The massive 2023 Blue Ridge Rock Festival was set to take place over four days from Thursday (September 7th) through Sunday (September 10th) at the Virginia International Raceway, but due to severe weather and unsafe conditions, most of the event was canceled.
A sudden storm hit on Thursday afternoon as Coheed and Cambria had just begun their set, forcing the fest to shut down for the day and preventing the biggest bands and headliners from performing. Fans missed out on sets from Five Finger Death Punch, Staind, Evanescence, Rise Against, and more.
Friday’s bill went on as planned, with Slipknot and Danzig headlining, although Rammstein singer Till Lindemann canceled his set due to illness.
However, things took a turn for the worse early on Saturday, when anticipated weather once again shut down the festival, with organizers determining that Sunday needed to be canceled as well. That meant that bands like Pantera,...

A sexual assault investigation into alleged actions by Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has been dropped by German prosecutors due to a lack of evidence and testimony.
The investigation was launched in June following social media posts by a female fan accusing Lindemann of drugging her at a pre-show VIP party in Lithuania before approaching her to have sex during an intermission in Rammstein’s performance. The posts led to numerous fans calling out Rammstein’s “Row 0” VIP experience as a means for Lindemann to encounter and recruit female fans for sex.
However, German prosecutors have dropped the investigations, which “did not provide any evidence,” stating that the alleged victim’s claims were too vague and went unsubstantiated by law enforcement due to a lack of direct testimony from the said accuser, as reported by The Guardian.

Prosecutors in Germany have dropped an investigation of Rammstein singer Till Lindemann after several women accused him of sexual assault.
In a statement, German prosecutors said the investigation “did not provide any evidence” to support the accusations made against Lindemann. But they also noted there was “little opportunity to substantiate the allegations sufficiently,” as most of the claims against Lindemann were brought by third parties or in the press.

It’s almost as if former Fear Factory frontman Burton C. Bell knew it was Industrial Week here at Consequence. Just in time for our celebration of the genre, the singer has dropped a cover of Rammstein’s iconic hit “Du Hast.”
The track features Bell alongside Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson on drums and guitar, with mixing and production by Mark Gemini Thwaite. Considering that Bell made his career performing industrial metal with Fear Factory, “Du Hast” falls smack dab in his wheelhouse, and he nails the song’s bellowed vocals.
The cover is the opening cut on the upcoming A Tribute to Rammstein covers album, arriving August 25th via Cleopatra Records. It also marks Bell’s first solo output since he announced his exit from Fear Factory back in late 2020.
Wrote Bell on Instagram: “Today Is The Day that my #breakout #debut #singletrack of #duhast is released!” said Bell on his Instagram.

Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider has issued a statement on social media about the sexual misconduct allegations against frontman Till Lindeman, stating in part that the singer “has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble.”
The statement was posted to Schneider’s official social media accounts in his native German and opens with him stating the accusations have “shaken us as a band and me as a person.” Regarding the parties where the misconduct has been alleged to have taken place, Schneider said that he hadn’t seen or heard of “anything illegal” going on, but “things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don’t think are ok.”
Schneider continued by saying, “Certain structures have grown that went beyond the limits and values of the other band members. It is also important to us that Till’s parties are not confused with our official after-show parties.

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann is being investigated by German prosecutors following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
According to a statement from Berlin’s public prosecution office, per an Agence France-Presse report, “Preliminary proceedings have been initiated against Till Lindemann on allegations relating to sexual offenses and the distribution of narcotics.”
The investigation stems from initial accusations made by a Rammstein fan and concertgoer, Shelby Lynn, who claims she was drugged at a Rammstein pre-show party and propositioned for sex by Lindemann at a concert in Lithuania.
Forgoing her anonymity, Lynn recounted her full story on Twitter, saying she was selected to attend the band’s “Row 0” concert party by Joe Letz, the drummer in Lindemann’s eponymous side project. She then said she was introduced to Lindemann, who poured her and other guests tequila shots. Lynn insinuated that the drinks may have been spiked, noting that her behavior and motor skills were compromised.

German rock band Rammstein has tightened security and canceled afterparty events for a series of upcoming concerts in Munich after several women came forward alleging they were drugged and abused at the band’s recent concerts.
The allegations, which the band has denied, have triggered a media firestorm around the popular industrial metal group and its controversial lead singer, Till Lindemann, amid Rammstein’s current pan-European tour.
Last Thursday, Shelby Lynn, a Rammstein fan from Northern Ireland, posted on Instagram that she had been drugged at a concert in Vilnius, Lithuania, and taken backstage, where Lindemann had asked her for sex. She refused and he left, she said, but she was disoriented and later discovered several bruises on her body that had not been there before the concert.

Rammstein have responded to a fan’s accusation of being drugged at a pre-show party before a recent concert in Lithuania.

She also detailed a supposed encounter with Till Lindemann in a room below the stage during the intermission of the concert, where she refused to have sex with him, apparently angering the Rammstein frontman.
The band issued the following statement on Sunday (May 28th) via Twitter:

Rammstein singer Till Lindemann fell off the stage at the end of the band’s concert in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Monday night (May 22nd). The gig marked the German industrial metal act’s first official show of 2023, following a fan-club-only dress rehearsal a couple nights earlier at the same venue.
Video footage shows all six members of Rammstein standing at the front of the stage as Lindemann was thanking the crowd for attending the concert. After bidding the audience farewell, the singer turned around and lost his balance, stumbling and falling face first into a void toward the back of the stage.
After a second or two, Lindemann’s bandmates realized what happened and proceeded to look down to see if the singer was okay. It’s unclear at this time if he sustained any injuries from the fall.

