Chronicling the eponymous Navy flight squadron across a season of demonstrations, “The Blue Angels” easily ranks near the top of the many Hollywood films to be considered “military propaganda” for their glowing depiction of the activities of U.S. men and women in uniform.
Whether or not that’s a good thing may come down to one’s feelings about the U.S. military. But in selecting for its subject an organization that performs a service that is itself public relations — and notably involves no battlefield operations — Paul Crowder’s Imax documentary feels both more honest than most in its intentions and more effective in highlighting that organization’s excellence.
Framed by the sun-up-to-sundown schedule maintained by the pilots themselves, “The Blue Angels” examines the precision, resilience and especially teamwork that goes into performing a series of dizzying, extremely dangerous aerial maneuvers. Less a celebration of the U.S. Navy’s Mavericks than its Top Guns,...

Running for 6 seasons from 2010-2015, Justified was a popular neo-Western that still holds a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and regularly pulled in over 2 million viewers.
Throughout the series, Raylan Givens (played by Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) were one-time colleagues but now adversaries. Crowder, a career criminal, was a recurring character in Season 1 who became a regular in Season 2 and was at odds with lawman Givens.
As the series went on, though, it appears the fictional rivalry spilled out into the actors' real lives.
The two 'weren't talking' by the end of the show
In an interview with The Independent, Goggins (who's currently filming the next season of White Lotus) said the pair 'had a tough time towards the end of Justified' as they were 'so deep into these people we were playing, and they were polar opposites'.

Walton Goggins is an incredible actor, a fact long proven by his amazing performances across different platforms. Yet to say that he takes his acting game even a step further in Prime Video’s Fallout would not be an understatement.

A man who was falsely accused of carrying out a deadly mass shooting in Allen, Texas has sued multiple prominent right-wing influencers and conservative media outlets for libel over their coverage of the massacre.

If you’ve ever donated blood, you know part of the process is a lengthy — and slightly invasive — questionnaire regarding your medical, travel, and even sexual history. It’s a bit annoying, but helping maintain the national blood supply for medical emergencies is worth it. In 2021 the Red Cross issued guidelines that allow those who have received the Covid-19 vaccine to donate so long as they’re not actively experiencing symptoms from the vaccination.

Trae Crowder and Corey Ryan Forrester share a lot in common, starting with both being stand-up comedians from the South. They both got big boosts in their careers after posting viral videos — Crowder in 2016 with “The Liberal Network,” in which he delivers scathing political commentary you might not expect to gibe with his accent, and Forrester in 2021 with his alter ego “Buttercream Dream,” a faux professional wrestler who proves to be surprisingly enlightened.
At the same time, the two have very distinct styles of comedy that have complemented each other as they collaborate on several projects. With fellow comic Drew Morgan, there’s the wellRED Comedy Tour and podcast, along with the book “The Liberal Redneck Manifesto.” And Crowder and Forrester also host the Puttin’ on Airs podcast and have just released a new book, “Round Here and Over Yonder: A Front Porch Travel Guide by Two Progressive Hillbillies”

Timothy Olyphant’s return to the role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval completed its eight-episode limited series run tonight on FX. Surviving the Oklahoma Wildman Clement Mansell (Boyd Holbrook), Givens seemed headed to a proper retirement, hanging up his badge and gun for a quiet life in Miami. Just when he was finally out — a pensioner content to refurbish a Florida shack and dote on the daughter he neglected for years — with the promise of a relationship with lawyer Carolyn (Aunjanue Ellis)…up pops Boyd Crowder, the charming silver-tongued psychopath played by Walton Goggins. This article contains spoilers for Justified: City Primeval.
When FX announced a new limited series featuring Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), fans of Justified were excited, but skeptical. The original run of Justified from 2010-2015 was some of the greatest television in recent memory, separating itself from the rest of the pack. Based on the works of Elmore Leonard, the series was equal parts country-fried charm and law-and-order procedural, where viewers could often find themselves cheering for the criminals as often as they did law enforcement.
Justified also ended as powerfully as it began, with arguably one of the most satisfying finales which not only sewed everything up, but was downright touching as well. Which means that new showrunners Dave Andron and Michael Dinner were playing with Kentucky fire – if Justified: City Primeval was a let down, it could ruin the hard work the original series put in for six years.

The original “Justified,” developed by Graham Yost from Elmore Leonard’s book, “Fire in the Hole,” stands the test of time for several reasons. Its case-per-season approach makes each new investigation as accessible as it is arresting. Its star, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), is a classic cowboy in a modern world, not always bucking against the trends but still stubbornly adhering to his own sense of right and wrong. Olyphant’s soft drawl and charming fortitude — peppered with terse quips and curt advice — go a long way on their own, though any assessment of “Justified” must give equal weight to Boyd Crowder, embodied with iconic verbosity and verve by the great Walton Goggins.
For six seasons, “Justified” thrived as a two-hander; it wasn’t that Raylan and Boyd were always on opposite sides, so much as their lives ran in such consistent parallel to one another that...

