Patti Newton has joined the Australian version of Celebrity Apprentice, according to reports. The 66-year-old television personality, who is married to veteran TV presenter Bert, is believed to have arrived in Sydney to start filming the Channel Nine reality show today (January 16) alongside host and chairman Mark Bouris. According to the Herald Sun, Patti will be joined by Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff, former footballer Jason Akermais, waterskier and model Lauryn Eagle, MasterChef contestant Marion Grasby, Amazing Race star Nathan Joliffe, comedian Fiona O'Loughlin and Can of Worms host Ian Dickson. Ian Thorpe has been given a role in a theatre production. Fiona O'Loughlin has been criticised for her recent comments about the late Steve Irwin's 11-year-old daughter Bindi. The Australian comedian, who is a recovering alcoholic, caused outrage by referring to Bindi as a "bit creepy" and doing an impersonation of her voice on ABC show Spicks and Specks. Fellow guest Chris Durling, who used to work with Bindi, tried to defend his friend, saying: "What you see is what you get," to which O'Loughlin replied: "Yeah, a freak show."
