This action film about a smuggler and the cop on her tail invites comparisons to the Michael Mann thriller – which it conspicuously fails to live up to
The plot of this trite crime thriller revolves around two women: desperate single mother Holly (Danielle C Ryan), who gets caught up in smuggling black market pharmaceuticals, and Ptsd-afflicted veteran and FBI field agent Jaylynne Jackson (Diora Baird), who is assigned to bust the smuggling operation. The narrative crosscuts between their parallel stories, with their paths crossing only briefly at first at a petrol station. Later they have a sitdown in a diner to discuss their antagonism, which suggests writer-director Shane Stanley and co think they’re tipping their hat to Michael Mann’s Heat but with two women instead of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Although it’s an interesting idea, sadly the execution is dire, with cliche-riddled dialogue as cheesy...

Night Train is a movie by Shane Stanley in which we can see Diora Baird in a very American thriller. The co-star is Abraham Benrubi.
The plot is about a Hollywood truck driver who avoids being pursued by the FBI. Our dear Diora Baird will piece everything together in this action thriller written by Shane Stanley.
Souped up cars, races and lots of road humor in this production with a very American flavor.
Our Opinion Night Train (2023)
This isn´t going to be the blockbuster of the year. It is a very simple thriller done with just enough resources and which is happy to be a secondary market product.
You can get an idea with this information and a little imagination (without much malice or sarcasm).
Coches tuneados, carreras y mucho humor en la carretera para esta producción con un ssabor profundamente americano.

Jimmy has just lost his brother and is taking his ashes to the coast to scatter them in the ocean. As bad as that is, things promptly get worse when a stop at a convenience store puts him in the middle of what seems to be a very well-armed robbery. Only the cashier, her name is Natasha takes out the robbers with a shotgun and a throwing knife before grabbing her backpack and bolting.
But Jimmy’s bad day is far from over as he finds Natasha has stowed away in his vehicle and a couple of big black SUVs full of goons are on their trail. He’s not sure whether to be relieved or terrified when she easily dispatches them.

Jimmy (Matthew Lawrence) cowers in the store, in Double Threat. Courtesy of Vmi Worldwide and Rolling Thunder Films
Double Threat is an action comedy based on a variation of a familiar theme: a mild-mannered nice guy meets up with a crazy hot gal for a zany round of dangerous encounters. In this case, Matthew Lawrence (Joey’s younger brother) goes to a convenience store managed by a seemingly nice, cute woman (Danielle C. Ryan) who suddenly goes Rambo when a couple of armed thugs enter the premises. She disposes of them and dashes out, jumping into Lawrence’s truck. He drives off in a state of confusion.
He soon learns she’s skimmed big bucks from a crime boss, and the bad guys are hunting her down, led by his wannabe “Goodfella” son (Kevin Joy). Lawrence next learns his passenger is actually two dissociative personalities in one body. She is Natasha by name,...

Fire City: Interpreter of Signs is an upcoming demon fantasy thriller set against the noir backdrop of a shadowy atmospheric world, where demons live among humans who are blind to what they really are.
The story follows Atum Vine, a 700-year-old demon with an attitude. To the humans who live unwittingly alongside him in a derelict tenement building, Vine is just the drug dealer at the end of the hall. But to the demons also living on the floor, Vine is a procurer of human misery, which they need to survive.
After Vine’s flow of addicts shuts off unexpectedly and apparently for no reason, Vine consults Cornelia, an interpreter of signs. She is a fortune teller in the demon world and an enigma even Vine can’t quite figure out.
We got a chance to catch up with Danielle Chuchran, the young actress who plays Cornelia, during our recent set visit for the film.

We were lucky enough to get to play with demons on the set of Fire City: The Interpreter of Signs earlier this month while the complex “horror noir,” which is the brainchild of writer-producers Brian Lubocki and Michael Hayes, was shooting.
It’s directed by F/X master Tom Woodruff, Jr., and stars Tobias Jelinek as Vine the Demon, who must square off with an even eviler Demoness, Cornelia (played by Danielle "Dani" Chuchran).
We had a chance to talk with the actors plus the director and his two right-hand practical effects guys (his son, David Woodruff, and Academy Award winner Dave Elsey), but in this installment you'll hear from the originators of Fire City: The Interpreter of Signs, Lubocki and Hayes.
Dread Central: So… what’s the Fire City story in this film? It's based on your body of shorts and other works set in this world, correct?

