Once a show becomes popular, there are many celebrities who want to be a part of the story and have a cameo. Quinta Brunson, the creator of The Abbott Elementary, once shared that she has a long list of people who have contacted her hoping to be involved in the story in some way.
Heartstopper, originally created by Alice Oseman as a graphic novel and then adapted into a series, is probably no exception. Judging by the story of Jonathan Bailey, who was extremely happy to get his guest role in the show, there must be a long line of celebrities who want to do the same.

Oh, Captain, my Captain! Hayley Atwell is joining the cast of Netflix’s Heartstopper, and she’s bringing Jonathan Bailey and Eddie Marsan along for the ride.
Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty, and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie’s lives that make something more significant. Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) attend the same school but only meet the day they’re made to sit together. Sparks (or leaves) begin to fly, and soon, the duo falls in love and embarks on a relationship worth aspiring to. Netflix’s Heartstopper also expands the roles of Nick and Charlie’s friends, who each have challenges to overcome throughout the series.
When Hayley Atwell joins Heartstopper Season 3, she’ll play Diane, Nick’s aunt, who takes him on a summer holiday to Menorca and imparts some tough advice about his relationship with Charlie.

Every second counts!
So, let's get into it. Like any upscale restaurant that takes a simple dish and turns it on its head, The Bear is no different.
On paper, it's a pretty standard premise for a show.
In this case, a deceased family member passes the business to Carmen, and the results are life-changing. We couldn't have a show otherwise.
The challenges are self-evident. Busted menu. Even more busted cookware. And a rag-tag team of Og employees who can't be told "nothing 'bout nothing."
What sets The Bear apart from any other show is its uncanny ability to put the viewer right into the characters' shoes.
Each scene in Season 1 is palpable. The stress and anxiety are infused right into its core, giving the audience the sensation of being in the kitchen itself.
From the acting to the pace to the dialogue, every part works with the others to...

After Olivia Coleman, the Marvel star Tatiana Maslany has joined the chorus against the self-taped audition process. The practice, alongside issues such as streaming residuals and artificial intelligence, became a focal point in the collective bargaining negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP in 2023. Originating during the 2019 global pandemic, it has since become a widespread practice in the industry.

While some perceive it as convenient, others criticize it as disrespectful and costly, pointing out its lack of feedback for actors. Maslany, who openly criticized Disney CEO Bob Iger during the 2023 strikes, has also voiced concerns about the process in a recent interview with The Independent.
Tatiana Maslany Shared Her Criticism Against Self-Taped Auditions
In a recent conversation with The Independent, actress Tatiana Maslany expressed her frustration with the self-taped audition process, particularly how it has impacted jobbing actors. She shared that the process often takes significant time.

Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for the newly released “Wicked Little Letters,” a based-on-truth story featuring Olivia Coleman and Jessie Buckley, set in England right after World War One. In theaters on April 5th.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
Coleman is Edith, a mousey British woman who lives with her parents and espouses Christian values as her facade. Her neighborhood is disrupted when a saucy war widow named Rose (Jessie Buckley) moves in with a daughter and lover, and espouses a filterless and authentic cussing-like-a-sailor persona. When Rose begins to charm the neighborhood, it coincides with a number of poison pen letters Edith begins to receive, using swear-word language similar to the rhythms of Rose’s speech. Edith’s Dad Edward (Timothy Spall) has Rose arrested, and everyone assumes her guilt except for a handful of neighbors and a woman police officer named Gladys (Anjana Vasan). As the trial approaches,...

Oscar-winning actress Olivia Coleman has talked about the pay disparity in Hollywood and shared that she would make way more money if she were a man. Coleman was a guest on CNN’s The Amanpour Hour.
The actress said: “Don’t get me started on the pay disparity, but male actors get paid more because they used to say they drew in the audiences.”
Coleman added: “And actually, that hasn’t been true for decades but they still like to use that as a reason to not pay women as much as their male counterparts.”
When asked if she had pay disparity despite her accolades in the industry.
“I’m very aware that if I was Oliver Colman, I’d be earning a lot more than I am,” she said.
“I know of one pay disparity, which is a 12,000 per cent difference.”
Colman is the latest Hollywood star to call out the inequalities in wages.

Olivia Colman is considered one of the most legendary actresses of all time, and her one Oscar, four BAFTA awards, two Emmy awards, and three Golden Globes only justify her worth to the entertainment industry.

There is no dearth of television shows and web series that have been released this year. Many were brilliant at the subject they chose to tackle, while others were good only on paper. Many might have had good performances, while others relied only on the premise because the rest of the aspects were not very engaging. There were a handful of shows that were interesting and kept the audience hooked. Here is a list compiled by us for your perusal and interest.

The Crown Registered 57 Million Viewing Hours On Netflix After Queen Elizabeth Passed Away ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
One of the most loved shows on Netflix, The Crown, has finally ended its long run, and the audiences cannot get over this fact yet. While many have refrained from watching the finale episode since it is too heartbreaking for them to bid adieu to their favorite show, others simply do not want to kill the majestic impact of the previous seasons by watching the underwhelming sixth season.
However, the show has been grabbing headlines ever since the final part of the final season has dropped its episodes on Netflix. In fact, the finale episode ‘Sleep, Dearie, Sleep’ has been a subject of much discussion around what Imelda Staunton, Olivia Colman, and Claire Foy’s coming together meant.

