Director Jon Favreau has assembled quite an incredible cast of actors for Disney's realistic CGI animated remake of The Lion King. Most of the actors on the list we've already known about, but the one big confirmation is that Beyonce will officially be providing the voice of Nala. Here's the synopsis that was released:
From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure...

Over the weekend, Disney made a couple of important cast announcements for both of their hotly anticipated offerings, The Lion King and Mary Poppins. Disney had already created a buzz with the announcement of these two remakes which has now skyrocketed for these re-imagined childhood favourites. The stakes are high for Disney, so only the best acting talents will do.
In the case you have been living under a rock of late, The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau will be taking the helm of the all new live-action reimaging from Disney, The Lion King. After the huge success of The Oscar-nominated The Jungle Book last year which saw critics and audiences salivating over the Favreau’s visually stunning production it was a complete no-brainer that he should be leading the pack.

The new take on The Lion King might have Chiwetel Ejiofor playing its villain...
Whether it's acclaimed drama, like 12 Years A Slave, or a genre film like Joss Whedon's Serenity, Chiwetel Ejiofor always brings something extra to his performances. And if reports are correct, Ejiofor could be bringing his talents to bear on one of the best known villains in Disney's animated canon: Scar, the scheming baddie in the forthcoming live-action take on The Lion King.

A North Carolina civil rights organization denied Donald Trump’s request to visit its museum, saying the Trump campaign’s demands were “disrespectful.” “We did not honor the request of the Donald Trump team because we thought … their approach was disrespectful,” Earl Jones, co-founder of the International Civil Rights Center and Museum said, according to Wfmy News. According to the news report, the Trump campaign was aggressive and rude to the staff of the museum in making its request to visit last week. Jones said that the Republican nominee wanted the museum to be closed for at least five hours to accommodate him.

David Prowse may be credited with lending his physical appearance to the role of Darth Vader across the original Star Wars trilogy, but without James Earl Jones’ booming and iconic voice, that signature sense of gravitas would be lost to the stars.
Thankfully, Entertainment Weekly brings word today that Earl Jones will indeed return to voice the galaxy’s biggest menace in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with a handful of young actors donning the famous suit to bring the character to life on screen. Just don’t expect ol’ Vader to own much screentime in Gareth Edwards’ hotly-anticipated spinoff.

That’s because, as we learned yesterday, it is Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Orson Krennic that stands as the chief villain in Rogue One. “He [Vader] will be in the movie sparingly,” Kathleen Kennedy told EW. “But at a key, strategic moment, he’s going to loom large.

“We’re the only ones who come out here on visitors’ day,” says James Earl Jones in a farm-bred accent several notches folksier than the voices of CNN, Mufasa, and Darth Vader. He and Cicely Tyson are seated across a card table and surrounded by the accoutrements of old age — crutches, wheelchairs, and other flotsam. None of it belongs to Jones, who is 84, or Tyson, who doesn’t give her age but is reportedly 90. These are only props, strewn across the back half of a large rehearsal room on 42nd Street. Flynn Earl Jones, James’s son and assistant, is sitting in a far corner of the room, looking over notes.Behind the actors, a large piece of drywall stands in for the ramshackle nursing home whose front porch they’ll occupy when the Broadway revival of The Gin Game opens on October 14. Though their offstage appearances tend to be...

1989's Field Of Dreams might just be Kevin Costner's finest hour. So why does the film still manage to hit so hard?
"We just don't recognise life's most significant moments while they're happening. Back then I thought, 'well there'll be other days'. I didn't realise that that was the only day."

It's a useful piece of advice that's given to writers, that you need to put something on the line if you want a piece to really work. That you need to put some, and ideally a lot, of yourself into it.
Brace yourselves, I'm afraid. I make no promises that the quality of what you're about to read is much cop. But I can tell you that Field Of Dreams is an immensely important and rich film to me,...

Soon to start filming is director Gareth Edwards' eagerly-awaited standalone Star Wars movie, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. This is set to be a heist film set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, and the cast is being led by Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn and Riz Ahmed. Sam Claflin is reportedly up for a role too.
Here's a tantalising nugget of information about the movie too: Darth Vader is set to appear.
The character will be pretty much at the height of his powers at this point in the Star Wars timeline, and whilst he won't be the main antagonist of this particular Star Wars film, but is said to be pulling strings behind the scenes. He will be appearing...

A new Star Wars Rebels trailer has teased the return of James Earl Jones as Darth Vader in the season finale. See it here…
Those who have taken the time to invest in Star Wars Rebels - the Disney Xd animated series which bridges the gap between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope - have found plenty to enjoy.
Amongst other fan-pleasing moments, we’ve had a brief appearance from Obi-Wan, Anthony Daniels reprising C-3Po, the return of Billy Dee Williams as Lando, and a cameo from James Earl Jones as Darth Vader way back in the premiere episode.
Now, it looks like the suited-up and currently evil Anakin Skywalker will be returning for the season finale entitled Fire Across The Galaxy. We’ve assumed this because he appears in the trailer, which you can see here…
Fire Across The Galaxy premieres in America on Monday the 2nd of March.

As the star of two of the most successful film franchises of the ‘80s, Harrison Ford was the obvious choice to take on the role of Jack Ryan for director Phillip Noyce’s Patriot Games, released on Blu-ray last week. Following on from Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of the character in The Hunt For Red October, where Ryan was very much a supporting role to Sean Connery’s Russian submarine captain, producers required a more bankable star to fill Ryan’s boots for a story focussing more on Ryan and his family as he takes on a terrorist splinter group.
Based on Tom Clancy’s international best-seller, Patriot Games follows former CIA analyst Jack Ryan as he travels to London for a vacation with his wife (Anne Archer, Fatal Attraction) and child (Thora Birch, American Beauty). Meeting his family outside Buckingham Palace, Ryan is caught in the middle of a...
