After 15 seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and 13 international spinoffs, the franchise has launched the careers of over 400 fierce drag queens. As those performers grow their careers, a select lucky few are granted the opportunity to return to the competition to compete on the Paramount+ sister series: “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.”
So far the world has seen eight seasons of “All Stars,” with winners that include Alaska, Trixie Mattel, Shea Couleé, and Kylie Sonique Love. Given the wild success of the franchise, it’s safe to assume that plenty more fan favorites will be making return trips to the mainstage for more “All Stars” seasons. With only a few spots available for each iteration, here are 10 queens who simply must be invited back to the show for their chance at a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

Kelsea Ballerini and ‘Drag Race’ Stars Serve Cowgirl Glamour in CMT Music Awards Performance (Video)
Country singer and 2023 CMT Music Awards co-host Kelsea Ballerini has been praised by GLAAD for displaying “bold allyship” after featuring several fan favorite drag artists from RuPaul’s “Drag Race” franchise during her musical performance at Sunday’s ceremony.
Ballerini, who performed “If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too),” was joined on stage by Kennedy Davenport, Olivia Lux, Jan Sport and Manila Luzon.

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes made their debut as a couple at the CMT Awards on April 2 at the Moody Center in Austin, TX. Ballerini, who cohosted the event with fellow country singer Kane Brown, walked the red carpet hand in hand with Stokes. The pair were also snapped sharing an embrace backstage. See the pictures from their night ahead.
Speculation about Ballerini and Stokes dating started back in January when he shared a carousel of Instagram photos that included a stealth shot of her. Five days later, Stokes told TMZ that Ballerini is a "sweet girl" and confirmed they were "having a good time" together. Stokes finally confirmed they're an official couple once and for all during a March 3 appearance on the "Today" show.
Ballerini, meanwhile, opened up about how their connection grew online in a February interview with the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. "His handle is 'hichasestokes' and I just said,...

There’s no room for transphobia in country music, according to Kelsea Ballerini. During Sunday’s CMT Awards, the show’s host took the stage to sing her hit “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too),” joined by a crew of drag queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race. The performance comes in light of a recent uptick in anti-trans legislation across the US.
Along with Ballerini, queens Jan Sport, Olivia Lux, Manila Luzon, and Kennedy Davenport sported sky-high hair and retro dresses, as they all proclaimed the song’s playfully hell-raising chorus: “If it all blows up and we end up on the news/ If you go down, I’m goin’ down too!” As the song neared its end, Ballerini took off her guitar and strutted down the catwalk with all the queens by her side, confetti billowing into the air.

During the opening monologue at Sunday night’s CMT Music Awards, broadcast from Austin on CBS, there was a comedic bit in which Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown exchanged anniversary presents to celebrate their cohosting of the show for the third consecutive time. Brown gave Ballerini a cowboy hat, and she reciprocated by giving him a pink hat to put on in return. At least a few audience members shared a joke about the exchange: By wearing pink, would Brown be breaking Tennessee’s recently passed law that some believe would ban most drag performances in the state, if they were back home?
That was a “just kidding” response to the silliness of the hosts’ monologue. But Ballerini really went there later in the three-hour telecast, when she chose four “RuPaul’s Drag Race” queens to perform with her as she sang “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too).” That song,...

Kelsea Ballerini made her feelings about the Tennessee drag ban known during her performance at the 2023 CMT Music Awards Sunday.
Ballerini, who also served as the night’s co-host, transported the audience backyard barbecue in the ’60s, where she was surrounded by a bevy of drag queens while belting out her hit, “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)”.
The group served as Ballerini’s backup dancers, while the singer sang and strummed along on a pink guitar. After throwing her long, green coat to the side, Ballerini showed off a yellow two-piece, which she strutted her stuff in while the drag queens followed behind — all dressed in their best ’60s-inspired wears.
The performance ended with a flutter of confetti that was illuminated with rainbow stage lights, which made Ballerini’s stance loud and clear.

After 16 weeks (or was it 16 months?) of fierce competition, Friday’s RuPaul’s Drag Race finale closed the book on one of the most twisted seasons in herstory.
A marked improvement over last season’s all-virtual finale, though still not quite the spectacle to which fans have become accustomed, Friday’s main event pit our Top 4 — Gottmik, Kandy Muse, Rose and Symone — against one another in all-out smackdown for the crown.

