Rob Schneider claims Bill Murray “absolutely hated” the cast of Saturday Night Live when the latter hosted the NBC sketch comedy series.
Schneider, appearing on today’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show, went so far as to say that Murray particularly disliked Adam Sandler and the late Chris Farley. The subject came up as the hosts were discussing rumors about Robert Shaw’s reportedly difficult demeanor on the set of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws.
“That’s the same thing with Bill Murray,” Schneider interjected. “I won’t say who the filmmaker was, but ‘Bill Murray is gonna come, he’s gonna change the…dialogue. He’s gonna change things, and it’s gonna be great, but you don’t know who you’re gonna get. Which Bill Murray you’re gonna get. The nice Bill Murray? Or you...

Tj Miller has claimed that Ryan Reynolds contacted him after he said he had a “weird” experience with the Deadpool actor during filming.
The former Silicon Valley star, who played Weasal in the first two Deadpool films, said in a recent podcast interview that Reynolds’s alleged on-set behaviour left him with no desire to work with the actor again.
“Would I work with him again? No, I would not work with him again,” Miller said during an appearance on the Adam Corolla Show podcast earlier this month. “But I’ve said that about Michael Bay, and now we’re friends, and I would work with him again. But I think Michael Bay is different.”
Miller explained: “We had a really weird moment on Deadpool where he said, ‘Let’s do one more take.’ And then as the character, he was horrifically mean to me as if I’m Weasel.

T.J. Miller says he and Ryan Reynolds have cleared the air after Miller publicly stated that he would never again work with his Deadpool co-star.
During Miller’s visit to SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts on Wednesday, co-host Jim Norton asked about him recently saying on the Adam Carolla Show podcast that Reynolds was “horrifically mean” one day on set. Miller told Norton that Reynolds reached out to him about the podcast interview and that the two have since straightened things out.
“It was a misunderstanding,” Miller said about their on-set moment from years ago. “So I emailed him back, and now it’s fine.”
The Silicon Valley alum went on to say that he has had problems in the past due to “not thinking about what the repercussions of saying this or that would be.” Miller continued, “It was very cool for him to say,...

Mattel is one of the companies that makes a big footprint at San Diego Comic-Con, especially for its vaunted exclusive collectibles. This year, however, the company is marking its first in-person appearance since 2019 with an agenda that features a slew of big-name panels, signings and giveaways. Among the festivities will be a Hall H panel celebrating the 40th anniversary of Masters of the Universe, appearances by WWE Superstars and toy designers.
Collectors, however, needn’t worry. Exclusives are very much still part of the itinerary. In fact, Mattel will reveal a dozen exclusives, coming via its Mattel Creations label, during what it is billing as “12 Days of Fandom. Mattel will offer drops that harken to iconic and classic properties as the company, in its own words, “opens up the vault.” That begins July 11 and will lead to a 288-hour sale of the 2022 lineup.

Joel McHale spoke about the recent cancellation of his Netflix talk show during a guest appearance on the “Jim Norton and Sam Roberts” show on SiriusXM.
The reason Netflix pulled the plug? “I don’t think they liked my sweaters,” McHale joked. “Obviously Netflix has trained their audience to binge watch, and we actually tried that, as well. But so far people aren’t watching Netflix that way.”
The cancellation came just months into the run of “The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale’s,” following only 19 episodes. On the talk show, the former “The Soup” host featured celebrity guests and discussed comical moments from television, internet videos and the entertainment world at large.
Now that the show is canceled, McHale, said he no longer has to watch some of the nonsense television that he normally covered such as the “Real Housewives” television series. Instead, he can spend time getting back into his Dostoyevsky books,...

Caffeine, a live social-broadcasting startup, has hired two senior executives: former Apple TV executive Jen Folse as VP of product and Michelle Wagner, previously head of Hr at Evernote, as senior VP of people and places.
Caffeine was founded in April 2016 by former Apple TV designers Ben Keighran and Sam Roberts. The startup has raised $46 million in funding led by Silicon Valley Vc firms Andreessen Horowitz and Greylock Partners. The company is angling to take on other live-streaming services including Amazon’s Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.

T.J. Miller says he isn’t a “bully and petulant brat” — despite actress Alice Wetterlund’s accusations — but says he did play one on TV.
“I play an a–hole on TV, but I’m not a bully in real life, ever,” Miller said, while addressing the elephant in the room during his recent appearance on the “Jim Norton & Sam Roberts” show. The response was prompted by Wetterlund’s recent claims he was a “bully and petulant brat” on the set of “Silicon Valley” — which Miller says are inaccurate.
“It was not my experience that anyone was bullying her or mean to her,” Miller said. “Truthfully, I felt like it was difficult to work with her because she kept interrupting Zach Woods. And that was my perspective of it.” Miller went on to say the actress would interrupt Woods “during takes, and even when she was off camera.”

