- A life long lover of "exploitation" cinema, Morphy was practically raised in the drive-in theaters which once dotted his upstate New York home. Intrigued at an early age by the works of George A. Romero and Steven Spielberg, Morphy's taste for the fantastic was evident at an early stage of his creative development, and at the tender age of 11 years he penned his first screenplay, a three page opus dubbed simply: "The Beast." Having worked as a freelance journalist and graphic artist, Morphy has written numerous critical essays as well as screenplays, including an adaptation of the autobiography of Eishi Hyata, entitled "Esmeraldero," and a re-write on the soon to be produced Coen Brothers script "The Godmother." Morphy has served as a tattoo designer and consultant on several motion pictures including "Snuff" and "Blowin' Smoke", and has also directed three motion pictures, two of which have premiered at east coast film festivals such as the "New York Independent Film and Video Festival".
Morphy currently serves as the primary researcher, author and artist for Americanmonsters.com, and has dedicated the better portion of his adult life to the pursuit of unknown animals and directing documentaries.
During the early 1990s, Morphy conducted cryptozoological research throughout Central Europe, and in 2000 he traveled to South Africa in order to investigate reports of the notorious man-eater known as the mamlambo. During this trip, Morphy also collected information regarding the legendary Howick Falls monster eel, the Inkanyamba. Most recently Morphy has directed the first in what is planned to be a series of cryptozoological documentaries, the initial installment one of which details the exploits of an animal known as the "Honey Island Swamp Monster." Morphy is also putting the finishing touches on the first of three in his series of post-apocalyptic-black-comedies, starring Michael DeForrest and Larissa Lury, entitled "11".- IMDb Mini Biography By: Red Curran<sppcinema@yahoo.com>