#TeamKandyMuse fans are preparing themselves for a disappointing grand finale on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The 25-year-old New York City queen has lowly 33/1 odds to be named the winner of Season 13, according to Gold Derby’s predictions. That puts Kandy in fourth place behind Gottmik (the predicted winner), Symone (the odds-on runner-up) and Rosé (the likely third placer). Do you agree or disagree with the predictions of your fellow “Drag Race” fans? There’s still time to make your picks before the grand finale airs Friday, April 23 on VH1.

Let’s be honest, none of us are the same people we were at the start of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13. And with the coronation at last approaching, it’s time to lock in our bets: Which queen (or queens?) will finally win this thing?
All cynicism aside, this season — with its cast of memorable, impactful queens — has been one for the herstory books. And while it’s easy to joke about this feeling like the longest season ever, that doesn’t mean we’re ready for it to end just yet.

For much of this season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Symone has been the predicted winner by hundreds of dedicated fans taking part in Gold Derby’s predictions center. However, in the past week, we’ve seen a major shift on our winner’s chart. Now Gottmik is the front-runner to win by a slim margin. Symone is close behind in second place, with Rosé in third and Kandy Muse in fourth. Do you agree or disagree with the predictions of your fellow “Drag Race” fans? There’s still time to make (or update) your picks before the Season 13 grand finale airs Friday, April 23 on VH1.

Grab your cups, Drag Race fans. The "reunion" on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 15 was more of a clip show than an actual reunion.
Reunions give the queens a chance to discuss any plots and drama to work through what happened during the competition. Instead of a collaborative night, everything seemed separated and segmented.
Too much filler for a night that should've been one to get viewers excited for the grand finale.
"Reunited" is the case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
The Drag Race reunions had found their rhythm since RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 when they became a separate episode to get the queens together. Previously, most reunions got looped into the finales with small segments and chats.
The change in recent seasons was a breath of fresh air because it created one of the most anticipated hours and always delivered on bringing key discussions/drama.

Ahead of next week’s grand finale, the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 reunited (mostly virtually) on Friday to spill some tea, throw some shade and, most importantly, promote some Bubly Bounce. (Symone deserves an Emmy for that delivery.)

Last week saw both Kandy Muse and Olivia Lux in the bottom two with Olivia been told to leave the competition. She had only been doing drag for just over a year so to get this far in the competition (beating out drag icons such as Tina Burner and Tamisha Imann) is incredible! I can’t wait to how much she will progress over time and I am sure she is destined for great things as she gains more and more experience. Though I don’t understand how Kandy was allowed to progress with that messy pocket inspired outfit as I thought it was the worst outfit I have seen… since her alien look a few weeks ago! But this led to a very interesting discussion led by Bob the drag queen (who was the winner of season 8) where she talked about how a designer had made the outfit, so...

Due to the few early episodes where we met the queens in one vs one lip-syncs and the proceeding episodes where no one went home, this season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race seems to be never ending. At this rate, the finale episode (I wonder if they will do a big scale event or not) will be episode 15 and to put that into perspective, season 8 had crowned a winner by episode 10. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want the season to end as that means there will be no Drag Race being produced, but it does seem that this season has lost some of the energy it had at the beginning.
Last week Rose and Symone are crowned joint winners of the branding challenge (I am super glad that Rose is starting to get the credit she deserves) but at the bottom was Tina Burner who left the competition.

Winning a RuPaul Roast is a big step toward making the finals. If you can make RuPaul and the judges consistently laugh, the odds of winning shoot straight up!
The queens put their comedic skills to the test on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 12.
The zingers were cutting. Many laughs were had on the main stage. And several queens stood out from the pack in one of the most crucial challenges yet.
Before we get into the Roast, we need to talk about the Mini Challenge. The live makeup application might be one of the funniest challenges RuPaul's Drag Race has ever done.
Having one queen apply makeup to another queen from behind a sheet wasn't the most original idea. Drag Race had done something similar during RuPaul's Drag Race Season 6 with a beach dancing challenge. However, the concept alone is just so funny and weird.

