“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season 8 continued on June 2 with the fifth episode streaming on Paramount+. Airing concurrently with the main show is its Werk Room-focused sister series “Untucked,” now in its 5th season for the “All Stars” franchise. This season, the eliminated queens have the opportunity to compete in the “Fame Games,” an online and social media component to the competition where fans will vote for a queen to win the $50,000 cash prize up for grabs.
In episode 5 of “Untucked,” the 7 remaining queens reflected on the latest challenge and discussed the upcoming elimination. That decision could be in the hands of the group vote among the safe queens or solely in the hands of the week’s top performer, Jimbo, if she won the lip sync against the secret assassin Jasmine Kennedie. The bottom queens up for elimination this time around were Jessica Wild, for the first time, and Kahanna Montrese,...

RuPaul’s Drag Race has entertained audiences around the world since its debut in 2009, and the series has only continued to explode all over the globe with international spin-offs. Every episode of Drag Race culminates in a lip sync battle between two (or more) queens to some beloved hit songs. But throughout all those years, Beyoncé songs were notably absent from the lip syncs. In recent years, however, Bey has become a more common lip sync artist.

The LALAPaRuZa lip sync smackdown has become one of RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s most iconic challenges, as queens compete against each other in jaw-dropping lip syncs to keep their spot in the competition. Season 15 of Drag Race had a larger-than-life LALAPaRuZa, with queens performing to songs such as Anitta‘s “Boys Don’t Cry” and Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me.” Some of the songs in the lip sync tournament have been used on Drag Race in the past.

The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” franchise is up for 11 Emmys, including Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for “Untucked,” the documentary-like series that follows the competing Queens backstage as they decompress during a break. While “Drag Race” and all its offshoots are full of LGBTQ+ representation, the most recent season of “Untucked” was extra special as it saw Season 14 Queen Jasmine Kennedie come out while holding the hand of her sister Kerri Colby.
As TheWrap spoke with Jasmine, Kerri, and executive producers Mandy Salangsang and Tom Campbell during the Awards Season Screening of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” they addressed having that powerful, personal and touching moment captured on TV.

On Wednesday, August 10, in partnership with the Carrera Cafe in Los Angeles, queens from season 14 of VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” unveiled a sickening FYC Mural to celebrate their show’s eight Emmy nominations and the three additional bids for sister series “Untucked,” “All Stars” and “Whatcha Packin’ with Michelle Visage.” Lady Camden, Bosco, Kerri Colby, June Jambalaya, Jasmine Kennedie and DeJa Skye were all in attendance and, following the unveiling, volunteered at the LA LGBT Center in Hollywood by filling food delivery boxes for community families.
The mural is displayed on the outer wall of the Melrose Avenue cafe that will also have special “Drag Race” coffee topper promotions and limited edition coffee cup sleeves as part of the month-long celebration. This story about Michelle Visage and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” first appeared in the Down to the Wire: Comedy issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” has had the Outstanding Competition Program Emmy win on lock since 2018, but just hearing the show was nominated once again in 2022 left judge Michelle Visage awestruck. “I have to pinch myself every time ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is announced,” Visage said. “It does not go unnoticed, unloved, unworshipped, unaccepted. There’s not an ounce, an ion, on my body that takes that for granted every time they call our name.
“There were nine years that we weren’t even acknowledged by the Academy. So each time that we are nominated, it’s like, ‘Oh, my goodness. This is really happening.’”
2022 brought the World of Wonder franchise 11 total Emmy nominations, including host (for RuPaul Charles), cinematography, sound mixing, picture editing, casting, directing and production design for the mothership.

There’s always plenty of fun to be had on RuPaul’s Drag Race, but Season 14 of the VH1 show was a standout because of the emotional moments. And there were many.
From Jasmine Kennedie coming out as a trans woman to Willow Pill’s frankness about battling a rare chronic illness, the latest season of the reality competition that earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Competition Show was really about “the tenacity of the human spirit,” judge and senior producer Michelle Visage says.
“That’s the beauty of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It is a safe space for these kids to be authentically themselves with one another and be there for one another,” added Visage, who was joined on Deadline’s Contenders Television: The Nominees panel with Queens Kerri Colby and Kennedie, showrunner Mandy Salangsang and executive producer Michele Mills. “That’s really at the core of what RuPaul’s Drag Race is all about.

