To many fans, it seemed like this moment would never come, but it’s finally happening: a new Nintendo Direct is set to drop today at 5 pm Et. This is the first major Direct broadcast since September 2019, so it’s not surprising that Nintendo fans have some really high expectations regarding what might be announced during the 50-minute conference.
Nintendo has confirmed that the Direct will cover some new updates for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which means you should probably expect to hear about a new fighter joining the fray. Beyond that, everything seems fair game, although the focus will be on new Nintendo Switch games coming to the console “in the first half of 2021.”
This could mean a lot of things. One franchise that is on lots of gamers’ minds is The Legend of Zelda, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary on Feb. 27. The timing seems perfect, then, for some new Zelda announcements.

Exclusive: Slammed with a new money laundering charge today, Lori Loughlin hasn’t entered a plea yet in the college bribery scheme. However, fans of her former series When Calls the Heart will know very soon exactly when the Hallmark Channel is coming back from its self-imposed hiatus.
At around 11 Am Pst tomorrow, Wcth viewers who DVR the show based on Janette Oke’s book of the same name will see a special message pop up on their TVs, I’ve learned. That announcement from series lead Erin Krakow will reveal when the revamped Wcth will be back for the rest of its sixth season.
After “creative solutions” have been put in place for the pink slipped Loughlin’s Abigail Station character and new edits finished, the show is expected back something in the next month, I hear.
Just two days after Loughlin and 32 other parents were indicted by the FBI and the U.

One day after Felicity Huffman entered a guilty plea in the elite schools admission case, Lori Loughlin has been seen a new money laundering charge added to her indictment.
The move by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts heightens the stakes for the actor and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli, both of whom are out on a $1,000,000 bail bond. Having appeared in federal court in Boston last week, the new charge indicates that the vice is tightening as the couple are not seeking a deal with the government, yet.
The UTA-repped Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Giannulli were part of a yearlong investigation that also snared American Crime star Huffman and more than 30 other parents. The couple are accused of paying “bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not...

Two days after Lori Loughlin flew into town from a Vancouver set to face charges and arrest over the elite college entrance fraud scheme, Hallmark Channel has cut all of its various ties with the actor.
“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations,” a Crown Media spokesperson told Deadline. “We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”
The statement does not mention When Calls the Heart, on which Loughlin has starred since its 2014 launch. Last week’s Season 6 debut of Hallmark Channel’s small-town drama was the highest-rated premiere in the series’ history.
It was the latest installment of the long-running Garage Sale Mysteries movie series that Loughlin was working on this week when the FBI and the U.

Lori Loughlin may be able to continue filming her various shows despite her arrest on Wednesday for alleged mail fraud as part of a college admissions bribery scheme.
According to an indictment filed on Tuesday by the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, the actress, her husband Mossimo Giannulli and dozens of other parents — including Desperate Housewives vet Felicity Huffman — allegedly bribed college entrance-exam administrators to allow cheating on the tests and university athletic coaches to designate school applicants as athletic recruits, regardless of athletic ability or experience playing a sport. Loughlin and Giannulli allegedly paid a total...

Updated, 3:30 Pm: Lori Loughlin was arraigned Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles on conspiracy charges stemming from the elite college entrance fraud scheme made public the day before by federal investigators.
Arrested earlier in the day, the Fuller House actor was granted a $1 million bond and had to surrender her passport with travel restrictions in the short hearing this afternoon.
Appearing in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Steve Kim at around 3 Pm today, Loughlin received the same bail amount as her husband Mossimo Giannulli, who was arraigned Tuesday. Unlike Giannulli and after some trepidation by Judge Kim, the actor isn’t restricted to just travel within the continental U.S. Discussed yesterday when Giannulli was before a different judge, the Hallmark Channel regular will also be allowed to travel to Canada for work already scheduled for next month, May and July.
Also, in a move somewhat rare in cases like this,...

Actress Lori Loughlin will be released on $1 million in bail after appearing in court Wednesday, following her arrest as part of a nationwide college admissions cheating scam case.
The $1 million bail was the same amount as her husband Mossimo Giannulli. She will be released after signing affidavit. Her next court date is March 29 in Boston.
Loughlin can travel within the continental U.S. and British Columbia for work, because she has several projects lined up in those areas. Judge Steve Kim said she has to relinquish her passport by December unless she gets more permission to have it; for example, if she has more work under contract. When she travels, has to report her itinerary to a pre-trial services officer.

Lori Loughlin appeared in federal court in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, facing a charge of mail fraud in connection with the widespread college admissions bribery scheme.
Judge Steve Kim set her bail at $1,000,000, the same amount as her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, who is also being charged. Giannulli was not in court on Wednesday. The bond is secured against the couple’s home, as well as their other assets.
Kim was originally reluctant to allow Loughlin to continue travelling to Vancouver for work, saying “I”m not comfortable giving her a passport for that kind of travel.” But he relented and set conditions that she be allowed to travel as long as the court is aware of her destination and length of stay.
Her attorney Marc Harris explained that she is under contract for two more projects in April and May as well as a series slated to begin in July,...
