Rod is an internationally renowned shipwreck explorer and best selling author of 13 books about diving shipwrecks and naval history. His dive guides to world famous wreck sites include Dive Scapa Flow (which covers the remains of the German High Seas Fleet scuttled in the Flow in 1919) and Dive Truk Lagoon - the Japanese WWII Shipwrecks, which covers the 40+ shipwrecks in the Truk Lagoon sent to the bottom by the fast carriers of US Task Force 58 in 1944.
Rod has led a number of Explorers Club flagged expeditions, such as in 2016 when he was granted a Licence from the UK Secretary of State for Defence to survey the protected wreck of HMS Hampshire off northwest Orkney on which Lord Kitchener perished in 1916. He also led a survey of the two K-class submarines sunk during the Battle of May Island off eats Scotland in WWI.
Rod regularly appears as an expert in shipwreck TV programs such as Drain the Oceans and dived the Corryvreckan Whirlpool for Equinox - Lethal Seas, Maelstrom. He is a Fellow of the Explorers Club of New York and a Patron of the GB & Ireland Chapter.
