Jeremy Renner is the strongest real-life Avenger and there’s no denying it after his recovery from last year’s accident. The Hawkeye star was run over by his heavy snowcat when attempting to stop it from running over his nephew. While fans read about his broken ribs, legs, and other numerous injuries, one recent revelation from his Mayor of Kingstown co-star not only paints a picture of the horrible nature of the accident but also of the resilient Renner.
Jeremy Renner will return in the third season of Mayor of Kingstown
Michael Beach revealed that Renner clinically died when he was first admitted to the hospital right after the accident. The Dahmer actor has been consistently posting about his recovery process to his Instagram. He recently appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for Silk Protein Almondmilk.

After the runaway success of Netflix and Tim Burton’s Addams Family stand-alone series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer renewed it for second season in January 2023. That decision came less than three months after the eight-episode Season 1 premiered, eventually becoming the most-watched original series ever on the streamer ever with more than 252 million views to date, far surpassing Stranger Things‘ Season 4, Dahmer and Season 1 of Bridgerton on the all-time list.
Season 1 ending up scoring 12 Emmy nominations, including for Ortega in Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, becoming just the third Latina to ever be nominated in a leading actress category. The series won four Emmys, though Ortega lost out to Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson on Emmy night.

For the first time since his character was seemingly killed off on “General Hospital” earlier this year, actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer Cassadine) has officially confirmed his exit from the daytime drama series after posting a formal statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
“I’m so appreciative of the opportunity that ‘Gh’ gave me, and I wouldn’t be as busy as I am professionally if it weren’t for the talented producers, writers, directors and fellow actors,” began Chavez in his statement before calling attention to Frank Valentini, the show’s executive producer, where he called him a “mentor and friend.” Chavez also notes he and the show are keeping the door open for a potential return should the opportunity arise.
“Frank Valentini is a mentor and a friend, and we’ve had some pretty extensive conversations about my future on the show. While there are no current plans for me to return,...

The new Call of Duty Killer Serial Creep party pack received criticism from several players for its alleged resemblance to real-life serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer. Several fans quickly made comparisons to Dahmer, the infamous serial killer. For decades, Jeffrey Dahmer’s horrific story has haunted the citizens of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although many true crime enthusiasts are familiar with his crimes, many grew familiar with the story after Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story premiered on Netflix.
Thankfully, police eventually apprehended Dahmer for his crimes and he went to prison. But how did the police capture him? And what happened to him after his incarceration began?
Keep reading to get the scoop.
Jeffrey Dahmer’s Despicable Crimes Intrigued Netflix Subscribers
Many Netflix subscribers have heard of the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer before. However, not everyone realized the extent of his brutal crimes. Monster dug deep into the horrifying story and shone a light on the victims who lost their lives at Dahmer’s hands.
The limited series features Dahmer’s crimes from start to finish, ranging from 1978-1991. Today, authorities know he raped, murdered, and destroyed the remains of at least 17 people.

In 2022, Netflix and showrunner Ryan Murphy released Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to mixed reviews and a tremendous amount of controversy.
While the series received acclaim from some critics for its performances and its unflinching portrayal of Dahmer's grisly crimes, others felt that the show went too far in humanizing the monster at its core.
Now, Murphy is preparing to court controversy again, this time with the story of Erik and Lyle Menendez.
The Menendez brothers are far more sympathetic figures than Dahmer, but the fact remains that they committed two brutal murders, which the show will likely depict in graphic detail.
Their murder trial became a national sensation when it was broadcast on Court TV in 1993, but our younger readers might be hearing the Menendez name for the first time.
So here's a rundown of what you can expect from a show that's sure to generate a lot...

