A passionate Sound Designer and a Non-Classical Music Composer known for the film, KADASEELA BIRIYANI.
"Nature is a 24x7 jukebox. I create with what I listen and hear"
He has spent his years imagining and composing altered sonic realities for his compositions in motion pictures, documentaries, and short films. He is an outspoken proponent of sound as art with sonic explorations and compositions reflecting consciousness, spirituality, healing and other possible experiments in the world of sound. Being a non-musician, he has avowed the idea that all organized sound is music, where the possibility of creating a new sonic experience is becoming unimaginably possible. In Movies, he sees his works' every bit as a composition like the ones who define the world of sound through futuristic mediums for a remarkable experience. "I use dissonance, spacious melodic content and arrhythmia to their fullest advantage in creating soundscapes as it is now my medium of expression. My works are no less considered, designed, creatively challenged or manipulative. They just aren't hummable ;-) "
"Nature is my source! and it is everywhere; blended well with the human-made artificiality."
An Indian native from Pondicherry, Vinoth Thanigasalam attended College as a Computer Science Engineer but could not ignore his love and passion for films and filmmaking. Besides developing his career in Sound Design, he also explored other parallel art forms like Graphic Design, Photography, Film Appreciation, Recording Arts, etc to support his living since 2009. Been worked in dual roles as a courier boy in the day and a xerox machine operator guy in the evening, later landed a job in the entertainment industry as a Graphic Design Chief for a major magazine firm which was the breakthrough in his career growth. So his journey from a courier boy to a xerox machine operator to a photographer to a graphic designer has come a long way who is now an efficient Sound Designer, whom every filmmaker would love to work with.
"Be it good or bad, nothing is a waste in terms of experience. Likewise, nothing is a waste in art. Not when you know to use it. It is an intelligence and gift of knowing How, When and Where to use."
"I am more fascinated by the works of the filmmakers who had contributed and still contributing to transforming the language of filmmaking. My ears, having been trained by observing for years and now, researching and exploring such fascination suited me well to create a career of creating unimagined aural worlds, critical listening and fabricating sonic realities for a better experience in motion pictures."
"No matter what the art form is. I believe, the more you observe, explore and understand art; the more you understand Life and its forms."
Today he works on interesting projects of regional languages in India continuing as a Sound Designer, Background Music/Score Composer, Supervising ADR/Dubbing Engineer, Supervising Sound Editor and Re-recording mixer.