While Pedro Pascal will now and forever be associated with "The Mandalorian," as he has helped bring the title character of the beloved "Star Wars" show to life, the actor is only owed partial credit these days. Pascal has confirmed that he is mostly just providing the voice for Mando these days, with the rest of the team doing the heavy lifting on set. So for those who may have been wondering how much time Pascal spends on set, the answer seems to be close to none at all.
Pascal recently participated in a roundtable with several other actors for The Hollywood Reporter, including Kieran Culkin ("Succession") and Jeff Bridges ("The Old Man"). During the conversation, was asked how he balanced being in both "The Last of Us" and "The Mandalorian." The actor was asked if his work in "Star Wars" can just be voiceover, and Pascal said, "For a lot of it,...

Betty Gore died on June 13, 1980. Her church friend Candy Montgomery swung the axe that killed her. Those facts form the basis for two TV shows released in the past 12 months: HBO Max’s “Love & Death” starring Elizabeth Olsen and Hulu’s “Candy” with Jessica Biel. Both are set in Wylie, Texas before and after the attack; both try to understand the events that shook the town.
Yet very early on, “Love & Death” locks in the difference in their ambitions with a disclaimer: “This is a true story.” The five words at the top of every episode might be a subtle jab at other interpretations; it could be a device designed to keep HBO Max subscribers’ attention. It’s definitely a declaration of intent. Where “Candy” addresses the levels of rationalization of which people are capable, “Love & Death” ticks more boxes on the “true story” checklist.

Conservative podcaster Steven Crowder‘s leaked rant to his then-pregnant estranged wife in June 2021 has opened the door to many ex-staffers and collaborators speaking out against his allegedly abusive behavior.
The video, which was leaked last week, displays an angry, unhinged Crowder cursing at his wife, Hillary Crowder, and telling her he does not love her.
As the two are locked in divorce proceedings, Hillary’s family released a statement regarding a pattern of abusive behavior which she tried to hide from friends and loved ones.
As the video circulated online, many former employees of Crowder are attesting that this behavior is not surprising, and that he has a history of mistreating people.
Some employees anonymously told New York Post stories of Crowder screaming, berating blaming staff, and even exposing his genitals to the team.
Crowder was once a child actor who became a rising young comedian.

Though Tom Pelphrey was already a two-time Daytime Emmy-winner for his work in the daytime drama “Guiding Light” and had been working steadily on stage and screen, his move to “Ozark’s” third season took his career to a new level. He blazed onscreen as Ben Davis, the bipolar brother of Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), and seemingly shot to stardom overnight. It’s been a busy couple of years for the actor both professionally and personally — his partner Kaley Cuoco gave birth to their first child, a daughter, on March 30. And now Pelphrey is starring in “Love and Death,” HBO Max’s limited series from David E. Last week at Star Wars Celebration, Disney released a flurry of exciting announcements, such as an Ahsoka trailer and three new movies (which are really, truly going to happen this time, promise!). Yet while fans embraced the news, the crown jewel of Disney’s Star Wars TV universe — The Mandalorian — was arguably having its worst week ever.
The show’s latest episode, “Guns for Hire,” scored the drama’s weakest fan reviews (via IMDb) since the neo-Western sci-fi drama launched four years ago. The episode wasn’t entirely an outlier, as fan gripes about the show’s third season have been rising in general, with the series’ Rotten Tomatoes user reviews this season plummeting from their usual low-90s perch to just 57 percent and its IMDb average similarly (though not as sharply) ebbing downward.

Through six seasons exploring the thin line between law enforcement and the criminals they chase, FX's "Justified" introduced a handful of villains for U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) to hunt down across the rough-and-tumble Kentucky landscape. Memorable turns by Margo Martindale as the whip-smart bootlegger Mags Bennett and Michael Rapaport as the conniving, drug-dealing Daryl Crowe Jr. helped populate the series with threatening characters that always wound up being much more clever than you might expect. Sam Elliott also made a rare turn as the legendary gangster Avery Markham in the final season. Eight new episodes are on the horizon with the upcoming "Justified: Prime Evil," which will see Raylan testing his old cowboy ways in the city of Detroit, where he will be pitted against a new adversary known as "The Oklahoma Wildman" (Boyd Holbrook).

Spoilers for "The Bad Batch" Season 2 Episode 13 - "Pabu" follow.
Omega (Michelle Ang) and The Bad Batch (Dee Bradley Baker) have cut ties with Cid (Rhea Perlman) and decided to adventure across the galaxy with Phee Genoa (Wanda Sykes), as they look for a new way to sustain their lives.
When Phee learns that the Batch has been dodging Cid's calls, she offers to take them to her homeworld, a tropical paradise called Pabu, a place where they can let Omega have a childhood and be free of the yolk of the Empire for a while.
They like it there well enough, but something is wrong. A ground quake of some sort hits the small island community and causes a tidal wave. The Bad Batch springs into action, helping evacuate the lower parts of the island and rescuing Omega and her new friend, who were out to sea when the quakes hit.