I’m sure “The Hobbit” will be great and all, but when you compare the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on those films to what the filmmakers behind the independently-produced “The Shadow Cabal” are working with, there’s no denying Arrowstorm Entertainment and Mainstay Productions know how to maximize even the smallest of budgets. From director John Lyde, the film tells the story of an agent of the Order named Keltus (Richard McWilliams) as he attempts to hunt down the mysterious Shadow Cabal. After hitting a dead end, Keltus teams up with an elven bounty hunter (Danielle Chuchran) and orc raider (Paul D. Hunt) in order to get back on the [ Read More ]

The great thing about horror is the pure freedom of ideas and uniqueness it can bring to the world of filmmaking. Arrowstorm Entertainment's new action horror flick 'Osombie' is a prime example. The John Lyde helmed horror sees a zombified Osama Bin Laden come back from the dead to form a new army of undead terrorists. It actually sounds fantastic! The trailer which was revealed last week and contains the hilarious pre-cursor warning 'The following contains scenes of zombie violence and gore and muscular men with their shirts off' can be viewed in all its glory below along with a brand new one-sheet from the production. 'Osombie' stars Corey Sevier, the sexy Eve Mauro (below), Jasen Wade, Danielle Chuchran and William Rubio. Snow Beast is a sasquatch-ploitation film that was released on DVD October 4th. This b-movie styled film also has a date with destiny January, 2012 when the film will have a television premiere on the SyFy Network. This film stars John Schneider and Jason London in a creature feature flick that involves a bear hugging Yeti and characters wandering about the woods oblivious to this white haired menace. Truly comedic, Snow Beast has to be seen to enjoy all the humour housed within.
Several researchers head up to Canada to complete their study on lynxes. Something strange is afoot however as all of the animals in the area have begun to disappear, including people. Those hiking in the woods or stopping for a piddle are soon consumed by a seven foot animal that looks straight out of Empire Strikes Back (a wampa). Did they borrow the same suit?...

We here at Dread Central love Sasquatchploitation. We love any movie that features a man in a rubber monster suit. That’s probably why a movie like Snow Beast leaves us giddy. John Schneider vs. an Abominable Snowman…what’s not to love?
Jim (John Schneider, “Dukes of Hazzard”) and his research team study the Canadian lynx every year. This year he has to take his rebelling 16-year-old daughter, Emmy (Danielle Chuchran, You’re So Cupid!), with him. But the lynx are missing. As Jim and his team--with the help of a local ranger (Jason London, Dazed and Confused)--try to find out why, something stalks them: a predator no prey can escape.
SunWorld Pictures has slotted filmmaker Brian Brough’s PG-13 foray into killer Yeti territory for an October 4th release date.
Take a gander at the Snow Beast trailer below if you need a good reason to mark your calendar.

Those with an eye towards the next potential "Harry Potter"/"Twilight" phenomenon are all focused on one property: Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games."
With director Gary Ross racing like Seabiscuit towards a fast-approaching March 2012 release date, the film adaptation of Collins' futuristic young adult book series is creating a whirlwind of Tinseltown intrigue, especially as to who nabs the über-coveted role of Katniss.
One major possibility for that lead role is "True Grit" Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld. The 14-year-old's portrayal of strong-willed Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers western makes her ideal for the arena gladiator Katniss, and on last night's Oscar red carpet she confirmed to MTV News that she is indeed in discussions with Ross to potentially take the part.
"It's definitely something that we're taking one day at a time and making sure that everything is in place," said the cautiously optimistic youngster.
Although nothing is official yet,...

As director Gary Ross begins preparations to adapt [1] one of the most popular books of the past few years, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the most important decision he must make is casting his lead character: Katniss Everdeen. A self-sufficient, 16-year-old bad-ass female hero, Katniss is one of two kids selected from her district to compete in the annual titular fight to the death; a government organized, televised event in which only one child will survive and bring glory to their people. It's a decision almost on par with Chris Columbus choosing Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter or Catherine Hardwicke casting Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. The role of Katniss Everdeen has the potential to be that iconic. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ross confirmed that he has not yet spoken to any actress about playing the role but will start to do so soon. And when he does,...
