Creed’s Summer of ’99 cruise boarded in Miami on Thursday (April 18th), and the reunited band didn’t waste any time delivering their first concert in 12 years. Scott Stapp and company rocked a 16-song set for the thrilled passengers.
The band — featuring original members Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, Brian Marshall, along with touring guitarist Eric Friedman — opened the set appropriately with the song “Are You Ready?” They proceeded to play favorites such as “Torn,” “My Own Prison,” “Weathered,” and “Faceless Man.”

The main set ended with the one-two punch of the sing-along anthems “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher,” after which Stapp led the crowd in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Tremonti, who turned 50 years old today. The band then returned for an encore of “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice.”

The Disney Channel is renewing a show that gives social media stars a chance to show up on TV. That show is Bizaardvark, and it will return for a second season, which will air in 2017.
Bizaardvark follows a pair of teenagers who express themselves through their titular vlogging channel on YouTube. That premise gives many opportunities for prominent social media stars to show up in the show’s cast. Jake Paul has a supporting role in the series, and notable creators who have appeared as guests include Rosanna Pansino, Eva Gutowski, Alisha Marie, Meredith Foster, and Logan Paul.
The second season of Bizaardvark will feature more cameos while continuing to develop the show’s storyline and characters. “Our hope is that Bizaardvark inspires kids to embrace their own creativity and individuality, and encourages them to express themselves,” said Adam Bonnett, the Evp of original programming at Disney Channel Worldwide. “We...

Scoot over Pinocchio. More Crash, more Bernstein and more laughs are coming your way thanks to Disney Xd‘s decision to renew the “breakout comedy” Crash & Bernstein for a 2nd season. We have the details.
The kid’s show Crash & Bernstein only just began its first season last fall. The fun series follows the misadventures of Wyatt Bernstein, a young man who is 12 years of age and lives with three sisters. When he wishes for a brother, he gets his wish come true as a “Build-a-Bestie” puppet comes to life. Hijinks most definitely ensue. Does it remind anyone else of Calvin and Hobbs? Wyatt is acted by Cole Jensen and the series is created by Eric Friedman. Its executive-produced by Friedman, Mike Larsen, Jim Armogida and Steve Armogida.
Production for the show takes place in Van Nuys, California, where season 2 will develop starting in July in preparation for a fall 2013 premiere on Disney Xd,...

Disney Xd‘s breakout comedy Crash & Bernstein has been picked up for a second season. Production will resume in Van Nuys, California in July for a fall 2013 premiere. Created by Eric Friedman and executive-produced by Friedman, Mike Larsen, Jim Armogida and Steve Armogida, the multi-camera series stars Cole Jensen, Tim Lagasse, Oana Gregory, Landry Bender and Aaron R. Landon. It follows Wyatt Bernstein (Jensen), a typical boy who lives in a household full of girls and desperately wishes for a brother to do fun guy stuff with. His family takes Wyatt to a Build-a-Bestie for his birthday, which leads to his dream finally coming true — his Bestie creation, Crash (Lagasse), a wildly unpredictable puppet, comes to life. Together, the new “brothers” help each other navigate life’s adventures.

Exclusive: Boy-centric Disney Xd has picked up to series Crash and Bernstein, a live-action comedy with puppetry. The multicamera show, created by Eric Friedman (Disney Xd’s I’m In The Band), centers on 14-year-old Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, who finally gets his dream of having a loud-mouthed brother when his puppet, Crash, comes to life. Crash, played by Emmy-nominated puppet master and filmmaker Tim Lagasse (Sesame Street) brings Wyatt some much needed “boy reinforcement” amidst a household of sisters. The series, produced by It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc., will begin production in May for a fall premiere. “It offers a fresh take on the typical buddy comedy and brings together an everyday kid and his ‘know no limits’ puppet as they navigate life’s adventures,” said Adam Bonnett, Svp, original programming for Disney Channel. The pilot for Crash and Bernstein was directed by Bruce Leddy...

The nominees for the 2010 Streamys were announced today. The Streamys celebrate online television programming and this year they have a fantastic line up of nominees. Last year was the Streamys debut year and the winners included high profile shows such as Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the exceptional Battlestar Galactica web series The Face of the Enemy.
This year there is even more competition with some really interesting content now being released on the web rather than through more traditional media routes. Two of my favourites from this year’s nominee list are the excellent Interview Project which is presented by davidlynch.com and the slightly flawed but thoroughly enjoyable Angel of Death, created by Ed Brubaker and starring Zoe Bell, which also received a DVD release last year.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 11th 2010 and the full list of nominees is listed below with handy links...

I've been eager to try out the fitbit since talking with its designer, NewDeal's Gadi Amit, this past summer (full disclosure: Gadi Amit is a regular, unpaid contributor to Fast Company's expert design blogs). The tiny, wireless $99 activity monitor is worn 24/7 and tracks steps taken, calories burned, miles traveled, and even the quality and duration of sleep. It then syncs automatically to your computer so you can dive deep into all that data and log your nutrition.
"The design challenge with the slew of new technologies that allow you to monitor your health is to blend them seamlessly into modern life," says Amit. So, how seamless and effective is the fitbit? I decided to test-drive it to find out.
The device
At two inches high, half an inch wide, and weighing just fourth-tenths of an ounce, the fitbit is closer in stature to an iPod shuffle than a traditional pedometer.

"The design challenge with the slew of new technologies that allow you to monitor your health is to blend them seamlessly into modern life. Most pedometers are quite male-oriented. They're focused on numeric achievement and look like electronic gear. With the Fitbit, we wanted to move from a message of pure performance to one centered on wellness -- more urban lifestyle than fitness. It should disappear into a person's garments, whether that's an evening gown or a running shoe, effortlessly carried 24/7 by either gender. The Fitbit has one discrete button that lets you cycle through the functions, including a digital...
