Helene Björkman
- Actress
Helene is a Swedish actress, singer and writer. She graduated from Malmö Theatre Academy and Lund University in June 2021 with a double Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in film and theatre.
Helene is currently based in Malmö (Sweden) and also spent several years in London (United Kingdom). Her strongest professional skill is her knack for languages and accents. She confidently masters a range of accents, most prominently in English but also in her native language, Swedish. She is also a skilled improvisational comedian, having practiced improv for years.
Helene's first TV appearance was as Louise Dahlman in the Swedish hit crime-drama Hunt For A Killer (Jakten På En Mördare, 2020). Helene only applied to the production as an extra, but was spotted and handpicked among hundreds of applicants by the producers to play murderer Ulf Ohlson's ex wife. It was her first audition and acting experience ever.
Helene followed up her TV debut with a small but memorable role in season 2 of Swedish success drama Thin Blue Line (Tunna Blå Linjen, 2022) as the frank and emotionally inept veterinarian.
Although the digital medium is her first love, Helene frequently works in theatre as well. In 2020 and 2021 she collaborated with Malmö-based artist Hans Carlsson on his project Hestia. The performance was a monologue and installation, written and created by Carlsson and translated and performed in both Swedish and English by Helene. The piece was bought by Malmö Art Museum in 2021 and is now part of their permanent exhibition.
