrence for going all in, I just wish the script rewarded her efforts.

“No Hard Feelings” came out on top of the domestic box office on its opening day, bedding $6.25 million in Friday and Thursday preview screenings from 3,208 venues. Meanwhile, the top spot for the weekend is a battle between animated adventures; both “Elemental” and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” are staying above “The Flash,” which looks to be collapsing in its second outing.
Heading into the weekend, Sony and Columbia’s “No Hard Feelings” was projected to launch with a mild $12 million. The raunchy R-rated Jennifer Lawrence vehicle is already outrunning those estimates, now forecasting a debut of $15 million or so.

There’s high drama at the domestic box office this weekend, where Pixar’s Elemental and Sony holdover Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are in a close race for No. 1.
Based on Friday business, the two pics could gross anywhere from $17 million to $19 million for the weekend. Some are giving Elemental a slight edge. The pic is falling off 39 percent or less in its second weekend, a strong hold for a film that many had written off. Elemental’s performance is an indication that families are discovering the movie thanks to good word of mouth.
Across the Spider-Verse continues to be one of the highlights of the summer box office, considering it is now in its fourth weekend and will finish Sunday with a domestic total north of $300 million.
The news isn’t so good for The Flash, which opened opposite Elemental last weekend. Both started off to decidedly dismal results.

Jennifer Lawrence has no hard feelings over offending audiences.
The Oscar winner and “No Hard Feelings” actress-producer told Sky News that the hallmark of a great comedy film is making viewers uncomfortable.

Jennifer Lawrence’s new R-rated comedy, “No Hard Feelings,” hits theaters this weekend and made $2.15 million in previews at the box office.
The raunchy comedy from Sony is predicted to open with a soft $12 million in its opening weekend, which may not bode well considering its $45 million budget. It’s been a tough time for R-rated comedies at the box office lately, with the once profitable genre nearly going extinct. Besides this year’s “Cocaine Bear,” which made $87 million worldwide, the last few comedies, like Sony and Bert Kreischer’s “The Machine,” Billy Eichner’s “Bros,” Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert De Niro’s “About My Father” and Jo Koy’s “Easter Sunday,” haven’t not found much box office success.

Plot: Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) must pay back taxes on her home, but as a ride-share driver, her livelihood is taken away from her when her car is repossessed. Thus, she answers an unusual ad, where a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) offers a car to anyone willing to “date” their shy son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), who they want to come out of his shell.
Review: No Hard Feelings is half of a good, old-fashioned, raunchy sex comedy. It’s unapologetic about its premise where Jennifer Lawrence’s Maddie is happy to deflower the virginal Percy for a free car. Still, as a concession to how controversial the premise is proving to be, it piles on the sap in the film’s second half. Nevertheless, it has some really funny moments and an outstanding performance by Lawrence, who has real comic chops.

Jennifer Lawrence is hilarious. Sure, she made her name as an actor in dead-serious indie dramas (The Burning Plain, Winter’s Bone), franchise tent poles (The Hunger Games trilogy, those X-Men 2.0 blockbusters), the kind of nerve-shredding films that fall somewhere between horror and thriller (House at the End of the Street, Passengers), and whatever category you care to slot Mother! into. Filmmaker David O. Russell figured out early on that Lawrence was a perfect fit for his skewed, neurotic dramedies, and it’s impossible to think that Silver Linings Playbook and...

Sony opening ‘No Hard Feelings’ in 554 cinemas.
Universal is opening Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City in 347 cinemas across the UK and Ireland this weekend, one month after the film premiered in Competition at Cannes Film Festival.
Anderson’s 11th feature film follows a writer’s play about a grieving father who travels with his tech-obsessed family to a rural town, to compete in a junior stargazing event, where his worldview is forever changed.
The filmmaker has united perhaps his starriest cast yet for Asteroid City, including Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Maya Hawke, Rupert Friend, Jeffrey Wright,...

Cinema roll-call! Alright, it’s the Summer movie season, and what stalwarts have already taken over the multiplex? Big superhero epic? Check and double-check! Action blockbuster franchises? Check? Family-friendly animated features? Check! Raunchy slapstick comedy? Hello…Anyone there? Oh yes, finally it’s here just as Summer officially begins. And this is indeed rated “R” as in raunchy, ribald, and risque. much in the same vein as The Hangover trilogy and the American Pie dynasty of flicks (theatres and straight-to-video). Oh, for those of you that think these flicks are too “low brow” and “classless”, well the “above the title” star is an Oscar winner, so there! And if you think such a genre is “beneath her”, I’m sure she hopes you’ll laugh and that there will be No Hard Feelings.
The star in question is Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the “barely making ends meet” Maddie Barker. She...

In a midweek upset, Sony holdover Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Pixar’s new animated Elemental edged out Warner Bros.’ DC superhero tentpole The Flash at the Wednesday box office.
Both The Flash and Elemental opened over the June 16-18 weekend to decidedly dismal results. The former started off with $55 million for the three days, well behind expectations and notably below the $67 million collected by fellow DC pic Black Adam last year (the Dwayne Johnson-starring film was considered a major disappointment).
The Flash was one of the most-hyped titles on the 2023 summer release calendar, if not the year, despite star Ezra Miller’s personal problems and multiple arrests in 2022. All indications pointed to The Flash opening to $100 million or more domestically when Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav took the stage in late April at CinemaCon, triumphantly telling theater owners it was the best superhero pic he’d ever seen.

When the trailer for Gene Stupnitksy’s No Hard Feelings made the rounds online, it felt like a mild event. Not only for a return to big theatrical releases for star Jennifer Lawrence, but also a return of the big-budget, theatrically released sex comedy, a genre that has been mostly relegated to streaming. It was great to see one of the few remaining stars who can draw an audience throw her considerable influence behind a straight-up comedy.
But for No Hard Feelings to salvage comedy it must actually be funny. And overall it is. Lawrence plays Maddie, a 32-year-old Uber driver whose car is repossessed for her failure to pay property tax. She answers a Craigslist ad that offers to trade a Buick as payment for “dating” the owner’s sheltered son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). Maddie takes on the assignment to find Percy is not the horny teen she expected,...

The age of raunchy comedies is back with No Hard Feelings which his theaters everywhere on June 23. This feature comedy Sees Maddie (played by Jennifer Lawrence) on the brink of losing her home, so she finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son Percy out of his shell before college. She has one summer to make him a man or die trying.
Today on JoBlo, we go one on one with the Percy himself Andrew Barth Feldman as he talks about filming a raunchy comedy, working with Jennifer Lawrence, the musical number in the film, as well as the fun he had on set with everyone and more! To note, this was Feldman’s first major movie, and it was actually shot right around where he grew up, in Upstate New York. A self-admitted nerd in high school, one thing Feldman said...