T.J. Miller fired back at his former “Silicon Valley” star Alice Wetterlund during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Jim Norton & Sam Roberts” show (via Variety). The comedian responded to Wetterlund’s claim that male cast members on the HBO comedy series enabled his bullying on set by saying it was Wetterlund who was the difficult one on set.
Wetterlund called Miller “a bully and petulant brat” in a series of tweets published on July 18. The actress, who played Carla Walton on two seasons of “Silicon Valley,” had similar thoughts on her male co-stars. Wetterlund did not reference actors by name, but she said the “male cast members enabled [Miller] and were complicit in his unprofessionalism. “They can fuck off forever,” she said. “I don’t know if other women on the show had a different experience than me, but it was kind of a nightmare.”

Former “Silicon Valley” star Tj Miller is defending himself against claims from his co-star Alice Wetterlund that she was subjected to bullying on the set by him and the rest of the mostly male cast.
Wetterlund, who played engineer Carla Walton for two seasons on the HBO series, last month described her experience on the set as “kind of a nightmare.” In a series of tweets, Wetterlund wrote that the cast members who, in her eyes, enabled Miller’s “petulant brat” behavior can “f— off forever.”
During an interview on SiriusXM’s “Jim Norton & Sam Roberts” show, Miller attributed her claims to attention-seeking and said that she was not bullied.
“She may have had that experience, but it’s people trying to enter the headlines and get into the media cycle,” he said. “It was not my experience that anyone was bullying her or being mean to her.”

Silicon Valley alum Tj Miller addressed former co-star Alice Wetterlund’s bullying claims on SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts show saying that the “Internet, in general, has turned the world into high school where gossip is immediately true.”
Miller denied claims that he bullied Wetterlund. She recently took to Twitter to refer to him as “a bully and petulant brat” on set. He said that she may have had that experience but that it was an instance of “people trying to get into headlines.”
Miller said that “it was not my experience that anyone was bullying her” and that it was difficult to work with her because she kept on interrupting his co-star Zach Woods during takes and off-camera. “I don’t think anybody was bullying her…obviously there was a disconnect, because now she’s saying these things about me and then attacking the mostly all-male cast of Silicon Valley,...

Move over Twitch, YouTube Gaming, Facebook Live, etc. There’s another new livestreaming service in town, and it’s raised millions from major Silicon Valley investors like Greylock Partners and Andreesen Horowitz.
Called Caffeine, the livestreaming platform has actually been around for a bit, with an initial funding round that took place in 2016 (led by Greylock). It’s raised $46 million to date. However, the service only made its public debut today, positioning itself as a Twitch rival that’s more focused on the social aspects of not just live game broadcasting, but eventually a multitude of live content.
“Unlike Twitch and YouTube, we have a people-centric model where we’re more like a social network,” said Caffeine co-founder Ben Keighran, according to TechCrunch. Before creating Caffeine, Keighran worked at Apple, where he sold his startup Chomp in 2012 and then helped helm the design team for Apple TV. Keighran’s co-founder at Caffeine,...

In "Tornado '87" The Rural Alberta Advantage explores singer/songwriter Nils Edenloff's memory of a disaster that struck his hometown when he was a child. "Being an Edmontonian, it's impossible to understate the impact that the Tornado of '87 had on the city of Edmonton," Edenloff says. "A Tornado isn't something that typically happens on the Canadian Prairies, so at the end of that July when Edmonton was struck with an F4 tornado that killed 27 people, it was something that left a permanent mark on the city."
Director Scott Cudmore used this as a backdrop to create a this piece, more of a short film than a music video, fictionalizing that memory with stunning visuals.

2011 is finally working up to something stronger this month; are we all in agreement that these first few months have been kind of slow in terms of music? Or maybe we’re just impatient. Anyways, while we’ve surely had some musical finds each month, April has definitely kicked it up a notch. In just the first week, Toronto will be visited by acclaimed international acts such as The Joy Formidable, The Raveonettes, Foster the People, The Mountain Goats, Nat Baldwin (of the Dirty Projectors), Cut Copy and Toro Y Moi.
The month will also see anticipated album releases by locals Timber Timbre as well as those from tUnE-yArDs, The Kills, Of Montreal and more.
In terms of more local acts, we have some fun highlights:
Neon Windbreaker – This five-piece has been racking up references for their jokes and lax business models (such as selling their music with food at...