Moments after extinguishing Tina Burner on the main stage, Utica Queen returned to the werkroom on Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race — but not everyone was in a condragulatory mood.
While Rosé was quick to compliment Utica on a lip well synced, Kandy Muse refused to acknowledge her victory at all — at least to Utica’s face. “I’m not going to sit here and tell you, ‘Oh, girl, you slayed the lip sync when I don’t think you did,” Kandy said in a confessional. “I thought Tina slayed that f–ing lip sync.” Meanwhile, Utica wondered aloud...

Thirteen contestants originally entered the work room hoping to win “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 13, but now less than half remain. Of the Top 6 queens, who’s your personal favorite: Gottmik, Kandy Muse, Olivia Lux, Rose, Symone or Utica Queen? Vote in our poll below and then be sure to defend your choice in the comments section. Heads up: we ran a similar poll near the start of the season and Symone came out on top with 30% of the vote. Will she win this time, too?

If last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was about translating your drag brand on to the face and body of another queen, then this week is about selling that brand message to the masses. After a peer-swap makeover challenge that saw two-time winner Olivia Lux fall to the bottom and send her friend Denali home, host RuPaul Charles thought it’d be fun to double-down on brand messaging with the top 7 by asking them to create and sell in a commercial their own can of soda pop inspired by their own brand as a drag queen.

RuPaul's Drag Race loves to throw in branding challenges to help the queens define their styles and brand. To make it in this business, the queens have to know themselves best.
Even something as small as drinks on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 11 can be a branding opportunity for the drag queens.
Winning this challenge requires humor, style, and adding a bit of comedic flair. So, it's shocking that the queen who spent much of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 utilizing the same color palette went home in a branding challenge.
Tina Burner's fall from grace was a sharp tumble to the bottom. Throughout her rehearsals and judging panel, it became very clear that this was her time to go, especially since the judges flipped the script in their feedback to her.
Did anyone else notice how quick they were to rip her about using her trademark colors?

A flat performance in a soda-themed challenge got another competitor canned on Friday’s Drag Race, leaving us with but a six-pack of queens.
Following an arousing — sorry, make that a rousing — game of Are You Smarter Than the Pit Crew?, which challenged the queens’ knowledge of Drag Race institutions like Lil’ Poundcake and the Interior Illusions Lounge, the group was presented with this week’s maxi challenge: to create and brand a soft drink, design the can, produce and star in a commercial, and write a catchy jingle. You know, totally normal things that all drag queens do in their day-to-day lives.

Last week on the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” runway, six different queens named Olivia Lux as the person who should go home. Host RuPaul Charles took that advice under consideration, but ultimately told Olivia’s makeover partner Denali to “sashay away” instead. When the contestants all return to the work room during Friday’s 11th episode, Olivia reacts (a bit too calmly) to the queens naming her. “It’s one of those things where I just don’t take things personally,” declares the 26-year-old queen in VH1’s sneak peek video (watch above). “I moved to New York with that motto. It’s just drag. I know you girls so I know it comes from a place of love.”

In last weeks episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, we saw the return of the iconic snatch games with had a very mixed bag of impressions. We had a modern interpretation of Mary Queen of Scots by Rosè (who has since created a hilarious sketch of this character adapting to modern life in New York) and most notable an stellar performance of Gotmik as Paris Hilton which was so great that she was deemed the winner of the entire episode. On the other end of the spectrum, we had an interesting performance by Utica as Bob Ross complete with a squirrel Afro (no really!) to avoid any claims of cultural appropriation and a poor performance by Eliott who eventually was told to sashay away. The episode also showcases Seymone being unapologetically black as her snatch was Harriet Tubman and her BLM inspired outfit on the runway was one of...

Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” RuPaul Charles hosted the queens of season 13 in the legendary “Snatch Game” challenge of celebrity impersonations. Gottmik scored her second challenge win with an interpretation of Paris Hilton that was so hot. Both Utica Queen and Elliott with 2 Ts struggled to get their takes on Bob Ross and Rue McClanahan across to the judges, landing themselves in the bottom. Utica scraped through with a strong lip sync, sending Elliott home and providing herself with a new sense of confidence going into the top 8.

