Bstar, also known as Bernard Mathis Jr., is a recording artist and creative who brings his own unique style to Southern hip-hop music. Born and raised in Central Florida but now based in Los Angeles, Bstar seeks to convey his vision through his lyrical prowess and artistic delivery.
Bstar's musical journey began during his childhood, as he was a member of his school chorus and sang in the children's choir at a local church in his hometown. It was in high school where he made the transition to rap music, networking with talented local musicians and honing his craft to create professional-grade music.
Inspired by Southern music legends like Master P and Lil Wayne, Bstar learned the value of perseverance, determination, and forward-thinking. He has performed at various shows and festivals in Central Florida, even headlining the Central Florida Fair in Orlando at the age of 17.
In late 2012, taking a leap of faith, Mathis relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. He enrolled at the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, California, with the intention of mastering filmmaking and eventually directing his own music videos. In 2020, Bstar made his entrance into the music scene with his debut single "Tweety," featuring Boosie BadAzz, aiming to solidify his position in the industry.