The classless practice of traumatic profiteering is alive and well in Thomas Walton’s micro-budget slasher Camp Pleasant Lake. We’ve become a society obsessed with gnarly true crime documentaries and podcasts, lifting infamous serial killers to celebrity status. As superfans once wrote letters to Charles Manson in prison, studios now churn out streaming programs about despicable icons like Bundy and Dahmer to capitalize on trending viewership. Camp Pleasant Lake is an intriguing commentary on selling someone else’s grief and loss for your next payday, but at no point does Walton’s execution do his “Horror LARPing” concept justice.
The film takes place at Camp Echo Lake, where new owners Rick (Michael Paré) and Darlene Rutherford (Maritza Brikisak) have reopened as an immersive Halloween experience. For $10,000, attendees are treated to “Camp of Terror,” an all-inclusive murder party that ties back to a horrible crime committed on the grounds 20 years prior.

Nobody loves a good tease quite like “American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy, and this latest one is for a horror project we didn’t even know existed until, well, right now.
It’s titled “Grotesquerie,” a new horror drama coming soon to FX.
Niecy Nash-Betts (“Dahmer”) will star in the upcoming horror series alongside Courtney B. Vance (“Lovecraft Country”) and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread).
Ryan Murphy also debuted a short teaser trailer for “Grotesquerie” on social media this afternoon, which features Niecy Nash-Betts talking over a blank screen. Her character says:
“I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now. There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world. A kind of hole at the center of nothingness. What I saw today… they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene.

Plot: Acclaimed writer Truman Capote surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed “the swans.” Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiated himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidante, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story received mixed reviews for glorifying the Milwaukee Monster’s atrocities. The 2023 Emmy Awards finally took place on Monday night, with series like The Bear, Beef and Succession winning big.
The ceremony, hosted by Anthony Anderson and held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, was postponed for months due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes. Thus, to be considered for an award, a television show, limited series or made-for-tv film must have been released between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
The National Active Members of the Television Academy voted on the awards from August 18 to August 28, 2023.
Succession walked away with seven wins for its final season, including Best Drama and recognition for actors Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen. The show also received awards for Best Directing for a Drama Series for Mark Mylod and Best Writing for a Drama Series for Jesse Armstrong.

What makes the results of Monday night’s 75th Emmys particularly interesting to me is that they come at the end of a season unlike any other, in which virtually all traditional Emmy campaign tactics — as in, famous people shaking hands, kissing babies, doing interviews, appearing on FYC panels, etc. — were removed from the equation.
Even during the Covid-impacted 2020 and 2021 Emmy seasons, talent did press and made appearances, albeit remotely, which unquestionably shaped the viewing and voting priorities of TV Academy members. But the 2023 Emmy season — nomination voting for which ran June 15-26, final voting for which ran Aug. 17-28 — had none of that, at least after the Writers Guild went on strike on May 2, followed by SAG-AFTRA on July 14, with the former not resolving until Sept. 27 and the latter until Nov. 9.
Therefore, it seems to me, voter considerations that led to the nominees that we got were as follows:...

Emmys 2024 Highlights: Moments That Made The Award Memorable ( Photo Credit – Emmys – Television Academy / Instagram )
The 75th Emmy Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the television world, and this year, the shows – Beef, Succession, and The Bear dominated the ceremony by bagging most of the awards. Like every award show, it, too, was an eventful one with some fantastic moments. Some were emotional, and some were funny. Let us take a look at the Emmys 2024 Highlights.

In a normal year, the 2023 Emmy Awards would have actually taken place in 2023. But last year was anything but normal in Hollywood, and the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes caused the award ceremony’s postponement to January 15, 2024.
Fans of Succession, The Bear, and Beef had a lot to celebrate as Emmy voters threw most of the awards in their direction. Succession and The Bear tied with six wins each, and Beef wasn’t far behind with five.
Highlights included Christina Applegate’s surprise appearance on stage to a standing ovation, Carol Burnett presenting to Quinta Brunson (the first Black actress to win as Lead Actress in a Comedy since 1981), and Niecy Nash-Betts’ powerful acceptance speech for Dahmer. There were also cast reunions and Sir Elton John finally received the E portion of Egot for his Farewell From Dodger Stadium special.

