Could The CW have one last Arrowverse crossover up its sleeve? Following remarks made by Tom Cavanagh at a convention over the weekend, TVLine has confirmed that the Flash vet will appear in the series finale of Superman & Lois, appropriately titled “It Went By So Fast.”
Cavanagh originally hoped to direct the pivotal episode, having previously helmed the Season 1 finale and Season 3 premiere, but the gig was already promised to frequent Superman & Lois director Gregory Smith. That’s when showrunner Todd Helbing got an idea, one that will leave fans theorizing for months to come.

Despite not being connected to the larger Arrowverse, ‘Superman & Lois’ is easily the best CW superhero show in terms of quality writing. The show did have its ups and downs, especially last year.
After Nexstar acquired CW and the network was bound to be restructured, ‘Superman & Lois’ survived the onslaught during which many shows were canceled. This led to some of the main cast being let go, fewer writers and the episode count was slashed compared to previous seasons. Now after several months of filming the last season of ‘Superman & Lois’ has wrapped filming, ready for the Fall 2024 release date.
Speaking at Fan Expo Philadelphia Tom Cavanagh revealed he is both directing and acting in the final season of ‘Superman & Lois.’

While ‘Superman & Lois’ remains distinct from the broader Arrowverse, it stands out as the CW’s top superhero series due to its strong writing. Despite facing challenges, including changes following Nexstar’s acquisition of CW, the show managed to survive restructuring while other series were canceled.
This resulted in some main cast members being released, fewer writers, and a reduced episode count compared to previous seasons. Now, after months of filming, the final season of ‘Superman & Lois’ has concluded production, gearing up for its Fall 2024 premiere.

Despite being set up in another universe, Superman & Lois is a thrilling tale of Earth’s mightiest DC hero and a world-renowned journalist who is also his love interest. After three successful seasons, the series will be coming to an end with its fourth and final season. Poised to have Lex Luthor as the chief villain, fans can hardly wait.

Originally slated to be part of the Arrowverse, the series will bring back one iconic The Flash actor in its series finale episode. While no other details have been revealed, the addition of the fan-favorite star can help bridge the gap between the Arrowverse and Superman & Lois.

Love or hate the Arrowverse, there's no denying that Tom Cavanagh's performance as the Reverse-Flash was hard to find fault with. As the years passed, The Flash diluted the character by having the actor play multiple versions of "Harrison Wells." However, in the suit, Cavanagh proved himself a truly formidable villain.
His story ended in the Scarlet Speedster's series, but we can look forward to at least one final appearance from the actor in the DC Universe.
Superman & Lois will conclude with its fourth and final season later this year, and unlike Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman, the show's creative team have received enough notice to craft what we hope will be a satisfying ending.
The question now is, will that ending include an appearance from Eobard Thawne?

Regardless of one’s opinions towards the Arrowverse, it was difficult to criticize Tom Cavanagh’s portrayal of Eobard Thawne / Reverse-Flash. He has even played multiple versions of Harrison Wells on the CW’s The Flash, which stars Grant Gustin in the lead.
Cavanagh recently said that he would be amenable to reprising his role as Reverse-Flash in James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe. Well, the Guardians of the Galaxy director, 57, would have a good reason to bring the Canadian actor back to the role in the Dcu since the viewers praised his portrayal of Eobard Thawne.

This post contains spoilers for The Flash series finale.
The Flash has always been about hope, even when things look darkest. And for fans of the Arrowverse, it’s hard to imagine anything darker than the series finale. Not only is the official Arrowverse coming to a close with the end of The Flash, but even other superhero shows on the CW face an uncertain future, with Superman & Lois and Gotham Knights facing potential cancelation. And yet, during the final episode of The Flash, hope arrived in the form of a lightning bolt.
As expected, the final episode built to a showdown between Flash Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cobalt Blue (Rick Cosnett). But the really exciting part of the show came in its final seconds, when Barry told a story to his and Iris’s (Candice Patton) newborn daughter Nora, herself destined to become super-speedster Xs (Jessica Parker Kennedy...

The following contains major spoilers for The Flash series finale.
Now that The Flash, the current elder statesman of superhero television, has officially taken his last run, the obvious question is: What’s next? With much of the larger DC onscreen universe in flux, as James Gunn takes the reins of the franchise with plans to unite the film and television worlds, there’s not much that’s a sure thing at the moment. The CW Arrowverse as we all once knew it is over. And while The Flash movie is finally set to arrive in theaters next month, there’s little guarantee that its—or, really, any—version of Barry Allen will transfer into this brave new world that Gunn is spearheading.
But, at least one member of The CW’s The Flash is confident that we haven’t seen the last of its characters. Actor Tom Cavanagh, who...

The Legends of Tomorrow will get a Flash from their past when Arrowverse alum Matt Letscher reprises his role as Eobard Thawne later this month.
Having first played Thawne on The Flash, Letscher last appeared on Legends at the end of Season 2, capping a season that pit Sara & Co. against the Legion of Doom (which came in the form of Thawne, Neal McDonough’s Damien Darhk and John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn).

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Flash Season 8, Episode 4 “Armageddon, Part 4.”] Picking up just before where “Part 3” left off, Armageddon officially arrives on The Flash in the December 7 episode. But, as Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) learns as a result of his trip to the future, not everything is at it seems. And he really should have seen this one coming. Fortunately, there’s a fix, one that leaves us wondering just how much of what happens in 2031 could still come to fruition across the Arrowverse. Welcome to Your Worst Nightmare, Barry Allen After witnessing his arch nemesis, Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh — apparently no one wonders why he looks like Harrison Wells?), at his engagement party to Iris West (Candice Patton), Barry tries to tell everyone how it’s supposed to be as he realizes who’s really responsible for everything going wrong in his life recently. But in this future, Eobard is the Flash, while...

The following The Flash: Armageddon article contains spoilers.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 4
Almost anyone who has watched The Flash for any length of time knows there really three certain things in life: Death, taxes, and the Reverse Flash. By far the most iconic of Barry Allen’s foes, Eobard Thawne is guaranteed to turn up every few seasons like clockwork, in an attempt to kill The Flash, steal his speed, or just generally ruin his life.
The danger, of course, lies in the risk of repeated Reverse Flash appearances becoming stale or boring, even repetitive at certain points. In the past, The Flash has struggled with what to do with multiple versions of the character of Harrison Wells and has had a bad habit of relying on Thawne as a solution to many narrative problems.
“It’s a funny thing,” actor Tom Cavanagh, who plays Eobard Thawne, tells Den of Geek.
