Robert Dwan was born on April 1, 1915 in San Francisco, California, USA. He was a director and writer, known for Tell It to Groucho (1961), You Bet Your Life (1950) and Lassie (1954). He was married to Lois Dwan. He died on January 21, 2005 in Santa Monica, California, USA.
Dwan said he never really directed Groucho Marx; he simply let him go on and
say whatever he wanted. Afterward, Dwan edited it to fit the 30-minute
time slot and to pass muster with the network censors.
Joined You Bet Your Life (1950) as its director when it debuted on radio in 1947 and
moved with it to television in 1950. Continued directing the show until
it went off the air in 1961.
