Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Australian actor James Mackay has signed with Elevate Entertainment.
Mackay made his feature film debut in Guillermo del Toro’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (2010) starring alongside Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce. In the remake of the 1973 TV movie of the same name, a family moves to Rhode Island where the patriarch Alex Hurst (Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are restoring a 19th-century mansion. Alex’s daughter Sally (Bailee Madison) discovers a hidden, long-undisturbed basement and unwittingly unleashes a race of dark-dwelling creatures. Mackay portrayed the librarian.
In the 2015 film The Dressmaker, Mackay starred as William Beaumont working opposite Kate Winslet and Sarah Snook. Other film credits include Searchlight’s Battle of the Sexes alongside Emma Stone and Steve Carrell, Hacksaw Ridge for Lionsgate opposite Andrew Garfield and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, among others.

When it comes to an iconic superhero performance, the voice is the key. Superheroes were born on the comics page, a visual medium that can drastically change a character’s appearance depending on the artist, and an actor’s physical performance is just one more variation. But if that performance becomes the voice that people associate with that hero — the voice that you hear when you read a comic, that you imitate when you play with your action figures — it becomes intrinsically tied to the character.
The late Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman. I don’t say that in the past tense, because he will always be the voice of Batman. Conroy voiced Bruce Wayne and his superhero alter ego in hundreds of appearances across television, film, and video games, playing the character from a dizzying number of angles. No matter how comedic or dark the story was,...

Gay characters have come a long way since Steven Carrington (Al Corley) kept sleeping with women on the Og version of Dynasty. Case in point: 9-1-1: Lone Star celebrated same-sex couple Tyler “Tk” Strand (Ronen Rubenstein) and Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) getting engaged when the paramedic proposed to the policeman in the Season 3 finale. Needless to say, fans can’t wait for the action drama to return midseason 2023 on Fox. TV Insider recently caught up with Silva and Rubenstein at the second annual queer television festival The OutFronts in Hollywood to chat with the actors about Tarlos’ engagement and when viewers can expect to hear literal wedding bells. For starters, Rubenstein says the whole reason “Tarlos” even exists is because of series creator Ryan Murphy. “He had a major transgender story on Nip/Tuck nearly 20 years ago,” the actor says, referring to Famke Janssen’s trans character Ava Moore.

The drama is flowing on Dynasty Season 5!
It sure sounds like things are going to get crazier on Dynasty Season 5 Episode 5, airing March 25 on The CW at 9 p.m.
"Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) and Liam (Adam Huber) go to work on their new plan," reads the official logline, hinting that there's some unity between the show's central couple.
If you watch Dynasty online, you know their relationship hit another snag in the form of their chat about having children.
The pair have worked on their relationship of late, and hopefully, they are able to navigate this latest hurdle in a mature way.
The show has a real opportunity to show that the continued tension between Fallon and Liam is not phoned in to increase the drama.
"As Sam (Rafael de la Fuente) works on his own work/life balance, a guest at La Mirage gives him something to think about," the logline adds.
