“Hey, Bats!” a cheerful voice exclaimed from behind. Bruce turned.
“Peter,” he grumbled at the young man standing in the driveway. “I told you not to call me that when I’m out of the suit.”
“Sorry, Bats! Forgot,” Peter Parker replied merrily.
Bruce groaned inwardly. Here we go again, he thought. “Peter, what are you doing here?” he asked.

As many iTunes lovers and Youtube fanatics understand, music (old and new) has become a huge factor on hit television shows and both the show and artists featured benefit from the collaboration. Ever YouTube a certain scene from your favorite show for hours on end? Did it have a catchy song that you immediately downloaded? Yes, the odds are that you have.
Television show soundtracks are an obsession over here and the music played make that specific scene that much more memorable. Take Dawson's Creek, for example. Its theme song (and our favorite show song to date) put singer Paula Cole on the map. It also also continues to remind fans everywhere of Pacey, Joey and Dawson when the song comes on the radio. You know, the good ole' days when the kids just walked on the beach, not arguing just yet about a love triangle or who's going to...

When Jim Carrey sang a duet with Conan O'Brien of Five For Fighting's "Superman (It's Not Easy)" wearing Aaron Johnson's green suit from "Kick-Ass," who would have thought he'd be fighting alongside Johnson just a few years later?

Casting for Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall has kicked into high gear, and now the sequel to 2010′s popular superhero spoof is courting Jim Carrey for one of its roles. Outlets are reporting that the actor is being sought out to play The Colonel, a character who rallies the heroes to action, in the Jeff Wadlow-directed film.
Carrey has been a somewhat vocal fan of Matthew Vaughn’s original film, going as far as to wear a Kick-Ass costume while performing the song “Superman” by Five for Fighting with Conan O’Brien when the comedian toured the country after losing his show on NBC.
The news is wishful casting this point, as Carrey has not officially entered negotiations. If he does sign on, he would join new additions Donald Faison as Dr. Gravity, Morris Chestnut as Hit Girl’s (Chloe Moretz) guardian and Robert Emms as Insect Man.

We haven’t done a random ‘music argument’ list in a while, so here’s a topic for discussion: Really lame bands with really intense band names. As in, bands whose actual music doesn’t live up to the aggressiveness, violence, or intensity implied by their band name, often to hilarious degrees. A Crucial Distinction: “Lame” does not necessarily mean “Bad”. I enjoy many of the bands on this list – I enjoy Billy Joel too, for example, but Billy Joel is overwhelmingly lame, and these things are not mutually exclusive. Here are The 15 Lamest Bands With Intense Names, ordered by increasing discrepancy between “Name Intensity” and “Music Lameness”, using official science: 15. Five For Fighting The band name connotes “Five Minutes” for a fighting penalty in ice hockey, or just five people who are “for” fighting, two concepts that are both slightly incongruous with the ever-so-whinily delivered lyric “Only a man...

While some early favorites such as Siameze Floyd and adorable not-yet couple McKenna and Brock cracked under the pressure, others, including Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik and cutie brother act the Brewer Boys, survived the group competition and punched their ticket to the next round.

New York (Associated Press) -- John Ondrasik sat on the stage at Madison Square Garden, looked out at the crowd and immediately knew something special was happening.
The singer-songwriter, who goes by the stage name Five For Fighting, was performing his song "Superman (It's Not Easy)" nearly 10 years ago at the Concert for New York City when he saw all the faces. The Muscular Dystrophy Association has announced that plans for its 2010 Jerry Lewis Mda Telethon are almost complete, and the 21 1/2-hour live show is going to be spectacular.
From live remotes to amazing dance and production numbers, to sensational music performances (e.g., David Archuleta, Enrique Iglesias, Lynyrd Skynryd, War, John Ondrasik, OneRepublic, Barry Manilow and many more), to side-splitting comedy and dramatic appeals by some of America’s most popular entertainers, the two-day television event is certain to delight viewers Labor Day weekend.
“Yes, the Telethon is consistently big on entertainment value,” said Gerald C. Weinberg, Mda president & CEO and Telethon executive producer. “But, unlike other live shows, our unique television program is an outstanding catalyst for the public support needed to advance Mda’s lifesaving mission year-round.”

On his "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television" tour at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, talkshow host Conan O'Brien welcomed a very special guest to join him on stage. As the 46-year-old broke out in his rendition of Five for Fighting's "Superman (It's Not Easy)," fellow funnyman Jim Carrey walked in singing the second verse dressed as Kick Ass. The audience laughed as the masked actor entered he arena, and cheered loudly when Jim ripped off his mask to reveal his true identity. Conan also changed into a Superman outfit to finish the song with his avid supporter. Click to watch the video!

