The only motocross rider in history to have a "perfect season" (2002)
which was the 24-moto outdoor national MX series. Ricky Carmichael rode
flawlessly and dominated the field by scoring 600 of 600 possible
points for the national championship. Also in that season, "RC" won 13
of 16 supercross rounds and was the first rider to ever come back and
win a race from last place in both position and points, (DNF'd first SX
round at Anaheim). He dethrowned the "King of Supercross" Jeremy
McGrath in 2001 for the Supercross and outdoor Motocross titles and
shows no signs of giving up his titles anytime soon. Left Team Kawasaki
after 10-plus years to join Team Honda as the highest paid rider to
date.
Highest paid Motocross racer to date (2 million per year with Team
Honda).
