Fox is looking to make a literal splash next Super Bowl Sunday, by slotting the freshman action drama Rescue: Hi-Surf after the Big Game on Feb. 9, 2025.

Shoots, da kine “Rescue Hi-Surf” is one lucky TV show, brah. Fox just gave it the cherry timeslot after Super Bowl Lix on Feb. 9, 2025. That’s a big vote of confidence for the freshman drama, which is set to premiere this fall on Monday nights at 9 p.m. Et, after “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
Although the impact of the Super Bowl lead-out has varied over the years, it proved to be a huge boon this year to CBS, which launched “Tracker” after Super Bowl Lviii on Feb. 11 and watched that drama turn into a big hit. The last time Fox aired the Super Bowl, in 2023, it ran an episode of its hit food competition series “Next Level Chef.” And in 2020, Fox aired an episode of another unscripted program, “The Masked Singer.”

Fox last month doubled down on its commitment to Rescue: Hi-Surf, picking up seven additional episodes of the lifeguard drama to bring its first season to 19 episodes. The network now is tripling down on the John Wells Productions series by giving it the biggest platform in television, a berth following the 2025 Super Bowl.
A special episode of Rescue Hi-Surf will air on Feb. 9 after Fox Sports’ presentation of Super Bowl Lix, the network announced Monday morning, ahead of its upfront presentation.
This will be the first time in eight years that Fox will give the post-Super Bowl slot to a scripted series; the last two times the network carried the big game, it went with the unscripted The Masked Singer and Next Level Chef as lead-outs.

We have unfortunate but expected news about OWN's thrilling courtroom drama All Rise.
The series has been canceled after three seasons.
Truthfully, the writing had been on the wall for some time.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 10 aired a year ago, and the series has been on hiatus ever since -- never a good sign for any series.
In March, Deadline reported that the entire cast had been released, meaning that new deals would have to be reached if negotiations got underway for a fourth season.
As a result, the series has faced an uphill battle since its move to the cable network after CBS swung the axe following All Rise Season 2.
The only silver lining here is that we still have ten episodes of All Rise left to air.
They will begin airing on Saturday, September 16, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

Judge Lola Carmichael and her team of attorneys have kept us entertained with their fight for justice and their own drama for almost three seasons.
Unfortunately, the long wait for the second half of All Rise Season 3 is killing the momentum. It hasn't aired in a year, and its future beyond the filmed episodes is up in the air.
The show will be back on the air at some point, though, and we've rounded up everything there is to know about what could be the final-ever episodes.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 10 ended bittersweetly since two lives hung in the balance due to Brandon Nation.
While couples reuniting during a tragedy is overdone, seeing Luke rush to save Emily and Maddy from Leo and the two finally admit their feelings were long overdue.
It was such an emotional scene, but viewers want happier times instant of continuous angst for Luke and Emily.

This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. After six years of not having to limit their choices in any categories, members’ selections can now not be greater than the number of eventual nominations for a given award, which, in this case, will be five.
Unlike comedy and drama series, which simply appear on the ballot by name, the limited series submissions include plot descriptions and cast lists. Which of the shows listed below do you think will land in the final lineup on...

Jiro Tamura is an ideal protagonist. He loves his family, is hardworking, and keeps his Japanese culture alive for his children.
After his mother's death, he dutifully cares for his brother, Sam, who suffers from a traumatic brain injury. He even helps embattled athletes sound and appear politically correct.
Accused Season 1, Episode 11 made you love Jiro Tamura. He is a definitively sympathetic character.
There were moments when his paranoia did take desperate turns, but it was all forgivable, if a little illegal.
Ian Anthony Dale's performance was moving. Jiro's survivor remorse headlined this episode.
He felt guilty for surviving the accident that diminished his brother's mental capacity, which showed in every scene.
One can only imagine the guilt of living such a perfect life while your mother and brother are relegated to caregiver and patient.
Jiro: You know, once I left for college, I never looked back. I left...

The governor presented Aj and Conrad with an offer they couldn't refuse.
By the end of The Resident Season 6 Episode 12, the bad boys of Chastain strike a deal with the devil to save the hospital. Meanwhile, Ian and Padma saw some possible closure for their arcs. And Devon compromised, for Bell's sake.
Join Laura Nowak, Leora W, and Meaghan Frey as they discuss the hour.
Do you think dividing up the two-hour finale worked better for building up momentum?
Laura: I would have rather had it as a 2-hour finale. Plus, I feel awful that the 9-1-1:Lonestar fans got the premiere pushed back again.
Leora W: It worked, but I'm also biased because I don't have time in my busy schedule to watch two hours of the Resident in one night, so it worked out well for me!

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Resident Season 6 Episode 12, “All the Wiser.”] “You can’t be serious,” Dr. Kit Voss (Jane Leeves) says upon seeing the report that Governor Betez’s (Steven Culp) helicopter crashed blocks from Chastain. But as a result, The Resident‘s penultimate episode features a solution that may keep the hospital up and running — if the doctors are willing to make a deal with the devil. Also in the hour, Ian (Andrew McCarthy) returns from rehab — [insert lie here] as he continues to keep it a secret from everyone except his daughter, Cade (Kaley Ronayne) — and Bell (Bruce Greenwood) gets some good news about his medical future, thanks to Devon (Manish Dayal). Plus, did The Resident just go from Conrad (Matt Czuchry) and Cade and Billie (Jessica Lucas) and James (Ian Anthony Dale) to Conrad and Billie and Cade and James successfully in one episode? Maybe. A Deal They’ll Probably Regret Following the...

Governor Mark Betz (Steven Culp) is probably going to wish he’d been a lot nicer to Dr. Kit Voss (Jane Leeves), Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood), and Chastain in the penultimate episode of The Resident Season 6. As you can see in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of January 10’s “All the Wiser,” he ends up a patient in the ER. Devon (Manish Dayal) and Feldman (Tasso Feldman) are the first doctors to start meeting the patients of a helicopter crash. Cade (Kaley Ronayne) and James (Ian Anthony Dale), then Conrad (Matt Czuchry) and Billie (Jessica Lucas) arrive to help — they’ll need everyone — but Feldman has one of the best lines of the season when he remarks, “it’s like musical chairs around here.” After all, until the previous episode, Conrad, Cade, Billie, and James were together. Conrad and Devon meet the next ambulance, carrying the pilot, and...

Making enemies with the new governor (Steven Culp) is proving to be a major problem for Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) on The Resident. Betz has enlisted a spy at Chastain and is digging up dirt on Bell (specifically looking for possible lawsuits), and now, in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek, the surgeon is served court papers from a former patient while receiving the Lifetime of Service Award for how much he’s meant to the hospital! In the November 15 episode, Bell is honored as “someone who has done more for Chastain than perhaps any other one person. He has saved more lives than could possibly be counted….” And the staff is in attendance. That includes Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry), with Dr. Cade Sullivan (Kaley Ronayne), Dr. Billie Sutton (Jessica Lucas), and her new love interest Dr. James Yamada (Ian Anthony Dale), who seems to be having a good time.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 20
One of the hallmarks of The Walking Dead has been a pretty strong ethos of community survival. No man is an island, and one of the things real-life disaster preppers mention is that forming a community of people with different skills and similar values is an invaluable part of continuing on past the fall of mankind. The cold open of this week’s episode makes that abundantly clear; from scenes of Carol getting rescued by Daryl in the early days to Carol leading a one-woman assault on Terminus in “No Sanctuary”, having friends has always been the key to surviving the stickiest of situations. Now, those friends who are willing to put their lives on the line for people like Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Carol (Melissa McBride) need someone to do the same for them, but it’s...
