Scotty Moore, longtime guitarist and close friend to Elvis Presley, died on Tuesday. He was 84. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist performed on the King’s classic hits such as “Hound Dog,” “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Blue Suede Shoes.” Moore, who had been in poor health in recent months, died at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, the Commercial Appeal reported. Mack Rice, the soul legend who was best known for his 1965 hit “Mustang Sally,” has died. He was 82. The musician passed away on Monday at his Detroit, Michigan, home from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. His death was confirmed by family friend Pat Lewis in a statement to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Bonny “Mack” Rice, who was also known as Sir Mack, was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and broke onto the R&B music scene during the 1950s, performing with the Five Scalders and the Falcons, a group whose members included Eddie Floyd, Wilson Pickett and Joe Stubbs.

‘The X Factor’ returned for a super-sized premiere event, and without getting to ahead of myself, I think we might have already met this year’s winner.
The X Factor‘s two-night season premiere continued Sept. 12, and although the second night didn’t have quite as many sexy grandmas as the first, it was still bursting with talent. In fact, it featured what Simon Cowell called the best auditions he’s ever seen on the show — including one young gentleman from Long Island who might just be the next Justin Bieber. Only taller and less Canadian.
