The Challenge frequently incorporates themes including Rivals, Bloodlines, and Ride or Dies, forcing players to compete with their nemesis, friends, or family members for the grand prize. Both installments of Battle of the Exes (2012) were very popular among the fan base as they guaranteed drama, but the show hasn’t incorporated the former lovers twist since 2015. However, recent seasons seem to hint that a third Exes season is right around the corner.

Survivor star Tyson Apostol appeared on Johnny Bananas’ podcast to discuss The Challenge: USA final. Pic credit: MTV’s The Challenge/YouTube
In The Challenge: USA, viewers saw multiple competitors struggle to advance through the various checkpoints in host Tj Lavin’s final in Patagonia.
Several individuals were out due to injuries or a teammate quitting, which are events they didn’t have much control over.
However, multiple competitors quit by their own decision, including one of the spinoff season’s favorites to win, Tyson Apostol.
The Survivor star outdid the competition through various daily challenges, had a strong alliance, and made strategic game moves all season to stay away from eliminations. However, the game’s top player was defeated by a numbers puzzle when it came to the final.

He’ll have a teammate along for the ride, but as rookies, they’ll need to figure out a way to ensure their safety in the game, based on recent seasons.
Viewers have mostly seen the veteran stars of MTV’s show pick off the rookies systematically to ensure only vets reach the final.
However, Johnny may have gained some valuable insight from other Challenge competitors who appeared in recent seasons of the show or its CBS spinoff.
Additionally, he could have an ally amongst his Season 38 castmates, with newcomer Olivia Kaiser part of the MTV competition show.

Devin Walker is giving his thoughts about The Challenge: USA final. Pic credit: MTV
Devin Walker has called out several of The Challenge: USA stars after watching how things went for the cast members competing in the CBS spinoff show’s final.
The show recently aired its two-hour grand finale on CBS and featured a final that some fans might consider comparable to the MTV show’s finals.
However, CBS’ version featured a variety of circumstances that happened before and during the final that viewers and spinoff cast members have criticized.
Several things caused issues for the competitors, putting them at a disadvantage or costing them a chance to continue competing. In addition, post-season exit interview comments from some finalists have indicated production wasn’t correctly explaining rules along the way.
That said, Devin isn’t listening to any excuses, as he even called out one of the finalists by name,...

And then there were two. The Challenge: USA started its final with 10 players, but then Ben Driebergen was medically disqualified, and by the end, there were only two players at the top of the mountain. And that was because everyone else quit: Enzo Palumbo in the first leg, swimming (taking his partner Desi Williams with him); Angela Rummans, after thinking she could just take last place in the all-night checkpoint; and Tyson Apostol, Justine Ndiba, Dom Abbate, and Cayla Platt during the final leg, at sudoku. Danny McCray reached the finish line first, followed by Sarah Lacina, who had been so far behind she thought she was going to come in last. Thankfully, she refused to quit. Big Brother was one of four CBS reality TV shows that brought cast members to The Challenge: USA, a spinoff of MTV’s popular competition show.
Among those Big Brother stars was David Alexander, who originally appeared in Season 21 of the CBS show, then returned for Season 22, aka All Stars.
David didn’t have the best showing during his original reality TV show, becoming the first player evicted in Bb 21. He fared slightly better in Bb 22, as the ninth player evicted and got onto the All Stars jury.
However, his appearance as an underdog who defied the odds on The Challenge: USA may have boosted his status in the reality TV world.
He recently opened up about how he’s been training hard to appear on The Challenge again, with three potential shows he could go on.

The Fab Five wasn’t so fabulous when it came to working together in the latest episode of The Challenge: USA. In fact, their actions during the daily and subsequent deliberation led to two of them facing off in elimination. Working together, The Amazing Race‘s Cayla Platt, Love Island‘s Cashay Proudfoot and Justine Ndiba, and Survivor‘s Desi Williams and Sarah Lacina should have been able to get Big Brother‘s Alyssa Lopez or Angela Rummans eliminated. Instead, Lacina lost the daily, and winners Williams and Survivor‘s Danny McCray sent in Proudfoot against her. Proudfoot was eliminated. Jonne Roriz, courtesy of Paramount Still, she left feeling like she was leaving a better woman than when she came in. “It was just challenging myself, putting myself in a hard situation,” Proudfoot tells TV Insider, “because I have two dislocated knees, I’m on a fitness show, like what am I doing?...