Was it because of the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr., or simply a sign of the times, that the 2023 Emmys was its most diverse ever?

Way back in (checks notes) July last year, we reported on the Emmy nominations, noting that the strikes could delay it. Welp, delay it they did, and the 2023 ceremony has just happened in Los Angeles on Monday night. The ceremony, hosted by actor and comedian Anthony Anderson, had little reference to the strikes, but did dig back into TV history given that it was the 75th ceremony. Recent history, though, was more on voters' minds as Beef, Succession and The Bear continued their small screen awards domination.
Succession and The Bear nabbed six trophies each across acting, directing and writing categories, while Beef took home five. Other winners included Jennifer Coolidge (for The White Lotus) and Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story's Niecy Nash-Betts.

Niecy Nash-Betts took home her first Primetime Emmy Award on Monday, and the five-time nominee took the opportunity to celebrate herself for the milestone achievement. Up top, the actress thanked God for “this divine moment;” then Murphy, Netflix, the Academy voters and her wife, Jessica Betts. But then, it was time for some self-love.
“And you know who I want to thank? I want to thank me for believing in me and doing what they said I could not do,” the actress said during her acceptance speech. “And I want to say to myself in front of all these beautiful people, go on girl with your bad self. You did that!”

“I accept this award on behalf of every black and brown woman who has gone unheard yet overpoliced, like Glenda Cleveland, like Sandra Bland, like Breonna Taylor,” said Niecy Nash-Betts in a passionate acceptance speech at tonight’s Emmy Awards.
Nash-Betts won Best Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie for her role, noted above, of Glenda Cleveland in Netflix’ Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, who got the brush-off from police when she tried to alert them to the horror down the hall.
“My job is to speak truth to power, and baby I am going to do it until the day I die,” she said.
In the series, Cleveland knew that really bad things were happening in Dahmer’s apartment alerting the police to the smell, the screams, but her calls were repeatedly and condescendingly dismissed, which just about breaks her heart. In one horrific scene,...

Los Angeles, Jan 16 (Ians) Actress Niecy Nash clinched the honour for Outstanding Supporting Actress Limited or Anthology Series for her performance in the streaming series ‘Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ at the currently ongoing 75th edition of Primetime Emmy Awards.
The official handle of Television Academy took to their official handle on X, erstwhile Twitter, and wrote, “The #Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie goes to @NiecyNash for Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story ( @Netflix )! #Emmys #75thEmmys”.
The actress’ emotional, moving, political and life-affirming speech gave tough competition to the title of her series, ‘Dahmer’, and much easier to watch.
She pulled off a Snoop Dogg during her speech as she said, “I wanna thank me, for believing in me”.
‘Dahmer’ is about the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, and how he became one of the most notorious serial killers in America.

The 75th Primetime Emmys offer the biggest night in television, as the stars and creators of entertainment on the small screen gather to celebrate each other. Anthony Anderson hosted the 2024 Emmys broadcast, which honored the finest in drama and comedy on television, as well as some love for limited series, variety shows, and even reality television.
"Succession" came away as the big winner with the trophy for Drama Series, as well as a couple of major acting awards for Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook. On the comedy side, "The Bear" won the top Comedy Series prize, while stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach all won acting awards too. Finally, in the limited series category, "Beef" walked away with the major award for Limited Series, with Steven Yeun and Ali Wong taking home acting awards. Plus, the directors and writers for all of those shows took home trophies too.

Another edition of the Primetime Emmys is in the books, and Succession, The Bear and Beef cleaned up, earning almost every award they were nominated for in their respective categories. It’s crazy to think, but the nominees were announced way back in July, as the ceremony was postponed from September all the way until now due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Succession has taken home the Emmy for Best Drama Series every year it’s been nominated in, except the first season. To note, the (many) awards The Bear won tonight were for its first season rather than its even more acclaimed second season, which aired on Hulu after the cut-off for Emmy consideration. Just last night, The Bear won a whole raft of awards at the Cca’s for season 2, so expect them to be right back on the Emmy stage before long.

