Soccer Aid for Unicef 2020 has, thanks to the generosity of ITV viewers, raised a record £11,552,577 – the most the match has ever raised in the history of the show, which was broadcast exclusively live on ITV and Stv.
For the first time in the match’s history, donations were matched by both the UK government and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, meaning every £1 donated becomes £3 – up to £3 million – until Tuesday 6th October 2020.
This year’s teams of celebrities and former professional footballers played for ‘Generation Covid’, and the money raised will help Unicef stop the spread of coronavirus and limit the impact on children’s lives around the world.
The match, which was played behind-closed-doors at Manchester United Fc’s Old Trafford, ended 1-1 and so went to penalties. The game marked a return to the North West following last year’s game at Chelsea Fc’s Stamford Bridge.

The eagerly anticipated match took place in London for the first time in over a decade, packing out Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge Stadium with a whopping 39,836 in attendance. The notoriously private Russell Brand has been unsurprisingly quiet about becoming a dad, but now he’s opening up a little on what the experience has been like.

It's a girl! Russell Brand became a father for the first time to a daughter reportedly named Mabel, according to the Daily Mail. As E! News confirmed on Monday, the comedian and his fiancée Laura Gallacher officially welcomed their first child after an under-the-radar pregnancy. Gallacher's sister Kirsty Gallacher also confirmed the sex of the baby when she tweeted she was "proud to be an auntie for the first time," but could not meet her until Gallacher was well. While the couple has been notably tightlipped about the pregnancy, the actor let the happy birth news slip to an audience Sunday night when he mentioned that he had to run home because of their...

There’s at least one thing funnyman Russell Brand is serious about: fatherhood.
“I feel lit up by the idea,” Brand tells Es Magazine of expecting his first child with fiancé Laura Gallacher. “I’m very excited about becoming a dad and I’m preparing myself. I am just getting ready to be with a new little person and see what it is they want.”
Something he knows has no impact on how he will need to prepare? His baby’s sex.
“I might never find out,” jokes the Get Him to the Greek star, 41. “I may never look.

Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole has admitted that he "wasn't hopeful" when he was paired with Kirsty Gallacher.
Gallacher was voted out of the show at the weekend after making a mistake during her Charleston, but Cole explained that she had come a long way.
"When we started, I was not hopeful because she hadn't danced - she was stiff and I think scared of it," he said on Strictly: It Takes Two. "But once we turned the corner of some of the fear starting to disappear, she started to come through and started to become a dancer and that's exciting. That's as good as somebody like Jay getting a 10 on that week.
"The step from here to here is fantastic and I was really proud of that, and [in the American smooth during Movie Week], in the training room in particular, there was a smoothness. She's softening up! It wasn't quite there for the show but there were signs,...

Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole won't be quitting the show any time soon.
The professional dancer has been on the BBC One dancing programme since the very first year in 2004, but told Ok! magazine that he's still enjoying the experience.
"It's been a big chunk of my life, but it really doesn't feel like that long ago that it all started," he said.
"I love doing the show. I couldn't imagine my life without it now."
His wife Zoe then quipped: "Brendan will be there until they push him out of the door!"
Brendan also praised his celebrity partner Kirsty Gallacher, after rumours surfaced that the pair didn't get along due to Gallacher's busy schedule.
They were eliminated over the weekend, losing in the dance-off against Jamelia and Tristan MacManus, but Brendan only had positive words to say about her.

Strictly Come Dancing had another classic Halloween episode this weekend, but of course it was scarier for some of the celebrities than others. But who looks like they might be out of the running and who is creeping closer to that Glitter Ball trophy?
Out of the running: Kirsty Gallacher
Well, this seems particularly cruel. Kirsty had finally started to turn things around last week and was creeping up our rankings… but then her Halloween Charleston went horribly wrong with slips and mistakes and she picked up her lowest score of the series before becoming the first woman to be booted out (she joins the series' other eliminees Iwan Thomas, Anthony Ogogo, Daniel O'Donnell and Ainsley Harriott). Bad luck, Kirsty.
10. Jamelia (⬇3)
It doesn't seem quite fair to have Jamelia at the bottom of the rankings. She's far from the worst dancer in the competition and she's been improving, too, but...

Gallacher and Cole performed their Charleston to Postmodern Jukebox's version of 'Bad Romance', while Jamelia and MacManus jived to The Rocky Horror Picture Show's 'The Time Warp'.

