When GloRilla arrives at a Hollywood bowling alley, she’s clearly off the clock, cozy and happy to be among familiar faces. No cameras, no fans — just her team, the two friends she came with, and a handful of security to ensure it stays that way. She’s relieved, at least in this moment, that no one is coming over to speak to her. In two days, it will be exactly one year since the release of her breakout single, “F.N.F. A week after Taylor Swift‘s deluxe edition of “Midnights” knocked Morgan Wallen‘s “One Thing at a Time” off its Billboard 200 perch comes another album to steal the country star’s thunder. K-pop band Stray Kids have achieved their third chart-topper as “5-Star” debuts at number-one. Read more about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
“5-Star” achieved 249,500 equivalent album units based on its combined record sales, individual track sales, and online streams, with traditional sales making up the lion’s share of its total. Stray Kids previously debuted at number-one with “Oddinary” in March 2022 and “Maxident” that October, so the group has achieved its hat trick in just a little over a year’s time.
SEEJanelle Monae ‘The Age of Pleasure’ reviews: It’s a ‘horny ode to erotic delight,’ but is it as good as her past work?

With seventeen albums and mixtapes to his name, Moneybagg Yo has long established himself as one of the true pillars of modern-day Memphis hip hop. The rapper took a hiatus of sorts after the release of his excellent 2021 Gangsta’s Pain, a highly polished yet soulful effort that deepened his gruff, loner persona on relatable and explosive hits such as the ultra-fun revenge anthem “Time Today,” Now, he’s back with a vengeance on one of his most personal offerings to date, Hard to Love.

The first day of Coachella was jam-packed with major artists making moves, while the second day seemed to revolve around pure pop. Sunday, day three, featured the weekend’s most eclectic lineup, with all kinds of genres represented on every stage. In the early afternoon, the Argentine rock band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs got people moshing, while GloRilla delivered hard-hitting bars just moments afterwards. Kali Uchis mesmerized the crowd with her luxe brand of R&b, and Björk transformed the festival into avant art in one of the most impressive and intricate performances of the evening.

Billboard has announced its finalists in 62 categories for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. That includes five new categories celebrating achievements on global and viral charts. These awards are not based on artistic quality, per se. They’re also not decided by fan votes, though popularity is the name of the game. These awards honor Billboard chart achievements based on album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social engagement from April 10, 2021 through March 26, 2022. Scroll down to find out who made the cut.

He released a new album, “Dawn FM,” in January, which has one nomination at these awards. Instead, his biggest achievement recognized this year is “Save Your Tears,...

Polo G has brings a couple stacks to the car dealership in the new music video for “Fortnight.”
The Ryan Lynch-directed clip opens with the rapper pulling a few bags of money out of a Louis Vuitton backpack and using it purchase a brand new red Corvette (a scene that’s, of course, followed by a requisite shot of the car’s loud motor revving). From there, the clip captures Polo G performing “Fortnight” in a stately mansion, while it also features some footage of the rapper taking photos with fans.

When news broke of the tragic death of Memphis rapper Young Dolph on the afternoon of Nov. 18, it was a sorrowful reminder of the way violence has robbed us of so many hip-hop greats. Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. in Chicago and raised in Memphis, was innately talented. He possessed the kind of laconic Southern swagger that by now is enshrined in hip-hop mythology. A fiercely independent outlaw from the outskirts of the mainstream, able to fire off a chart-topping record nonetheless.
