Directed by: Tim Sullivan
Written by: Tim Sullivan, Chris Kobin, Christopher Tuffin
Cast: Bill Moseley, Lin Shaye, Christa Campbell, Andrea Leon, Nivek Ogre
If you think the worst horror film of 2010 was the remake/reboot/raping of Nightmare on Elm Street, you obviously haven't seen 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, the sequel to 2005's remake of the H. G. Lewis drive-in classic. I'd suggest you leave it that way, as returning director Tim Sullivan unleashes the cinematic equivalent of a night of excessive drinking. By the time the credits roll, you'll feel nauseated and find yourself a few billion brain cells lighter.
The movie starts as the ghosts of Pleasant Valley rematerializing for the anniversary of their death at the hands of rogue Yankee soldiers. But they discover the supply of Northerners to kill and consume has dried up, as the local sheriff has pulled the detour signs that drive tourists their way.

Dread hosted last night - in conjunction with First Look Studios, The American Cinematheque and club Les Deux - the L.A. premiere of filmmaker Tim Sullivan’s splatstick feature 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, and while the bulk of the coverage is on its way from Dread Central’s Cricket Lee, below check out a handful of stills and video of yours truly welcoming director Sullivan to the stage.
Regardless of the sweltering summer heat, the event was packed, with 2001 Maniacs cast members Bill Moseley, Lin Shaye, Christa Campbell, Ahmed Best, Trevor Wright, Adam Robitel, Katy Marie Johnson, Asa Hope, Alana Curry, Alex Luria, Larayia Gaston, Christopher McDaniel, Miles Dougal, Nicole Rae, Andrea Leon, Clifford Allen Wagner and Kathryn Le in attendance for the red carpet and premiere. Also on hand to lend their support to Sullivan, whose "Scream Queens 2" hosted reality show...

To make up for showing up late in July, we’ve got not one but two studs of the month for you: Adam Robitel and Christopher McDaniel!
Adam is very proud of Chris's abs
These two model-hot actors star in the new horror comedy sequel 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, out this month from director (and former Stud) Tim Sullivan on DVD! And if you ask them, they sound like they had a great time making it happen. Both play demented, silly characters made all the more ridiculous by how incredibly great they look with their shirts off. Chris is a former Days of our Lives player (so you know he’s got that ‘chiseled’ thing down) and Adam rocks the blue eyes. Adam’s blond surfer good-looks contrasts with Chris’s tall dark and handsome thing - so there’s something for everyone. You can thank me after you look...

Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams release is just around the corner and will arrive on DVD on July 20th via First Look Studios. If you love comedy mixed in with your blood and guts this is your kind of movie! My "Road to the Maniacs" has kicked back up into high gear. This stop I get to ask Christopher McDaniel some questions about the film and his character Rufus.
Brian S- Hey Chris, first off how did you get involved with 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams?
Christopher- I was actually originally cast as Rufus in the first Maniacs but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. When revving up for Field of screams, Tim remembered me and gave me a call. I was extremely happy to finally be playing Rufus.
Brian S- Tell me a little about your character? Christopher- Rufus is the son of Mayor Buckman (Bill Moseley...

Just a few scant hours after the announcement of the change in the film's title, we've gotten our grubby blood-soaked claws into three exclusive new images for you from Tim Sullivan's newly retitled 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams! Get ready for the South to rise again -- ever so violently!
“I truly believe this film has exceeded the first in every way possible,” said writer/director Tim Sullivan. “It’s an over-the-top ride filled with sexiness, bloodiness, and lots of politically incorrect humor. If the original didn’t secure me a warm spot in Hell, this one will for sure.” Amen, Tim. A-fuckin-men!

Dread just got back from the world premiere of Rob Zombie's Halloween II (held last night at Mann's Chinese in Hollywood, Ca) as well as the ensuing after-party which took place at Mood on Hollywood Boulevard, and while it really wasn't much of a work night for this scribe, I figured I’d be remiss if I didn't provide at least a bit of ocular coverage.
Playing to a packed and enthusiastic crowd, Halloween II writer and director Zombie was mobbed by paparazzi and fans alike post-show. On hand for the screening and following soiree (and sipping such film-inspired concoctions as the ‘Halloween Twist’ and the ‘Black Widow’) were H2 stars Tyler Mane, Scout Taylor Compton, Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie and series alumna Danielle Harris (among others), as were Zombie stables Sybil Danning and Daniel Roebuck. Horror notables in attendance also included Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (the boys...
