Exclusive: Roku this past weekend saw the fruits from its big push into Spanish original content as the Greice Santo-created music reality series, Serenata de las Estrellas, notched the streamer’s biggest opening weekend by reach for any Spanish-language Roku Original.
Serenata de las Estrellas, which dropped on October 13 in the final weekend of Hispanic Heritage Month, ranked as the No. 1 on-demand Spanish-language title by reach on the Roku Channel both stateside and in Mexico.
The series hosted by Julissa Bermudez was conceived during the pandemic and spotlights an array of people in the Los Angeles and Miami Latino communities who are surprised with a once-in-a-lifetime concert in unexpected locations by the biggest names in Latin music including Grammy winners Chiquis, Los Lobos and Ozomatli and rapstress Snow Tha Product.

Roku is continuing its lineup of Spanish-language originals with five new series from creators such as Juanpa Zurita and Jaime Camil. But that’s not all. The streaming player-turned-content hub also announced the premiere date for Season 3 of “Un Millón de Gracias” from Jennifer Lopez. Previously titled “Thanks a Million,” this year will mark the series’ first Spanish-language season as a new batch of celebrities give back to the people who have influenced them the most.
Each episode of “Un Millón de Gracias” follows a different celebrity who has been asked to give away $100,000 to someone who has inspired them by being a hero in their community. But once that person has been gifted $100,000, they will have to give away half of it to someone who has inspired them. Roku expanded its slate of Spanish originals, adding six new unscripted series from Latino voices and creatives including Jennifer Lopez, Juanpa Zurita and Jaime Camil.
The six new original series — “Carpe Dm with Juanpa,” “Desde la Raíz,” “Serenata De Las Estrellas,” “La Divina Comida,” “Batalla en Abuela’s Kitchen,” “Un Millón de Gracias”— feature stars including Wilmer Valderrama, Belinda, Sofia Reyes and Michael Peña.

Amazon Prime Video announced that “Everybody Loves Natti,” the upcoming docuseries about Dominican singer-songwriter Natti Natasha, will premiere on Nov. 19.
Over six episodes, “Everybody Loves Natti” will cover details of the reggaeton star’s personal life, including her fertility issues and her experience with her latest album, “Nattividad.” The series will also feature her friends and collaborators Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, Becky G, Yovanna Ventura, Ariadna Gutiérrez and more.
“Everybody Loves Natti” is produced in association with Monami Productions and Amazon Studios. Executive producers include Natasha, Raphy Pina, creator Mona Scott-Young, Michael Lang and Stephanie R.