3Teeth have returned with a new song, “Merchant of the Void,” ahead of their as-yet-unnamed fourth studio album arriving in the near future via Century Media.
The single is an industrial metal banger from the band that has toured with the likes of Tool and Rammstein. Crushing metallic instrumentation is melded with pulsing synths and deep electronic beats, recalling key influences such as Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails. According to frontman and creative leader Alexis Mincolla, the smoldering track serves as a commentary on the current “self-destructive path” of humanity and its obsession with materialism.
“Amidst the numbing pulse of hypermodernity, the insatiable appetite of data commodification devours our sense of meaning,” commented Mincolla in a press announcement for the song. “The undead march of materialism eventually renders the human subject an automaton, desperately grasping for the ephemeral junk 2.0 to fill the abyss of existential emptiness. Rammstein are revisiting their 1997 sophomore album Sehnsucht with an expanded reissue due out June 9th.
The German icons are giving the album — the first Rammstein disc released in the US — a fresh coat of paint in the form of a new “HD” remaster and reworked artwork based on the original stateside release. The tracklist also includes an updated 2023 remix of “Spiel mit mir.”
The band is rolling out the Sehnsucht expanded edition in a wealth of “elaborately packaged” formats: CD, cassette, and double-lp vinyl (including black and white variants). The double-lp editions mark the first US vinyl release of the album following the initial European pressing in 2017 (the album was only released on CD and cassette in 1997).
Sehnsucht, which translates to “longing,” is the album that launched Rammstein to worldwide fame with its legendary hit “Du hast,” which saw frontman Till Lindemann and company melding groove metal, techno, and industrial rock into an infectious romp.

Nickelback have faced their fair share of detractors over the years, but in 2019, pop star Lizzo came to the defense of the oft-derided alternative rock act. Four years later, the band is showing its appreciation for the support.
Lizzo’s remarks originate from CBC Music’s “Jam or Not Jam” video segment, in which she’s played various songs including Nickelback’s monster 2001 hit “How You Remind Me.”
“It has a beautiful climax,” she said as she nodded along to the post-grunge tune. “Why do people not like Nickelback? I feel like Nickelback gets way too much shit. I think this is a jam.”
She continued: “Because [lead singer Chad Kroeger] had a curly blond perm. That’s the only reason they get shit, because this is an amazing song.”
Perhaps Nickelback were unaware of Lizzo’s comments and just recently saw the clip, because they finally responded, sharing the segment on Instagram and writing,...

Rammstein are known for their elaborate music videos, which usually see frontman Till Lindemann in the starring role. The singer has once again flexed his acting skills in a new commercial for the online poker site GGPoker.
In the unsettling four-minute clip, Lindemann plays the role of multiple participants in a high-stakes poker game. There’s Cowboy Till with his prominent ‘stache and stetson; the mohawk’d Punk Till; suave Till, accompanied by a lady; nerdy Till wearing a sweater vest; and the ominous dealer Till, donning samurai attire.
From there, the poker game is depicted through symbolic sequences. When Suave Till loses a large bet, he’s suddenly engaged in a fencing match with his opponent, where he takes a slash to the cheek. The weirdest of these cutaways involves dark religious imagery, in which Nerdy Till — counting cards in his head — appears to take communion from an angelic figure spewing blood.

I will go out on a limb today and say something controversial. Are you ready? Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the greatest films ever. Shocking, I know! I should be fired for printing such blasphemy. With George Miller’s Three Thousand Years of Longing making wishes come true in theaters, the time-honored director is making headlines while keeping the PR train on track. During a recent chat with Av Club, Miller revealed that he and writer Nico Lathouris penned materials related to Tom Hardy’s Mad Max that goes beyond the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. How much, you ask? How about a novel’s worth of backstory related to Max’s journey before the events of Miller’s 2015 masterpiece? Does that information get your engine purring? Should I find you a bottle of silver spray paint so you can go to town? Could you handle another Fury Road prequel?...

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series."Finally," says the One-Armed Man a.k.a. Phillip Gerard (Al Strobel) about midway through Part 16 of Mark Frost and David Lynch's Twin Peaks revival, right after a certain FBI Special Agent returns to the world of the living. It's been 13 episodes since we've seen full trace of Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), though even then he wasn't entirely himself. (Being trapped for 25 years in the otherworldly Black Lodge has a way of tempering certain personality traits.) Now, however, he's "one hundred percent" (in his estimation, anyway), and there's certainly plenty of giddy pleasure to be had watching the energetic, Boy Scout-like Cooper of old take charge. But that presumes that this is the Dale Cooper of old, and it quickly becomes apparent that that's not the case.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails — and, more recently, collaborations with directors like David Fincher and Peter Berg — produced the soundtrack, which featured pieces from Angelo Badalamenti, David Bowie and Marilyn Manson.