The makeover challenge is a hard round to win. Plenty of great Drag Race queens have been sent home in the past because they fumbled during this one challenge.
On RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 10, RuPaul wasn't playing around by assigning the queens to makeover each other.
It's one thing for the queens to paint their styles on a stranger, but this was a fellow queen still in the competition. Some drag styles aren't so easy to carry over and embrace the vibe. But when they did, we were living for the transformations!
Case in point: Symone and Utica.
It's clear why this pairing dominated the round and won the challenge. Their transformation was elevated, editorial, and it left a strong impact on the judges.
Symone is a confident and sexy queen on the runway, while Utica is quirkier and artistic. Their styles were very much on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

The challenge on Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race may have been inspired by Freaky Friday, but with all those buses the queens threw each other under, it felt more like we were watching Mean Girls.

Now the production team at Ru Paul’s Drag Race are shady but know exactly what they are doing! In the last episode, we saw Kandy and Symone in the bottom two with Ru Paul deciding to award the converted double shantay (double save of you will) which cause outrage with the fans on social media! Now instead of having a follow-up episode to move on from this drama the show decided to have a Covid special last week which meant fans were left stewing for two weeks without an episode. Now, I know they worked on this lockdown special ages ago but to put it right after this dramatic moment was very clever, as it builds up even more excitement for when normal programming is resumed. I was unfortunately not able to watch the special episode that was filmed in the queen’s homes but from what I have heard it was incredibly powerful!

Two weeks ago on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” RuPaul Charles stopped Kandy Muse in her tracks as she made her “sashay” off the runway to say that she wasn’t ready for her to leave the competition yet. It was a surprising, but well-received decision by the cast for a rare “double shantay” after Kandy and Symone, once thought to be frontrunners, had both fallen into the bottom two. That same week, Rosé finally earned a challenge win, the coveted prize she thought she’d have earned for herself much earlier in the competition.

It's the Maxi Challenge we've all been waiting for! The Snatch Game is back on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 9.
This game is the challenge that separates the queens into the frontrunners and the fillers. If a queen does amazing in the Snatch Game, their odds of making Top 4 rise high. If they stumble, they'll need to shine elsewhere or face elimination.
Many past Drag Race queens defined their legacies during a Snatch Game. But did this Snatch Game leave its mark in Drag Race herstory?
Overall, the Snatch Game for RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 was pretty good.
More than half of the queens got laughs out of RuPaul. The number of laughs made it uncertain which queens would end up at the top, which helped raise this higher compared to some past Snatch Games.
The flaw, however, was that none of the queens truly matched the highest highs of past iconic performances,...

We never managed to get that drag mother versus daughter lip-sync that I believed was obvious from the moment the cast was announced. The family members Tamisha Imann and Lala Ri have now both been eliminated, with Lala going home last week and Tamisha the week before. Despite being “obvious” I would have secretly liked to have seen the two battle it out and this would have created a ridiculous amount of drama and could have either reestablished Tamisha as the head of the dynasty or shown Lala raising in the family. The queens loved Lala as they noticed a clear change in the werk room as soon as she was eliminated and the fans will always remember her for that infamous gift bag dress. The musical is a fundamental challenge.
Dancing, singing, acting, the queens have to prove they're a triple threat on the main stage. And with a social media-themed rusical on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 8, the queens felt the pressure more than ever to shine and define their characters.
In particular, certain queens felt the tension more than ever for what it meant to get a starring role.
Denali's journey through "Social Media The Unverified Rusical" is the classic case of the inner saboteur.
Her biggest enemy was herself because she kept doubting her drag ability and putting too much stock into getting ignored by the judges. Denali is a fierce queen and can serve it when ready!
I agree she should've been at the top during RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 7. And her edit this round started like she was poised to be ignored yet again.

Buoyed by her two maxi challenge victories, Symone has been the front-runner to win “RuPaul’s Drag Race” all season long. The 25-year-old Los Angeles queen is such an obvious threat that she was even the impetus for the epic fight between Tamisha Iman and Kandy Muse — remember, Tamisha took issue when Kandy called Symone her biggest competition. However, with Season 13 halfway over, Symone now has to watch out for another dominant contestant who’s coming for her crown: Olivia Lux.