The Challenge: USA, Episode 9 will bring the second daily challenge where players compete individually, but it could also show who people are targeting in the game and who’s working together.
Sneak peek footage showing the next daily event arrived hours ahead of the episode’s debut on CBS. It includes Survivor star Domenick Abbate mentioning that the game should reveal some competitors’ intentions.
“This game’s about to get messy because I think we’re gonna start to see people’s true colors out here,” Dom says in a confessional scene.
In the footage, viewers learn that competitors are playing a giant game similar to Connect 4, where they must carry large tokens down to a playing field. The object is to get four tokens lined up in a row on their board before an opponent blocks them.

The competition is becoming more intense with each episode of The Challenge: USA, as cast members try to win, strategize, plot, and scheme their ways to Tj Lavin’s final.
They’ll be working harder than ever in those areas, as The Algorithm is now out of the picture, and it’s become an individual game. Having solid allies becomes extra essential.
Ahead of the ninth episode, all but one of the remaining competitors had qualified for the final by earning 5,000 in their personal bank accounts. That’s Survivor star Sarah Lacina, who appears to be looking to eliminate one specific castmate from the game.
Viewers saw a deal set in motion in Episode 8 of the spinoff show after Big Brother star Angela Rummans was the women’s winner in the daily challenge.

The key to winning “The Challenge: USA” is to prevail in the Final Challenge, but in order to qualify for that, contestants must first accumulate at least 5,000 throughout the season. At the start of CBS’s reality TV show, each person was given 1,000 in their banks. There are two ways to earn additional funds: win a daily challenge or survive the elimination arena (which lets them steal the losers’ banks).

After footage recapped the previous episode’s elimination, The Challenge: USA, Episode 8 opened with host Tj Lavin telling the cast it was time to stop using The Algorithm to determine teams.
Instead, Tj said it’s now an “individual game” from now on, with no more teammates for each daily challenge. Tj told everyone to get out of The Arena.
There are just 14 competitors left: Alyssa Lopez, Justine Ndiba, Cashay Proudfoot, Angela Rummans, Cayla Platt, Sarah Lacina, Desi Williams, Ben Driebergen, Tyson Apostol, Danny McCray, Leo Temory, David Alexander, Domenick Abbate, and Enzo Palumbo.
Ben and Danny talked about having each other’s back, possibly forming a secret alliance that also had Sarah in it. Ben said he won all the time on Survivor and expected to do the same on this show, but it hasn’t happened so far.

On The Challenge: USA, four CBS reality TV shows provided competitors with Amazing Race, Big Brother, Love Island, and Survivor.
Due to the nature of their show, Love Island entered the season viewed as a group of underdogs, but several cast members proved that wasn’t the case throughout the episodes.
Among them were Love Island women Shannon St. Clair, Cashay Proudfoot, Justine Ndiba, and Kyra Green, who showed their competitive abilities and began to pose a threat to other competitors.
Justine and Cashay were each able to capture daily challenge wins alongside Survivor’s Tyson Apostol, and each got at least one win each in an elimination event at The Arena.

Big Brother star Angela Rummans was looking to stay safe from elimination in The Challenge: USA, Episode 7. Pic credit: Paramount+
As The Challenge: USA, Episode 7 opened, host Tj Lavin was at The Algorithm board to reveal new teams. Some teams included Enzo Palumbo with Angela Rummans, Danny McCray with Justine Ndiba, David Alexander with Cashay Proudfoot, and Kyland Young with Kyra Green.
Other teams revealed were Leo Temory with Alyssa Lopez, Domenick Abbate with Cayla Platt, Ben Driebergen with Desi Williams, and Tyson Apostol with Sarah Lacina. That made for an interesting pairing after what happened several episodes ago where Tyson sent Sarah and Leo into elimination.
Back at the house, Kyland spoke with Tyson and Angela about their game plan. In a confessional, Kyland said he knew they were targets in the game. Dom said in a confessional that he’s looking for ways to “break up this three-headed monster.