Looks like Jim Carrey is making the most of the single life. The Liar, Liar actor, who recently split from his longtime companion Jenny McCarthy, enjoyed a guys' night out on Saturday, hitting the Los Angeles stop of exiled talk-show host Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour" to belt out a duet of Five for Fighting's "Superman." And because Carrey can't seem to go anywhere without freaking us all out with his wardrobe, he of course wore a Superman costume for the occasion. Of course. Later, O'Brien tweeted of the guest appearance, "Jim Carrey rudely interrupted my power...

Jim Carrey made a memorable cameo at Conan O'Brien's stage show in L.A. on Saturday night, performing the title role in a spirited duet with O'Brien of the Five for Fighting song "Superman." Carrey's unexpected appearance in a cape and tights brought screams of delight from the crowd at O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on TV" show, which he performed Saturday at the same Universal lot where he used to film The Tonight Show. "Jim Carrey rudely interrupted my power ballad last night. How did he get past security in a Superman outfit?" O'Brien Tweeted later. Related:...

Jim Carrey joined Conan O'Brien onstage during the Universal City installment of Conan's “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On TV Tour” Saturday night. The duo sang Five For Fighting's "Superman (It's Not Easy)," because, by April 24, 2010, it was about time two comedians did that. Watch a fan-uploaded video of the performance after the jump. It really is like two little kids "playing Superman." I especially like Conan's Beyoncé hand and Carrey's high kicks. Halt the moving trucks! Conan O'Brien confirmed on stage Sunday night at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA that he won't be returning to New York City. He won't be buying peanuts anytime soon from the street vendors in Manhattan, but it was evident that he has a peanut gang of his own. Some of Conan's funny friends made cameo appearances during his "The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour." Jim Carrey made an encore appearance, reprising his rendition of "Superman" by Five For Fighting. Sarah Silverman, Seth Green, and Jonah Hill also joined the fun. Two faces from NBC shows even pledged their support for Coco. "Parks and Recreation"'s Aziz Ansari and the hilarious Kenneth the Page from "30 Rock," Jack McBrayer, dared to reunite with their former network-mate. Since parting ways with his post at "The Tonight Show," Conan will be debuting a new late-night show on TBS in November.

On the Los Angeles leg of his comedy tour, Conan O'Brien's audience was greeted by surprise guest Jim Carrey, who came dressed like a superhero. I feel sorry for you, and B.) here's a little taste of the comedy magic that went down." A show really isn't a show until Jim Carrey walks on stage in a Superman costume and belts out a tune. Such was the case Saturday night at the Los Angeles pit stop of Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour" when the funnyman joined Coco on stage for a tongue-in-cheek rendition of Five for Fighting's "Superman (It Ain't Easy)". This came after O'Brien did a quick stand-up routine about how tough it is to be him to kick off the event. We have suggestions for Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze and the rest of the finalists before 'Idol Gives Back.'
By Eric Ditzian
Crystal Bowersox performs on "American Idol"
Photo: Fox
"American Idol" opened up its stage to inspirational songs, in 2007 and 2008, as part of its "Idol Gives Back" charity show. Those theme weeks gave us performances that were either uplifting (Jason Castro's ethereal "Somewhere Over the Rainbow") or left us in the reality-show doldrums (Michael John's "Dream On," which got him the boot).
After taking a year off during a recession-afflicted 2009, "Idol Gives Back" and inspirational songs are back — this time led by mentor Alicia Keys. The wide-open theme will give contestants the chance to go old-school (Frank Sinatra) or contemporary (Kelly Clarkson), youthful (Jordin Sparks) or mature (Susan Boyle), country (Rascal Flatts), soul (James Brown) or rock (Queen). In short, "Idol" hopefuls can take their song...

The Inspirational Song choices are available on iTunes, so we thought we'd offer some suggestions for the "American Idol" Top 7.
We will admit that the song list is rather weird -- some of the songs don't exactly strike us as "inspirational," plus you have to automatically discount certain songs. For example...
The Idols should probably steer clear of the other Idol songs. Like "A Moment Like This" is the No. 1 Kelly Clarkson "Idol" moment, so we're not sure they should try that one. Doing other Idol hits is just a little too meta. We'd call that a big no-no.
Then there are the over-played barf-worthy songs like "Greatest Love of All" and "That's What Friends Are For." We'd advise steering clear of those too, especially since "Greatest Love" should just be retired after Cordelia Chase did it for the "Buffy" talent show. Then there are a few duets on the list,...

Five For Fighting once said in their song “Superman” that “even heroes have a right to bleed.” Kick-Ass, the latest blockbuster to be adapted from a comic book, takes the essence of this incredibly powerful ballad and runs with it. The main title character (played by Aaron Johnson) is a homemade costumed vigilante inspired by the characters of his comic books (“even heroes have the right to dream.”) But unlike the Spider-Mans and Batmans of his imagination, Kick-Ass experiences a whole world of pain while fighting for justice.