The Mandalorian has quickly become one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars franchise. Pedro Pascal is credited for playing Din Djarin/the Mandalorian, but did you know he isn't always in the suit? During the 2022 Star Wars Celebration event, Pascal joked that Grogu has "two other daddies" because it takes multiple people to bring the character to life. So, who's really wearing the helmet? Well, it's actually a combined effort between Pascal and his doubles Brendan Wayne (who is the grandson of John Wayne) and Lateef Crowder, who both bring their own unique skills to the Mandalorian character.
In the 2020 docuseries "Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian," Pascal explained that Wayne and Crowder are behind a lot of the character's mannerisms and stuntwork. "I'm modeling my performance around their physicality in a lot of ways, and I wouldn't be able to do it without them,...

With the anxiously awaited third season of "The Mandalorian" coming to Disney+ on March 1, the current crown jewel of the "Star Wars" galaxy is going to quickly become much larger in scale and more epic in tone. The previous two seasons introduced lone bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adorably cute cargo, Grogu, as they traversed the Outer Rim Territories in search of a Jedi capable of training the Mandalorian's small but powerful young passenger. In "The Book of Boba Fett," which essentially operated as "The Mandalorian" season 2.5, Grogu made the choice to return to Mando's care, setting the stage for a Force user to actually be welcomed into Mandalorian culture.

According to Lieberstein, who wrote and directed the episode, the parkour scene wasn’t choreographed. He did tell the actors that the goal was to “just mess up the room as much as possible.”
However, after an underwhelming first take, Lieberstein made a change.

There are a lot of stories about television characters whose roles grew because of the performance of the actor, the needs of the overall story, or both. Steve Harrington, Joe Keery's character on "Stranger Things," for example, was originally supposed to die in season 1. Aaron Paul's award-winning portrayal of Jesse Pinkman on "Breaking Bad" was initially intended to receive a similar fate. And Walton Goggins' Boyd Crowder, the scenery-chewing frenemy of Raylan Givens on "Justified," wasn't even supposed to make it past the pilot, where Timothy Olyphant's U.S. Marshal was initially supposed to shoot him down for good.
The "Justified" pilot does culminate with Raylan shooting his old friend (they dug coal together!), but Boyd's ultimate fate is left up in the air. But like Keery with Steve, and Paul with Jesse, Goggins was just so good and charismatic in the role that the show's creators...

Far-right YouTuber Steven Crowder has kicked off a public feud with The Daily Wire after the right-wing news outlet approached him with a measly four-year contract offer worth a pitiful 50 million, and some fiduciary obligations on his part.
On Tuesday, Crowder launched the “Stop Big Con” initiative and accused “conservative media giants” of being “no better than Big Tech” and putting profit over the honest defense of conservative values.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Crowder described a period of “free agency” following his departure from The Blaze in December.

After that messy, messy end to Season 1, we’ll get to see what’s next for Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White). Hulu has renewed Tell Me Lies for a second season. The series follows Lucy and Stephen’s tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of eight years. They meet at college, and what unfolds affects everyone around them. The first season also starred Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Benjamin Wadsworth, and Alicia Crowder. In the finale, flashbacks showed Stephen driving the night Macy (Lily McInerny) died. Plus, Lucy watched as he left a college party with his ex, Diana (Crowder), then got drunk with Bree’s (Missal) boyfriend Evan (Cook) and woke up in bed with him the next morning. Meanwhile, at the party in 2015, Lucy and Stephen reunited… right before his fiancée, her (former) best friend, Lydia (Natalee Linez), joined them.

In our Q&a series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last time they were starstruck to the last song they listened to. This week, Alicia Crowder takes our call.
We're nearing the end of season one of "Tell Me Lies," but Alicia Crowder promises there are still some major surprises in store. The 25-year-old actor stars on the series, based on Carola Lovering's 2018 novel of the same name, as Stephen's (Jackson White) ex-girlfriend Diana, who finds herself stuck in the middle of his tumultuous relationship with Lucy (Grace Van Patten). Crowder was destined for Diana but reveals to Popsugar that she could have taken on a much different role in the series. In fact, she auditioned for two other characters before becoming the overachieving college student. "I actually auditioned for Bree [played by Catherine Missal] and Pippa [Sonia Mena] first.

Pedro Pascal admitted he may have been a little tentative about just how much success “The Mandalorian” could find among “Star Wars” fans.
The “Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” actor and “Narcos” alum leads the hit Disney+ series, which debuted in 2019. Pascal plays bounty hunter Din Djarin, who saves Baby Yoda and ventures on quests throughout the galaxy. Due to its unique plot and episodic structure (plus viral love for Baby Yoda), “The Mandalorian” was a breakthrough for the “Star Wars” canon.
“I think it was so easy to trust how much Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni love ‘Star Wars’ and [how they’re] taking that love and developing new ways of telling ‘Star Wars’ stories,” Pascal told Entertainment Weekly of signing on to the role. “That’s a big safety net. But there were things, like, will this character be compelling? Will people want to follow him through these adventures? Will the...
