Lyst is the result of a small filmcompany (Eske & Horn filmproduksjon As) on the westcoast of Norway´s wish to make a feature themself, back then not even thinking about release or distribution. Even though director Severin Eskeland already has a theatrical release on his hands from before (Snarveien/Detour), the intention now was to produce outside the system, this way no one telling them what they could, or could not do. Lyst is more or less non-budget, and we actually went around our little hometown asking for favours from local shops and companies. We got free hotelrooms, free food was delivered to the set, free clothes from one store, and we even got free plane tickets for some of the crew. Everything just sort...

Norway has brought us some of the best horror films in the last couple of years including Rovdyr, Skjult, Cold Prey I & II, and Dod Sno (Dead Snow), but now there is a new star on the horizon. Detour, from director Severin Eskeland, will shine brightly at the Afm, but now the first trailer and poster are available to be seen. To star Marte Germaine Christensen, Sondre Krogtoft Larsen, and Jens Hultèn Detour will be released in North America once distribution has been found. Check out the first trailer for the film below along with a plot summary.
A synopsis for Detour here:
"Driving back to Norway, Lina and Martin reach a roadblock where a policeman tells them to take a detour deep into the Swedish forest. But soon one creepy incident after another leaves them stranded in the dark woods and everything seems much too bizarre to be accidental…...

Back in January we covered some first news here and here on upcoming Norwegian horror directed by Severin Eskeland titled Snarveien (aka The Shortcut). Well it seems they’ve decided that English title just wasn’t quite right and its now sporting the new tag of “Detour.” With a very scant run time of a mere 78 minutes, you can pretty much guess this will heading straight for the gore without wasting much time with such tiresome things as character and plot development. Talking of plots here’s the synopsis from the production company’s website.
