Naomi Watts and Sam Schreiber packed up and headed out of the Phuket airport in Thailand yesterday. She and Sam were leaving the country after spending a few days in nearby Khao Lak, where she working on her new film The Impossible alongside Ewan McGregor over the weekend. Naomi and Ewan were able to enjoy some warm weather in a departure from the frigid NYC temperatures she's endured during the Winter in NYC. Naomi will enjoy another reprieve from the cold when she joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer on the La set of her next project J. Edgar. The busy mom-of-two has many other projects in the works like her Marilyn Monroe biopic, and her recent release You Will Meet a Talk Dark Stranger is available today on DVD. View Slideshow ›...

New Line Cinema is ready to dispense fashion advice. The studio has picked up the spec script Style Council from writers Sam Schreiber and David Wells. The story centers on the least popular girl in high school who scores a job ghostwriting an ultrahip teen magazine column that the popular girls read as gospel. In turn, the girl starts controlling their lives. Producing are Mike Karz through his Karz Entertainment along with Chris Emerson of E-Squared. Karz senior vp Russell Hollander will executive produce.

Actress-singer Hilary Duff will put her talents to use as star of the upcoming teen music drama Heart of Summer, for FilmEngine and New Line Cinema. Additionally, The Even Stevens Movie helmer Sean McNamara has come aboard to direct the film. Heart of Summer, which was penned by Sam Shriver from an idea by Mitch Rotter, centers on a small-town teenage girl who heads to Los Angeles, where she spends the summer at a performing arts school. The project, slated for a mid-January production start, is being produced by FilmEngine's A.J. Dix and Anthony Rhulen along with Sara Risher, David Brookwell and McNamara. It is being overseen by New Line production execs Mark Kaufman, Matt Moore and Luke Ryan. Duff, who has made a splash on the big screen in The Lizzie McGuire Movie and Agent Cody Banks, on television in the hit Lizzie McGuire series and on the radio with her debut album, Metamorphosis, has a busy slate of projects lined up for the months ahead. In addition to the upcoming 20th Century Fox comedy Cheaper by the Dozen and a starring role in Warner Bros. Pictures' summer offering A Cinderella Story, she recently signed a comedy pilot deal with CBS. She is repped by Curtis Talent Management.