“Normally, on one reality show you look for one or two things. With this we’re looking for like eight,” exclaims “RuPaul’s Drag Race” casting director Ethan Peterson. He and fellow casting director Goloka Bolte have earned two consecutive Emmy Awards for bringing beloved drag queens to the screen. Before a queen can rocket to stardom on the hit reality series, they must first make an impression with these two creatives. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
The key to scoring a slot in the “Drag Race” competition is a killer audition tape and this pair of casting directors watches them all. “We’re looking for those authentic voices, queens who really know who they are and bring something fresh and new to the table,” explains Bolte. She admits that in order to get through the inundation of audition reels there are “a lot of late nights in pajamas,” but the hours are worth it.

The 14th season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” will live in the herstory books as a big step forward for trans representation.
The show began with just two trans queens, Kerri Colby and Kornbread, but as the season progressed, they were joined by three others who spoke their truths, Bosco, Jasmine Kennedie and Willow Pill. It became the most trans-inclusive season to date.
Further cementing the season in herstory, Willow Pill was crowned America’s Drag Race Superstar, and she became the first out transgender winner of the main “Drag Race” franchise.
Speaking with Variety last month at RuPaul’s DragCon, Colby called the season “trans-tastic.” She stressed this wasn’t just a trend for the season, but that it was a place for her to speak her truth. Colby said, “I was very nervous to approach my truth for so long. Part of it was that I never felt like I saw me.

In the wise words of Shangela, "halleloo!"
The reunion format we knew and loved returned on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 15. And the queens delivered an entertaining night that kept us fed with all the delicious drama.
Tea was spilled. Emotions were felt. Arguments got yelled. "Reunited!" served the reunion we sorely missed.
There's something about getting the queens in a room together to dish the dirt that can't be topped.
Reunions that feel real and raw stand out amongst the best in reality TV, and Drag Race has served up plenty of amazing ones. Like, the reunion on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 will forever set the standard for the modern Drag Race reunion.
A great mix of emotional throwbacks and spicy drama to keep us hooked. You could say it gets our "fan favorite" award!
Plus, anything that erases the trainwreck that was RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 15 is a blessing in my book.

Following last week’s double elimination of lip sync assassins Jorgeous and DeJa Skye, only five queens remain in the hunt for the 14th crown of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Heading into episode 14, the field is fairly even in terms of record. Bosco leads with three challenge wins, but was also up for elimination more often than any of the others. Daya Betty was one of the first queens eliminated before coming back, but has managed to dodge a second elimination with strong lip syncs of her own. Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Willow Pill and Lady Camden have all been consistent, only falling to the bottom once (with everyone else) after the “Snatch Game.”

In episode 11 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14, RuPaul Charles called for a Lipsync Lalaparuza Smackdown to determine which of the bottom seven from the previous week’s dismal “Snatch Game” performances would be eliminated. In the tournament, Bosco and Jasmine Kennedie each lost their first two lipsyncs, leaving them to fight for a third time for a final chance to stay. Bosco defeated Jasmine, sending the lipsync assassin heir apparent home for good.
This week, the final seven put on their singing and dancing shoes for the annual Rusical challenge. Read below for our recap of episode 12 to see the queens go twinkle toe to twinkle toe for the roles of their dreams in “Moulin Ru: The Rusical.”

Each week on “Whatcha Packin’,” Michelle Visage interviews the recently eliminated queen and shows us some of the runway looks they didn’t get the chance to use on the show. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In her interview with Michelle, Jasmine admitted that, yes, she does share likenesses to Laganja Estranja outside of drag, but when she’s in drag she’s more often compared to Alyssa Edwards. Michelle said that it’s a compliment to be compared to Laganja, even if they are both “team too much” because of how talented they both are as performers.

That Snatch Game was...a disaster. What happened on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 10 has never happened in Drag Race Herstory.
Never in the mainline series. Not during RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars or the Holi-Slay special. And not during any of the international Drag Race seasons.
In the wise words of Tatianna, the queens made some "Choices!"
Much of "Snatch Game" could best be described as bad choices.
The outfits during the Mini Challenge, the performances during Snatch Game, and even the looks on the runway fell flat. RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 had been a strong season up until this moment.
The queens are all highly skilled performers, so it's shocking to see a car crash of this magnitude hit across the board.
Willow Pill joked during RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 9 that there would eventually be a challenge where the queens would all bomb in. Well, it seems like we found that challenge.

