Warner Bros. have just sent us this new fantastic gallery of images from their new movie. Ironclad. We were lucky enough to interview James Purfoy for the movie yesterday and that should be going up on the site in the coming days.
Ironclad is out in the UK on March 4th; it is a bloody medieval action film starring Brian Cox (Bourne Supremacy), Paul Giamatti (Barney’s Version and Shoot Em Up), James Purefoy (Resident Evil), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates), Charles Dance (Gosford Park), Jason Flemyng (Kick Ass and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and Iron Man 2’s Kate Mara to name a couple.
Synopsis: Travelling back to the dark, brutal past of 13-century England, Ironclad plunges us headlong into one of the most violent, pivotal moments in English medieval history – when a few good men fought against insurmountable odds to defend their country from a megalomaniac, blood-drunk king.

This trailer delivers everything I wanted it to and Giamatti looks fabulous!!
Ironclad recounts one of the most violent, pivotal moments in English medieval history – when a few good men fought against insurmountable odds to defend their country from a megalomaniac, blood-drunk king. Torn from the pages of history, the devastating battle for the castle of Rochester is a true story of honour, action and excitement. There will be blood.

As a journalist, I feel like I’ve been blindfolded – my telephone and Dictaphone have both been confiscated before I’ve been allowed into the BFI and Empire’s very own Chamber of Secrets – or NFT1, as it is more commonly known. Over the weekend, those lucky enough to get hold of the highly limited number of tickets have been treated to screenings, trailers, snippets, Q&As, random prizes and, mostly importantly of all, goody bags. Through our friends at Disney, I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited to the final day’s events, which includes a preview of Tron: Legacy, Kim Newman’s movie quiz and an exclusive screening of Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with a Q&A with the esteemed director and creator of the original comic, Brian Lee O’Malley. Now if only I could record anything…

This is a big Comic-Con for Paul Giamatti, who will be in San Diego promoting producer David Fincher's "The Goon" as well as the upcoming Jonathan English flick "Ironclad." MTV already brought you the exclusive teaser for "The Goon," and now we have an exclusive sneak peak at the footage that will be shown tonight at the "Ironclad" panel.
The film follows the siege of Rochester castle by King John in the year 1215, with Giamatti playing the king. It's described as a "medieval 'Magnificent Seven' that combines the visceral action of '300' with the impassioned heroism and romance of 'Braveheart,'" which can be seen to some extent in the clip. The first part of the clip shows Giamatti threatening the castle, and then it switches to the siege of the castle -- and a new hairstyle for King John.