On Monsters, Lane joins Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch, who play Lyle and Erik, respectively, as well as Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny, who portray their parents.

The second chapter of Ryan Murphy’s Monster anthology at Netflix, which will focus on the Menendez brothers case, has filled two key roles with big names.
Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny will play José and Kitty Menendez, the parents of Lyle and Erik. The brothers’ 1989 killing of their parents sparked a media firestorm, and Lyle and Erik were eventually convicted of murder.
The anthology series will be Bardem’s first major role in an American TV series. Sevigny has worked with Murphy several times in the past, appearing in two seasons of American Horror Story and the forthcoming Feud: Capote vs. the Swans at FX.

The Tragic Tale of Jeffrey Dahmer’s Victim as a Beloved Character When we think of heinous crimes, few names evoke the chilling horror that Jeffrey Dahmer‘s does. His abhorrent acts against 17 young men and boys, predominantly from Black, Latino, and Asian communities, have left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness. The victims, lured from gay bars, bus stops, and malls, suffered fates that defy comprehension. Dahmer’s reign of terror, which spanned from 1978 to 1991, didn’t just end lives; it shattered families and communities. As we delve into this narrative, we must approach it with a deep sense...

When Marlee Matlin began her career 35 years ago, she says there was “nothing” in terms of accessibility in the awards industry space. But that’s begun to change, especially following her film Coda’s best picture win in 2022, including at the 2023 Oscars, where she saw a “significant improvement.”
“I’ve seen changes in award shows and how they are perceived by people who attend them, by producers, by the people who make the decisions as to what to present on the air — all the little things,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Coda really was a game changer and made a huge impact in terms of equity, accessibility, and just how people are perceived in general.”

When the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes ended, someone opened the floodgates for news pouring out of Hollywood. In addition to giving actors the go-ahead to hype their latest projects, updates for existing films and television series continue to rain like men. According to Collider, production for the long-gestating Tron sequel, Tron: Ares, starts filming in Vancouver after the holidays. Initially, cameras were supposed to roll in August, but the strikes delayed the process by several months. The shutdown was harsh, with Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning expressing his disappointment about over 150 people terminated from the production.
“Today was supposed to be our first day of principal photography on Tron: Ares,” Rønning said in a straight-forward Instagram post in August. “Instead, we are shut down with over a hundred and fifty people laid off. It’s indefinite, which makes it exponentially harder for everyone…The AMPTP, SAG-AFTRA and WGA need...

George Kay looks conflicted. Speaking to Deadline before the resolution of the writers strike, the British WGA member had put down his pen on an Amazon Studios movie project and ducked a U.S. publicity round for his Apple TV+ series Hijack. But it’s fair to say that the strikes coincided with Kay having a serious moment.
Not unlike the protagonist in Hijack, Idris Elba’s brooding professional negotiator Sam Nelson, Kay has spent years maneuvering his way between three complex projects for Apple, Netflix and ITV/Sundance—only for them all to launch within four months of each other.
Just like Nelson’s character in Hijack—“He gets brought in, by big companies…when it all kicks off,” Nelson’s wife explains to a police officer in the show—Kay’s the man you bring in when you want to deliver a character-led thriller that will keep viewers hooked over several episodes.

The second episode of John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams presents one of the most horrific criminal cases involving a serial killer named Allan Legere, who was quite notorious in the suburbs of Miramichi, New Brunswick. This episode is way more horrifying than the ghost story of the previous episode and brings to light a real-life horror incident beyond mere imagination. Allan Legere may not be a widely known serial killer like Dahmer or Richard Ramirez, but his horrific deeds are unsettling and gut-wrenching enough to spread terror within a neighborhood. Let’s unravel the mystery behind the killer of Miramichi, explored in episode 2 of John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams.

Legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter is the master of reminding us that there really is a monster under our bed. And once again he’s expertly about to scare the living daylights out of us with the new Peacock series, John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams.
Executive producer Sandy King told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that the six-episode series is designed to scare you where you feel safest.
“You tip-toe when you go into a place you don’t know, you tip-toe when you’re in a place that’s foreign to you or a dark tunnel,” King said. “You’re not guarded in your front lawn. You’re not guarded in the woods by your house.”
She added, “You’re not guarded where you grow up. So basically, we mess with you by saying, ‘Oh, that’s where it’s going to get you. And by the way, kids, there is a monster in your closet.

The younger brother of American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, Dahmer would have remained unknown to the general public without his blood ties with Jeffrey, who murdered and dismembered 17 male victims between 1978 and 1991. While they were separated from each other at a young age, the brothers spent a few years as a family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Infamous for his ‘twisted and ironically heroic’ acts of murder, the story of Christopher Scarver shook the world in the early 1990s. The man credited for ending Jeffrey Dahmer‘s reign of terror took matters into his own hands and brutally killed Dahmer while on a routine cleaning duty together. This earned him multiple sentences and a close-to-nothing chance of ever getting out of prison. While Scarver Sr. was closed off to the real world, he still has some ties with it. Before he was incarcerated, he was expecting a son, however, he never got to see him as he was...

What happens when the kidnapped becomes the kidnapper? That’s now the question around NBC’s “Found,” which debuts on Tuesday on NBC. Originally, the logline for the Shanola Hampton-led drama series read: “Public relations specialist Gabi Mosely — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.”
On Sept. 12, that second part of that description changed to: “Gabi was once herself one of those forgotten ones, and is still hiding a chilling secret of her own – she has found her kidnapper, Sir, (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), and uses his twisted expertise to help solve their cases.”
Additionally, the trailers share Gabi’s secret and the fact that Sir is desperate to get out. Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll...

Franchise veterans John “Jigsaw” Kramer (Tobin Bell) and Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) are back in action in the milestone sequel Saw X (our review), playing in theaters now. The sequel blends the old with the new, including relocating the lethal terror to Mexico. Bloody Disgusting spoke with director Kevin Greutert and production designer Anthony Stabley about how the Mexico setting informed the traps and new batch of survivors.
Watch the video interview below, where Stabley reveals what mythology he drew from when creating the production design, and how actor Paulette Hernandez‘s intensity set the bar high for the scenes that followed.
Director Kevin Greutert, the franchise’s long-term editor since 2004’s Saw, helms the tenth installment from the screenplay by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.
Greutert, Bell, and Smith aren’t the only returning franchise vets either; producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules launched the franchise in 2004 alongside James Wan...

Franchise veterans John “Jigsaw” Kramer (Tobin Bell) and Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) are back in action in the milestone sequel Saw X (our review). But they’re not the only franchise mainstays that worked to bring the gory sequel to life.
Director Kevin Greutert (Saw VI, Saw 3D), the franchise’s long-term editor since 2004’s Saw, helms the tenth installment from the screenplay by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.
Greutert, Bell, and Smith aren’t the only returning franchise vets either; producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules launched the franchise in 2004 alongside James Wan and Leigh Whannell and have been with the franchise the entire way.
With nearly twenty years of franchise lore, history, and experience with Jigsaw and his gnarly traps under their belts, few know Saw quite like Burg and Koules.
Bloody Disgusting spoke with the tenured producers about Saw X and how much input they have on John Kramer’s lethal traps.

We ended last week with the first-ever clip from Lionsgate’s forthcoming Saw X, which gave us our first extended look at one of Jigsaw’s new devices – the eye trap!
The surprise with this contraption is that the game is actually connected to the character’s fingers, snapping them back with each turn of a dial. With the clip came a brand new image that gives a nice and clear look at Jigsaw’s menacing game, which appears to have already snapped three of the “victim’s” fingers.
“John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back for the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s final games.”
“Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.