On last Friday’s ninth episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race 14,” the eight remaining queens got to experience what it’s like hosting a panel at RuPaul’s DragCon. RuPaul Charles challenged them to discuss “Menzeses” in two groups of four, with DeJa Skye and Bosco serving as moderators of the conversations. The judges loved both moderators and ultimately chose Bosco as the challenge winner, but in a recent poll You decided that Willow Pill was the strongest panelist from both groups. Scroll down for the complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
Willow was a panelist in the group moderated by DeJa that also included Lady Camden and Angeria Paris VanMichaels. In their conversation, all four queens spoke eloquently on the topic of fatherhood, offering touching stories of their own relationships with their dads that provided the “takeaway” that Ru had advised was an important part of a DragCon panel.

The DragCon panel has become a challenge that needs to return in the future.
On RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 9, the queens thrived in having deep discussions that went beyond gimmicks. Sometimes these serious notes balance out the campy and wacky rounds. (And it's much better formatted than the tedious spoken word task on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 6 Episode 11.)
Simple. Grounded. Heartwarming. A strong week for the competition overall.
Before we get into the seriousness of "Menzeses," the campiness of the Mini Challenge balanced out the tone.
You can't have a Drag Race episode without something outrageous happening. Case in point: quick drag challenges.

Girl group challenges can be such a fun time.
Dancing, singing, and awkward tension between the queens; it's a spark for lots of drama in the Werk Room. RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 8 was no exception!
After a recent trend of "RuPaul's Best Friend Race," it was a pleasant change to get some fire back in the competition. And "'60s Girl Groups" had a good balance of shade and shenanigans.
Case in point: the "Reading is Fundamental!" challenge.
Are there any Drag Race fans who hate this Mini Challenge? This is a classic game that brings all the laughs and memes. It's a must-have and mainstay for every Drag Race season, so I was thrilled it came back again.
Surprisingly, every queen did an amazing job with their reads. Typically, a few queens fail to land a joke and get the awkward silence, but every queen this round packed a punch with their zingers.

With the Daytona Winds still lingering in the atmosphere, Drag Race‘s nine remaining queens stepped out of the stink on Friday — and into the spotlight.
But first, RuPaul finally opened the library, giving the Season 14 queens a chance to read each other for filth. And let me tell you, these girls are literate. Angeria Paris VanMichaels honored Daya Betty with the title of “America’s next… Crystal Methyd,” Lady Camden described Jorgeous as having “the tiniest little waist… of time,” and DeJa Skye told Kerri Colby the one thing she could say that RuPaul hasn’t already: “Condragulations!”

Also seen in the sneak peak, while Jasmine Kennedie is bummed she wasn’t one of the top two queens of the previous week, her coming out in her trans identity to the other girls during the “Untucked” episode has given her newfound strength and a support system of friends. Speaking of sisterhood, when the girls enter the spotlight to read each other to filth, Angeria Paris VanMichaels takes a dig at Lady Camden‘s jawline,...

On last Friday’s seventh episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race 14,” RuPaul Charles surprised the queens with a non-elimination. Because they all performed so well in the soap opera spoof “The Daytona Wind,” Ru could not put any of the queens in the bottom. Instead she named the top six and had two of them lipsync for the win and a $5,000 cash tip. We asked in a recent poll which of those top queens deserved to win and you voted Lady Camden by an overwhelming margin and in agreement with the judges. Scroll down for the complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
In the final “director’s cut” of “The Daytona Wind,” Ru and the judges acknowledged that all of the queens delivered good performances and that none of them deserved to go home. Camden was praised for committing to a character in the soap; on the runway,...

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Monét X Change runs down the tricks and trades of the newest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with a guest host. Following Friday’s seventh episode, season 6 finalist Adore Delano and Monét live their punk girl fantasy while sharing their love for Lady Camden and Bosco. They agree that those two queens nailed the challenge and the soap opera looks, as well as their chaps on the runway garments. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap, Monét and Adore acknowledge that Daya Betty‘s emotions are heightened because of the stress of the competition, but also think Daya needed to accept the result and move on. Adore even says that she was probably jealous of Jorgeous and that her apology to her the next morning was insincere and for the cameras. In the final cut of “The Daytona Wind,...