Jeremy Allen White has been receiving accolades for his work on the FX show The Bear, and this winter, he’ll be stretching his acting muscles (and actual muscles) as one of the Von Erich brothers in The Iron Claw. It was reported that the network had renewed the show for another season. Early next year, White will be firing up the grills yet again, as Deadline reports that’s when FX has booked reservations for The Bear‘s season 3 to begin production. The show aims to start shooting around February or March of 2024.
White is set to return as Carmy. However, when last we left the chef, he had found himself locked in a walk-in fridge in the middle of a ‘Friends and Family’ night that was taking place at the restaurant. Allen tells Deadline he “hopes” to escape the predicament in season 3 with a bevy of new guest stars.

Updated Exclusive: Warner Bros’ feature musical Wonka arrived on three-week-out tracking this week with a revised industry projection of $35M-$40M when it opens on Dec. 15.
That start is in the vicinity of Sony’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($36.2M) which opened before Christmas on Dec. 20. While going pre-Christmas is always risky for any movie, family branded pics are quite safe and remain a powerful distraction for families who are still in the throes of shopping.

Those numbers are a point above the unaided awareness for females on Illumination/Universal’s Super Mario Bros Movie. In first choice...

Those numbers are a point above the unaided awareness for females on Illumination/Universal’s Super Mario Bros Movie. In first choice...

Yorgos Lanthimos, who wowed at the Venice Film Festival five years ago with The Favourite, was welcomed back like a returning prince with his new film Poor Things.
The Venice crowd got to their feet Friday night after the world premiere of the film, which stars Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe and Ramy Youssef, giving a raucous, 10-minute standing ovation, with many in the audience shouting “Yorgos! Yorgos!” at the director.
Lanthimos was clearly enjoying it, getting up from his seat to great fans, pumping hands and signing autographs.
The film’s actors were unable to attend due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. (Poor Things is a studio title and will be released by Disney’s Searchlight.)
The rapturous reception here could mark the film for greater things, similar to the arc followed by Lanthimos’ The Favourite, which debuted on the Lido in 2018, winning two awards — the best actress...

The new season of Heartstopper is just around the corner, and we can’t wait any longer. Having seen the trailer, we’re hoping the season exceeds our expectations and gives us exactly what we need to just sit back, relax, and be happy. The exciting new season drops on August 3rd, but before that, we thought we could do a breakdown of all the details we can get from the trailer. The first season was impeccable, and fans of the graphic novels by Alice Osemon were overjoyed by the actors and their work in the show.
Heartstopper has been a great representation of the queer community for young kids who may be facing some difficulties accepting themselves. There’s so much in the little details that just feels very authentic. While everything is peachy with Nick and Charlie, we know that there are other storms to overcome. Those who...

The story of Nick and Charlie wasn’t new to the world when it first appeared on Netflix in April 2022, but it has become a larger phenomenon ever since. Author Alice Osemon first introduced the two beloved characters in Solitaire, a novel about Tori, Charlie’s older sister, way back in 2014. The author is a household name in the queer community for writing underrated, heartwarming queer stories for young readers. Heartstopper, originally written as a webcomic, got published as physical graphic novels after it achieved massive success and currently has four printed volumes.
Apart from having the most wonderful characters and a perfectly sunny plot, even with its difficult themes, Heartstopper has managed to garner huge buzz because of its positive storytelling. Oftentimes, gay media representation is rather dark and sometimes disturbing to see, and amidst all the bad representation (let’s not even talk about the overly sexualized shows...

Curated by the IndieWire Crafts team, Craft Considerations is a platform for filmmakers to talk about recent work we believe is worthy of awards consideration. In partnership with Netflix, for this edition, we look at how the crafts team behind “The Crown” evolved its visual language and storytelling for Season 5.
From the series’ inception, “The Crown” has been structured to evolve as the story of Queen Elizabeth’s reign unfolded. The most notable change, of course, has been the rotating cast, with first Claire Foy, then Olivia Coleman, and finally Imelda Staunton brought in to play the British monarch who stoically bore witness to seven decades of national crises. But the team behind the camera has also kept up with the decades, making adjustments that give Season 5 a weight and poignancy: this is the period where everything’s going wrong with Diana (Elizabeth Debicki), but we know just how much further wrong it will go.

‘Empire of Light’ is a new movie written and directed by Sam Mendes. Based on an entirely original script, it follows Cinema manager Hilary (played by a tragic and often terrifying Olivia Coleman) as she navigates severe depression, a budding romance between her and her new employee (an affectionate Michael Ward), and battles against both internal and external threats to her existence. There’s plenty to love about this movie about movies. For instance, Sam Mendes is at it again and has directed this film communicating the story’s grandeur in mind: his shots highlight every extreme. From the temporary beauties that act as a respite in Hilary’s life to the lows of her life that she is forced to deal with on a frequent if not daily basis, his shot composition covers it all. Aiding in this endeavor is legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins. Deakins...