1. Katie Derham & Anton Du Beke dancing the paso doble to 'Phantom of the Opera' by Steve Harley and Sarah Brightman: 4+6+6+5=21
Len: "The problem is you're like an English rose and the paso is a cactus, sharp aggressive and spiky. It doesn't really suit your personality. I got the willies at one time when I thought you would use the wrong foot. It wasn't great, Kate - I wish it was."
Darcey: "You look the part – absolutely stunning. To help strengthen your performance use those beautiful eyes.

Kirsty Gallacher has been voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The 39-year-old television presenter and her partner Brendan Cole were booted off the show after the pair lost out to rivals Jamelia and Tristan MacManus in the dance off tonight (01.11.15). Speaking after her exit, she said: ''It's a wonderful experience but Jamelia deserves it far more than me. I did my best but it was my time to go. I just want to say thank you to Brendan whose been incredible and I really mean that. He's an incredible friend and an incredible dancer. ''I've exceeded my own expectations, which surely is fine.

Strictly Come Dancing's Kirsty Gallacher has admitted that she's more worried about "popping out" of her ballroom dress than falling over during a live performance.
The Sky Sports presenter - who has received a mixed reaction from the judges so far - said that an accidental flashing would be "horrendous".
"The most embarrassing thing would be actually popping out of your dress," she told The Sun.
"Realistically it's not going to happen as the wardrobe people are brilliant, but actual exposure would be horrendous.
"If you make a mistake or fall over, it happens because we're not professional dancers. But popping out..."
Reflecting on the success of her Viennese waltz with dance partner Brendan Cole last weekend - which prompted praise from the visibly-impressed judges - she continued: "At the beginning I was worrying too much.
"But after the dance-off, I tried to relax more and am really enjoying it.

Strictly Come Dancing star Kirsty Gallacher has revealed that she is ready to come out fighting after nearly going home last week.
Kirsty and her professional partner Brendan Cole ended up in the bottom two with Daniel O'Donnell after their paso doble but explained that the disappointment has caused her to come out fighting.
"I feel reinvigorated," she told Mail Online. "I think Jamelia and I were both very similar in that she didn't have a lot of confidence before the dance-off either.
"I need to attack it more - I don't want to go home yet. I was really determined to stay in before the dance-off this week, but now I feel even more so, mainly for my family. They're watching me every weekend."
Kirsty - who split from her husband Paul Sampson this summer - added: "I've been taking the judges' comments on board this week and working on my hands and shaping.

Len: "Your hips certainly don't lie. A little bit long getting started but once you got into it… I thought you coped very well. I think it could have been better leg action, but I'm being pernickety."
Bruno: "That was warming up nicely. The samba has a carefree feel to it, but a couple of times there you got a little tangled and it kind of stopped it a little bit. The technique is actually very very hard. It was a bit on and off."

Jeremy Vine was busy on the radio so couldn't be there, but we still managed to wangle plenty of secrets out of the celebs...
1. Don't expect Peter Andre to be whipping his shirt off immediately.
"I reckon I'm going to last ages. I do. I mean, the girls look awesome – all of the girls look awesome. But the guys, you've got a professional runner, you've got a boxer… Iwan's going to be first. He looks good, you know."

"You become obsessed with it. Literally, this weekend I was washing up and dancing. My daughters were like, 'Mummy, what are you doing?' and I was like, 'I'm not your mummy anymore.

Kirsty Gallacher is ''obsessed'' with washing. The Sky Sports News presenter cannot get enough of ridding her and sons Oscar, eight, and five-year-old Jude's clothes of dirt because she loves the clean smell their garments give off when they come out of the washing machine, but the raven-haired beauty cannot stand ironing and hanging up clothes afterwards. She said: ''I'm obsessed by washing. I love washing, I've got a real thing about washing. ''I love the smell when it's clean - it's wonderful. Sky Sports News has always operated at an incredible pace. The idea of creating a channel dedicated to sports-related news sent out 24/7 is highly ambitious.
A recent invite to the new Sky Sports News HQ revealed just how much of a challenge it really is, and also uncovered some hidden gems about the inner workings of Sky's sports setup.
The new studio
Sky Sports itself has relaunched on channel 401 as Sky Sports News HQ, and with that comes a new-look studio.
Close to twice the size of the last Sky Sports setup, the first thing you notice when you walk into the new studio is an 18-square metre video wall.
Set opposite the presenters' desk, it acts a huge means for Sky to show off the current goings-on in sports. Surrounding this are a number of fixed cameras, as well as some robotic cameras which can be controlled remotely.
